Rivelino in Stockholm (July 2013)

i will be in stockholm from july 20-27. this thread will be where i write down all my research on stockholm as a city and the swedish culture overall, where i write down my experiences while i'm there, and also where i write my data sheet after i'm done. right now i am investigating which neighborhood to rent an apartment in. again, like in berlin and amsterdam, i prefer the more upscale, cool, posh, fashion areas, artistic and designy but not dirty and trashy and full of tattooed hipsters. more soho and tribeca than williamsburg.

NEIGHBORHOOD RESEARCH

wikipedia:
"Östermalm is a wealthy area, having the highest housing prices in Sweden."

tripadvisor uk:
"Östermalm is upscale and posh. Quite nice. Södermalm is younger and slightly bohemian. I'd recommend Östermalm or Södermalm."
"Ostermalm feels more residential." that's bad!

yourlivingcity:
"Without a doubt Södermalm is a favorite borough among many locals. The island forms the southern part of the main city and is the definition of urban Stockholm. A hipster revolution has turned this once working-class neighborhood, into a hot-spot for artists, musicians, hip designers, bohemian cafés, edgy shops, and funky restaurants." bohemian cafes sounds good. edgy shops, not as good.

Östermalm: This is the most elegant and most exclusive part of town with some of the city’s most impressive buildings, high-end specialty shops and stately apartment blocks with flats that are sold for absurd amounts of money"

SWEDISH CULTURE

great little essay from time out:

"Swedish genius: All that thinking space might just help to explain the roll call of homegrown success stories: from Strindberg and Bergman to H&M and Ericsson, this is a place positively bursting with creative genius. But that creativity is first and foremost born of functional simplicity – a mantra at the very root of Sweden’s soul. Ikea owner Ingvar Kamprad may be worth $33 billion, and ten per cent of Europeans currently alive may have been conceived in one of his beds, but he still drives an old Volvo and takes the metro to work. The local word for it is lagom, or ‘just enough’, and it sums up principles of fairness, equality and modesty.

Unfortunately, lagom is not a word that applies to Stockholm’s price tags, and however crafty you are with your holiday kronor, there’s no getting away from the fact that the city makes a pretty expensive weekend getaway. From tucking into a large beer and a plate of meatballs to finding a hotel room, nothing comes cheap in the Venice of the North. But in return you get a triumph of substance and style, with over 100 galleries and 70 museums, northern Europe’s largest and best-preserved medieval city, plus more than enough Nordic chic to fill your baggage allowance on the way home."

Stockholm doesn't have a real fashion/design area sadly. Östermalm/Stureplan is where you want to be if you desire the posh.

Söder around Medborgarplatsen is the more artistic/hipster area.

5 bucks says you will be disappointed by the women. There are some hotties for sure, but Sweden's reputation of "beautiful blondes everywhere" is vastly overrated.

A lot of Brunettes from what I remember. Once the brown hair gets in the gene pool it is all over [Image: smile.gif]

Take the booze cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki lots of horny people on that boat ride. Still can't wash the image of a midget all over some tall dude sitting on chair. It was like she hadn't eaten in weeks.

There are like 75k students in Stockholm (but I imagine far fewer during the Summer) http://www.staforum.se/in-english I remember that not everyone had on campus housing at the SSE so some of them had to commute from an area that tons of colleges around it, just can't remember the place. I'd wander over to that area (if only I could rememeber the name) sure you bump into a hotties.

Damn, Stockholm has got some talent. These girls have mad legs!

@Rivelino. How strong were the bitchshields amongst these girls? Also if you don't mind me asking, How many of these approaches were successful? (i.e numbers, bangs, dates)

i have lived in europe for almost two years, i got a job here. with my vacation time i have gone to paris, berlin, amsterdam, and now stockholm. i still want to check out vienna, prague, hamburg, munich, london, etc.... i do want to go back to stockholm, but gotta check out other capital cities first.

my theory is that girls 21-25 are always the friendliest and most up for fun.

Out of curiosity, why was this user banned? Was it due to possible solicitation to something off about his blog?
