Hey what's up forum members, apologies on not reporting back sooner...as soon as I got back from Indonesia to my home in Phuket, I had to deal w/ a "souvenir" unintentionally brought home w/ me, aka food poisoning...a week later, my family from NYC came to visit me for 2 weeks...then I immediately spent 10 days at a Vipassana/ silent meditation retreat in Chiang Mai (highly recommend -
http://www.watrampoeng.net/)..so just getting back to the real world and trying to figure out where the last month and half went, lol.
Anyways, about the trip...the reasons I chose JKT is b/c I was applying for my 1 year+ educational Thai visa...I prev. went to KL and Burma for past visa runs so wanted to try something new that involved outdoor activies (ie. trekking/volcanoes) and after my friend put me onto the Roosh forum, I DEF wanted to check out Indo
![[Image: smile.gif]](https://rooshvforum.network/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I was only meant to stay 4 days in JKT, but visa issues delayed it to 7 days.
A few quick points:
* Islam not a cockblock - pretty easy to get alcohol and plenty of bars/ clubs to party at. The girls didn't seem super-conservative or prudish.
* Language barrier? - not a problem, I was surprised at how much people spoke English...I would say more than Thailand. Def made it easier to ask for directions, recommendations and approaching girls.
* Traffic - It's true, def an issue. Can use public bus (very cheap, but sometimes too crowded) to get around or taxi as it's cheap. But best bet is to keep logistics in your favor, so book a hotel close to the malls/ clubs.
* Street food - I LOVE food, especially what the locals eat, which includes street food/ carts. After living in Thailand for the past 10-months, I figured I had the "Iron Stomach"...but around the 5-day mark, I got food poisoning aka the runs. It was manageable meaning I wasn't sick in bed, nauseous or had to goto the bathroom every hour. But towards the end of my trip, I kinda affected me...and by the 10th day of it, I decided to see the pharmacy in Phuket. If you can, bring cipro...but I'm sure you could prob. get it from any pharmacy there. Despite this, I really liked Indonesian food (during any trip, for me eating what locals eat is part of the experience)...Love nasi goreng ayam (fried rice w/ chicken), the salad w/ peanut sauce (gado-gado), fish that's grilled over a BBQ and the shrimp chips, just try them! You know how I know I'm Asian, I f'kin love RICE AND NOODLES! lol
* Can buy SIM card pretty easy...there's small little shops/ carts/trucks everywhere selling them and it's pretty cheap.
* At night while walking around, I saw a "Sutra carts" selling viagra and sh1t, lol....for you freaks out there
![[Image: tongue.gif]](https://rooshvforum.network/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
* Things to do during daytime when not chasing p00n - I felt like there wasn't much that interested me, but to each there own. I brought my Muay Thai gear and googled MT gyms, so there are ones to train at...but due to traffic, I got turned off. To sight-see - check out the big mosque, big cathedral across from it, the big tower-monument w/ museum inside (I like history and spent 1-2 hours reading stuff there from the art), see old port city (can take public bus there and has museums, public square where you can rent bicycles, also walk through the ghetto and you'll get a bit of gratitude for the life you have). Supposedly there's Achol park w/ sea...I was supposed to go w/ a girl there then plans changed.
* Smoking is everywhere - I have asthma and live a healthy lifestyle - this is prob. one of my big-hangups about the country
Impressions of Indonesian people - For the most part, the people are super-friendly, almost like Thai people...I felt safe & not like everyone was trying to scam me. But it may also help I'm Chinese-American so blend in more easily, lol. Multiple times people spoke to me in Bahasa, lol. As in most SEA countries, the taxi drivers are usually the shadiest f*cks/ hustlers...stay w/ the blue-bird cabs. I didn't get ripped off except the one night I came home 5am from X2...got charged $30 US when it should've been $3-5...being the drunk idiot that I was, I handed him the money w/out thinking. HATE cabbies!
The people are very hospitable too - on 2nd night I sat at a corner resto & shared table w 2 Indo's...they tried to make convo's as best as possible in the little English they spoke. They ended up picking up the tab for me. ANd on the last day in Bandung, on way to airport I befriended two pharmacy students sharing the van w/ me. We ended up waiting at the airport together and they insisted on paying for my last meal since "I'm a guest in their country". Side note - they said that most Muslim extremist actually are not Indonesian, but rather Malaysian..it's such a porous border. You're cabbie will get searched for bombs when you get dropped off. But I never felt like something bad was gonna happen in terms of terrorism.
Funny side-story - i got a random "kanicheewaaa" when i was walking during the day...then some bar-WOMAN (no not bar-girl b/c these ho'z are 40+) asked me after dinner "u korea or japan" lol...man, it's easier for me to blend in back in Thailand... Then the other day a ladyboy approached me n she was hideous n had horse grill lol. But she stepped up her game. She said kanecheewah......But also threw in an "areegato" n few other jap words. Wtf, I hvnt seen any jap tourists lol. Where they learning from lol
Night-game - b/c my first priority was not p00sy, but rather my Thai visa, I had to restrain myself from going out for first few nights...I was waiting for my Thai teacher to email me the completed visa app, which then meant I had to wake up early to make the drop-off window at the Embassy. Being tired/hungover is not fun for me, lol, thus I didn't go out until Friday night. That being said, I wish I went out more nights than I did as that's where the biggest pool of Indo talent would be and easy to find.
X2 nite club - I'm 34 now and clubbing for me is not the highlight of my weekends anymore...but when you wanna get laid, you do what you have to do
![[Image: tongue.gif]](https://rooshvforum.network/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
I actually had a good time...went there myself. The layout is very good with wide open space and good sound system. The music wasn't bad either...I'm a bit of a music snob (techno, tech house, deep-house) but the tunes were descent. Mostly progressive house w/ some hip-hop.
The crowd was a mix of locals w/ ex-pats. People were friendly and looking for a good-time...not like the B&T crowd in NY/NJ w/ the d-bags looking for a fight or the portentousness. I was able to approach girls and mixed sets with ease and strike up a conversation. Girls were easily 7 and 8's. One girl I opened was Indo-Chinese...another was half Indo w/ some arab..def my flavor. She was with a girl and some other guy who was not her bf. I didn't pull that night as I made the mistake of spending the majority of my time (well towards end of night) focusing on this hot 22 year old half Thai/American girl instead of trying to diversify w/ other girls. We hit it off and had easy light convo...on the dance-floor I had her grinding up on me, which was awesome as she had on these jean-booty shorts and I was feeling up her thighs the whole time. She's was there w/ 2 other girls. The part I think I fked up on was not having enough C - connection, comfort...when looking back the next morning, I realized I didn't isolate her on any of the seats/ tables surrounding the dance floor to try and get to know her. At end of night, I walked her to parking lot and got phone # as a last ditch for a possible day-time meetup.
This was all on a friday night and didn't get home til 5-6am. I still had a good-time and would def go back to X2. Sat night I was set to go out again to check out Immigrant, but after dinner and trying to pre-game in my room, I said f*ck it and just crawled into bed. Old man status, I know.
Jalan Jaksa - the ghetto backpacker. I would normally stay away from something like this, but my first night I got in late (past midnight) and just wanted to take a stroll since it was down the road from me. I asked where it was to get some food, and the locals all pointed me to this shady-a$$looking alley-way...twice I turned around after walking into it b/c it looked that g*-damn sketchy! So I grew a set and went through anyways...the New Yorker in me caused me to take my watch off and knuckle-up as I passed through the various back-streets which was like a maze. The place is like a quarter/ half-mile stretch and was pretty dead. Saw ladyboys (hideous old ones at that) and none of the places looked like a place I'd even want to grab a quick drink in.
5-days later, I'm bored of JK and desperate to get my Indonesian flag (this happened on a Monday)...I strike up a convo w/ a Canadian dude eating at the same street cart...he's about 22 years old and staying in J.Jaksa...had some interesting stories to tell so agreed to meet up w/ him later since the hostile he's staying at has a bar w/ live music at night. I get there around 10pm and he's w/ the some shady local characters who are a bit sketchy, but in a good, entertain-able way, lol...one b1tch who's fuked up on god-knows what bc half the time she's trying to talk to me, her eyeballs r rolling to the back of her head, lol...and she's like 40+...i want what she's takin! lol...anyways, half the sh1t comin outta her month is not understandable..but we did manage to have a conversation about my background...again w/ the fukin japanese comment..when i say CHINESE, she goes "yeah, i can tell" then proceeds to pull on her eyes and make them slanty!!!! lol...YELLOW on YELLOW crime mang, lol. She was a good laugh. Wish I took a pic of this crackhead b1tch.
Anyways, the girls at the bar look like washed up bar-girls - a bit older but none attractive. I don't see any foreign expat/ backpacker PT either. Later on a a short, cute Indo girl comes in...I make eye contact from afar and when she walks by to use the bathroom I give a what's up and smile. On her way back she stops and we make convo. A few hours later, my friend left and it's just me and her. I couldn't tell if she was a bar-girl or not...she said she works as a hairdresser. Later on she mentions something about money and going home w/ me (can't remember). I tell her in Thailand, I get thai price - free b/c I'm good-looking, good in bed, etc, lol. Either way, I'm against paying for sex and was trying to see if I could atleast shore a girl (still not sure if she was even a working girl). She said something like kiss me and we go. So I kissed her then took her hand and proceeded to walk to my hotel. We get there and I use the bathroom..when I come out, she's already half naked in my bed. I actually took her pants and threw them back at her b/c I told her to put them back on to keep some foreplay...she had a juicy booty and I love the act of peeling off pants / panties before sex, lol. Flag secured
Next morning around 7ish, ths girl starts going crazy, jumpin around, trying to get changed and making phone calls....she's late for her OFFICE JOB!!! lol...i said why dnt u just go straight in, but she dont have her uniform w/ her. She had to go home first, then come back into the city, the traffic is horrendous here...i felt bad but passed out after she left. No I ended up not paying...btw, she was 29 but looked like early 20's. Good English and cute body. I couldn't call her later that day or next day b/c i ran outta credit and was too lazy to get more. I'm assuming she wasn't a bar-girl b/c she didn't try to get $ from me...also, what bar-girl has a 2nd job, mind you office one...the ones here in Phuket s*ck dick as their main-profession...they're not waiting tables on their down-time, lol.
Pipelining - I used Tinder, Skout and Wechat starting the day I got there as i didn't know about these apps until this forum. From skout, I was able to setup a date w/ a 22 yr old Indo..but I got SIF'd!!!! I swear the profile pic was somebody else!!!! WTF, lol. Had coffee w/ her then said f'k it and let's just grab dinner since she can atleast show me good local food, which we did. This fat kid is happy, score lol. What's fuked up though is I could've met this other 19 yr girl who was def. cuter but i made up some BS excuse to meet the other busted one thinking she was hotter, lol. On wechat, I found some cuties but couldn't setup anything fast enough. I used some websites but nothing came through.
Tip - goto Cilandak Town Square (google CITOS)...it's a good first-date /daytime coffee/lunch/dinner meal spot that's kinda trendy and not too pricey (open plaza/mall w/ cafe's/resto's). It's where the SIF suggested we meet. Has a starbux and we got dinner at a clean, local place...had an awesome spread of local food for $20 US.
Daygame - tried all malls...Grand Indonesia, Plaza Indonesia, Senayan, FX mall...I think i went for 2-3 days since I couldn't go clubbing at the beg. of my trip. Didn't really see anything worth approaching. The one cute girl I see, AA kicked in and puss'd out. Then decided to go after her but she was speed walking and lost her. f*ck! Like someone else said, WHERE do all the hotties go during the day. This is why, looking back, I would've made more of an effort to do night-game. By end of trip, it was Sun-Tues and I don't think those are big nights to go out
Where to stay - It's true, traffic is bad so stay close close to big malls and clubs. I did NOT stay in J.Jaksa, but rather about a 10-min walk...it was close to G.Indo and Plaz. Indo malls and X2. I stayed in 3 diff. hotels b/c like I said, my visa go delayed so had to jump hotels since they'd be booked by time I had to check out. My recommendation out of the 3 -Ibis Tamarin
http://www.agoda.com/ibis-jakarta-tamari...XG4w%3d%3d - around $50-70 US per night. Gym included and pool..descent actually. Good location. Plenty of food options.
http://www.agoda.com/ibis-jakarta-arcadi...XG4w%3d%3d - around $50-70 US per night. Right across from other Ibis hotel. This is where I spent first 4 nights.
Last nite in JKT
https://www.agoda.com/asia/indonesia/jak...XG4w%3d%3d - around $30 US per night. Descent and cheap..but location is far. Since I wasn't day/night gaming I didn't care...just needed to be in a spot to pickup my passport for next AM as I was leaving for Bandung directly after.
Visa run info - If you're going to do a Thai visa run, it takes 3 days, not 2 like other countries to process your visa app. Keep this in mind if you're trying to keep costs down or on a tight-schedule. You have to drop off app between 8/9am off until 12:30pm (only 3 hour window). Come back two days later in afternoon (2-5pm?) to pickup. No lines and in/out. Maybe like 5-10 other people. Not a clusterf*ck like other Thai emassies. But does take 3 days to process. Office is pretty easy to find. Just google it. It's by Ritz-Carlton hotel.
http://www.thaiembassy.org/jakarta/en/or...dress.html
Also, you can goto Bali as their's an embassy there.
Summary - I love to travel to new countries and learn about diff. cultures/ history. Getting to experience the local talent is an added bonus and not the sole reason for me to visit. When my friend told me about Roosh forum a month ago, I was like WOW, what an awesome site and concept (travel plus working on social skills/pickup!)
![[Image: smile.gif]](https://rooshvforum.network/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Prob. read 20+ threads for 5-days straight, lol. After reading the Indo threads, it seemed like a p*ssy haven, lol. However, I think there's one big-difference btwn my experience and what other guys have had - I'm an Asian guy. I didn't get the eye-f*cking or approaches since I probably look Indonesian and just "normal" to what the girls have seen. The "white-exoticness" is lacking, lol. With that said, it's still possible as an Asian guy to go out, have fun and meet the girls there. Yes, basic things ie. game, having style, confidence to out alone and conversational skills are needed. Back home when I used to live in NYC, I paid money for a 3-night bootcamp and separately for a day-game instructor (yes, w/ JT Tran since he understands the hangups Asian guys have). I'm no beta anymore and my game/lifestyle has def improved...if you're considering going to Indo, use it to work on yourself and your experience as there's not substitute for it. All the books won't help until you go out into the field. BTW, I did read Roosh's books right before the trip, Bang and Daygame...def recommend them both to anyone.
If I were to go again - I would def hit up the clubs more (I thought day-game was gonna be the bread-n-butter of my trip).
After JKT, I was planning on making trips to Bandung, Jogajakarta, Surabaya and few other cities (the temples)...but b/c of the visa delay and the fact that my fam was coming to Thailand shortly after, my trip plans were shortened. I only had a chance to spend 3 days in Bandung.
Bandung
-My focus was more on culture/outdoor activities rather than PT.
-I got lost on way to new hotel and stumbled into tour agency asking for help. The owner ended up helping me. Superfriendly and knowledgeable and lived in us for 7 yrs for grad skewl. Ended up driving me to new hotel then droppin me off at outdoor shopping market. It had factory outlets whch were meh, but the local indy stores were dope. Got me 2 wallets and tank top for 15 US or 500 baht. Then at dinner he picked me up and showd me a dope local outdoor spot. This guys was like a long lost uncle to me..he's Chinese (fujian) but grew up in Indo. Was able to go jungle and volcano trekking - check out my blog for more details and pics. Would DEF recommend this city if you're gonna visit JKT as it's pretty close.
http://www.journeyto8limbs.com/2013/11/1...indonesia/
-I took the Argo train from JKT to Bandung...about 3 hours and very cheap.
-Used CS and got a lot of replies, but ended up not going out. Didn't run any night/day game. This is def. a university town...but the girls look look like they're too young / petite for my taste.
-I sayed in Dago area which was very nice. Def recommend this Ruma Aca guesthouse - big room, clean, good location...it's actually someone's house/mansion (some lady). The 3rd floor is dorms for girls (I tried to creep but you need a swipe card to get in - cockblock!)...4th floor is dorms for boys and not locked.
https://www.agoda.com/asia/indonesia/ban...XG4w%3d%3d
Summary - Bandung was prob. the highlight of my 10-days in Indonesia (yes, even over the flag). Unfortunately my time was limited...being that I live in Phuket, Indo is very close and plan on making a trip back to see the cities already mentioned that I missed. Good food, friendly people, low-cost of living and cute girls
