Izmailovskaya have dezhurnayas on every floor who will knock on your door and tell the girl to leave at midnight. Had this happen to me. I stayed at the cheapest one directly facing the metro station ( there are three or four different ones next to each other ). There is a strip club on the second floor of that hotel too.

I used to stay at the hotel 'Mega Service' on Izmailovsky Bulvar. Has an ok restaurant and wifi, no issues with girls.

The cheapest hotel in Moscow is the 'Hotel Baikal'. It is near Botanical Gardens metro stop ( 10 minute walk to it - not a problem in summer but in winter a slippery slidy headache ). Has wifi in lobby, no problem with girls going back, buffet breakfast included but not a good one. One bathroom between two rooms but it's clean. Has a night club on the ground floor which is often full of Central Asians, not pretentious in any way like some Moscow places.

If you can afford it go to the Izmailovsky since it is most central and the metro takes you straight to Red Square after about 5 stops. Also lots of options in the area with bars and pubs, gyms, restaurants etc. and opposite the park which is worth a stroll in. If you are skimping on cash though hit the Baikal, it's perfectly ok.

Valuable insights there Vorkuta. So you are saying if I pickup a girl from club, and come back my hotel room then hotel people will bother?

So what is the situation like in Russia? What time clubs generally closes? I heard they are open till 5 am.

Also I ll consider this Baikal or kind of hotels, which has their own clubs.

I have stayed in 3 of the 4 "Izmailovskaya" hotels (Delta, Gamma & Vega)....the one I have not stayed in, sounds like the one Vorkuta stayed in, as it is the one with the Admiral(?) strip club if I recall correctly. Long way from the centre, but Metro (Partizanskaya) is very close, also as somebody else posted lots of shop, clubs, big Planet Fitness all nearby.

Got to stay the security are a little "over zealous" though, showing your card each time to get to the elevator...even when the guy has checked the room card 10 times in the week and recognises you, still he will check it !

I never did experience the White God Factor in Ukraine but then again my game is weak and every time girls asked me I would tell them I was from DC, NYC or Europe which probably does not hold as much value as LA or Miami. I'm just wandering why you would waste your time on VK and Badoo if you already realized that just being the only American in every Novosibirsk club is an automatic DTF?

I think you mean DHV. Keep in mind that this doesn't always happen. Take last night for example...we went out and almost everywhere was dead or had only 10-15 people in there. Either Thursdays suck, people didn't go out because it was raining earlier in the night, or we just didn't know where to go.

Yet when we were out one set of girls even though they couldn't speak English I could tell were very intrigued about me not being from there. Too bad one was fat and the other was with a guy. Later two girls on the street started speaking Russian to me, I said do you speak English and they freaked out (in a bad way) and said "sorry no" and ran away. So it doesn't always happen that way. So the combo of things being dead makes me look online a bit.

Also you can't fucking tell if a place is good or not by the atmosphere outside. Maybe it will change this weekend, but this week a place could be going off and have nobody inside. There is a bar called Kilev here, everyone told us to go. So Tuesday night we go, and it's in the middle of a building courtyard. We go, not a soul is there and we hear no music. I look at pictures yesterday online and it was going off that day! What the hell? So we go back yesterday night - surely if it is going off on Tuesday it will go off on Thursday. Again, dead outside. So I pull the door open, it is open. I look inside nothing, nobody and no lights. But why was the door open? I go in a bit more and it literally looks like a dungeon with no lights, no sounds, nothing. I figure the last thing I want to do is go exploring in the dark in Siberia, so we leave.

We are going to see how this weekend plays out. Basically, we've decided that if there is some decent quality this weekend, AND we get some leads out of it, we will stay longer. Otherwise there may not be a point to endure another week of basically nothing going on in the week just for the next weekend. Especially since this doesn't seem like the one off type SNL place like Iceland where it may be worth it to stick around another weekend.

@slubu- A common word you should be using is "Davai". Its multi-purpose and multi-functional. Going outside, leaving, taking shots, eating faster, yada yad yada. In literal terms- it means "we should". But since you will be using mostly body language and limited russian, you can act like a semi- mute ape and still pull.

Couldn't find a 2-bedroom in this city, came back to bite me. Oh well. Warming up to this city, I feel like girls are very receptive.

I'm pretty effin drunk right now...which means you will get some honesty. I'm proud of my buddy, he took down a model type girl on the first date for a plus one. That's pretty impressive. I will explain his date in case it helps others...

Met her went to a dinner where she just ordered soup. Brought her back to the apartment on the guise that he was going to spray her with bug spray because she was annoyed at all the bugs around. Once here, he said I have a surprise and opened a bottle of champagne. Got her drinking and still nothing. When she said she was going to leave, he said he was going to meet me at a club.

Then she got jealous and eventually she ended up boning. He said he rubbed the "genie" aka kept rubbing her vagina until she gave in. Meanwhile I was in the club with a 19yo I met previously from an online site. At first I didn't think she was into me but we eventually started making out, etc. Got her back but as I previously explained logistics got in the way.

Now on to tonight...it was horrible. Saturday night and the first place we went to while there was some White God Factor it wasn't that great. Still noticeable fat chicks. WTF???? Nonetheless we left and went to somewhere else where the ratio was even if not skewed in favor of guys, girls were bitches, etc.

Eventually met up with the 19yo and it was just brutally cold. No love whatsoever and she ended up telling my friend I was too old for her at 32... Well so be it. I'm not really pissed just annoyed. In Ukraine 32 for 19 is golden, apparently not here. Or maybe just this is an isolated incident.

Apologies for the ramble, but Novosibirsk is a mixed bag. On one hand, my buddy banged a model-esq girl on the first date. That in itself is grounds for celebration. On the other hand I had two very interested girls totally flip on me, one flake (ladies' night girl) and the other (19yo) go cold on me meeting up. Why? Ya neznayo.

But one thing we both agree on...quality pales in comparison to Kiev/Odessa. There are fat girls, there are ok girls, there is nothing walking around during the day that gets your blood boiling. Even the girl my buddy boned, which was damn good, doesn't compare to the girls that walk around Arena in Kiev.

Next destination...Moscow, Tomsk or Yekaterinburg. To be determined...

Correct but wrong time of the year. He's at least approx 6-7 weeks out. These cities are dead this time of the year. Come back first week of September and its Klondike

Optimum time for the provinces are as follows:

1) early September to late December
2) early February to mid June.

Partizan, we are going to Sochi. But from here the flights are 700-1000. Might as well see a smaller city, then fly to Moscow for a week or two, then Sochi. We are going to try and do what we did in Kiev and Odessa. Find two girls in the capital and bring them to the beach town for a few days, then stay ourselves.

Here's what I did re Tomsk: I messaged a bunch of people that live there asking them if the nightlife is still good even though it is summer. I'd say 70% said it is still good, gave me suggestions and said while some students do leave a lot still do stay. It's a 3 hour train ride, so worth a shot. If we don't like it, we leave.

From what I have been told, Sochi is outrageously expensive. Not only accommodation, as one can expect during peak season, but drinks in bars/clubs, restaurants, ect. Prices are at Moscow level. Furthermore GF said that there was constructions literally everywhere, the whole city is just an immense construction site.

If Novossibirsk is half-empty, it will be IMO the same in Tomsk - and maybe worse.

I also would not go in Ekaterinburg in summer.

You should go to Moscow if you have the budget, but even there, most nightlife venues will be calm. And anyway five weeks in Moscow is financially suicidal.

Won't that have the same effects of Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg and Tomsk? Meaning it will be empty in those cities too out east? Also, do they look more Asian/Chinese over there because that is not my style...

I really wish there was more data out there, I've never even heard of half these cities much less know what to do when I'm there.

Finally, I know everyone seeks this out but that factor of the girls loving me because I'm a foreigner is so great. That one night where they were going nuts because I was from LA, complimenting my looks, my hair (seriously I have normal hair) was just insane. I know I won't get that in Moscow or Sochi. But I also don't like seeing all these damn fatties in this town.

Hey Slubu, it's really cool that you are exploring some of the lesser known areas of Russia. Looking forward to your future posts.

Kharkiv, Ukraine also gets relatively dead in the summer. Kharkiv which has a similar population as Novosibirsk (1.4 million) still has respectable nightlife on the weekends, even during the summer. I met my girlfriend during a summer in Kharkiv. You just need to figure out which venues people are going to. Some clubs makes use of vk.com to advertise an event, and vk will list who is planning to attend. This is a way to estimate if an event will have a good turnout.

One thing to try out is going to English language meetups. In Kharkiv, this was a way to find people who were excited to meet foreigners, and I was able to find some of these events during the summer on vk.com.
