PS3 and 360 are established consoles with a larger market.

Better to get 40 million sales right away than wait 4 months and only sell 2 million. Not everyone can afford 400 (10x the game price) for a new console.

I'm willing to be that they will re-released the game a year from now on the next-gen consoles.

I think they're doing the right thing and releasing it on a system that developers know how to fully utilize, not to mention the increased sales.

They are not waiting for PS4 and other next-gen consoles because people aren't going to upgrade en masse like they did when PS3 and 360 came out. With PS3 and 360, the graphics were night and day compared to the older consoles and people were just beginning to buy HD 1080p TVs. Now, the TVs are maxed out at 1080p and the consoles use blu-ray discs already. The graphics will be better but not THAT much better.

As long as they keep on making the few games I buy for PS3, I am not going to upgrade to PS4.

Regarding the misogyny crap, I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years games like GTA face so much social media pressure that they develop female versions of it. I listened to a podcast briefly about GTA with two women. I knew they were going to whine about the game, I just wanted to see what they would say. And they said that these games are unfair because men and women have the same fantasies and there should be a GTA for women. They also whined about how the entire world is misogynistic so the gaming industry shouldn't say that this is a safe haven for misogyny. They talked about feeling left out as gamers and said GTA should just remove the worst elements of the game such as beating hookers and going to strip clubs and whatnot.

Love they assume that a GTA for women will be a GTA for all. Could you imagine a "Hunger Games" video game? Right, no men would play it because the heroine does nothing.

Tomb Raider was far more popular with men because Lara actually killed shit. Women bitched about the tits and ass, but it was about the action she engaged in. My sister would play the second Tomb Raider and just play the opening at Lara's mansion because it involved no action. She immediately bitched about the game when it really started, immediately targeting her rack. So predictable it is just sad.

San Andreas was fun, didn't like GTAIV that much, about gamespot, they bitched about pc shit in game before so it didn't surprised me. 'It' also reviewed Gone Home, 9.5 for a 'game' last 2 hours and no gameplay, but hey it has lesbian's love story.

I'd still wait to get it with the GOTY. They will make some full campaign dlc which will be included. Rockstar always does this. Video games depreciate rapidly and you won't get anywhere near full retail for a used game if you try to sell. Ebay may be your best bet if there is a limited supplies of games.

I'm watching the reviews for the game. They tend to clock in about 12 minutes each!

It's very clear that the guys who built this game, have no interest in in demonstrating how game works in real life.

They are just here to add more mollification to the beta masses.

Just found out Gilles Peterson is a DJ on one of the radio stations in the game (called Worldwide FM).

GTA will never become politically correct for the same reason porn will never stop featuring naked women. It's one of the few consumer goods that men actually spend money on. Business adherence to feminist dogma has everything to do with profit margins and nothing to do with ideology. The women who gripe about video games wouldn't buy them in the first place, so there's no economic incentive to pander.
