I still am not sure if I agree with this.

I bet you could ask 1000 guys on the street about "the manosphere" and you would get nothing but blank stares.

I mean think about this forum. Part of me is amazed by how big it is.

But when I really think about it, it is so small.

Hell, I would think there would be at least 20,000 men in the world posting on here every day. Even that would be small.

I mean, it is not like we are talking about stuff that men aren't into ie girls, travel, money, lifestyle etc.

How many active guys post on here honestly? 300? At most?

That is such a small number in the world.

Hell, a bomb could have gone off at last summer's Annual RVF Montreal Meetup for Summer 2012 (actually I was the only one there) in a bar and killed us all.

No idea what an MRA is, and I'm a poster here.

More guys are definitely through with Western women. There are loads more younger dudes bar-fining women here in Bkk. A decade ago it would have just been old dudes in their post-divorce state.

No idea what feminism has achieved, but it sure as hell hasn't made women any happier.

The general trend of our society is down, down, down. It doesn't matter if the manosphere is gaining or losing.

This reminds me of the mountain climber whose rope breaks. He's falling, falling, falling. Halfway down, he bounces momentarily off a small ledge and says "thank goodness, I've slowed down." Then continues to fall the rest of the way to splatter on the rocks. So much for that.

I don't even understand half the stuff people talk about on here.

I am 20 year old guy and I try to reel in as many friends into the manosphere as I can, I can notice that many young guys here are starting to wake up and stand up against this charade. Good on one side...but more competition [Image: tongue.gif]!

"Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it. It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin. Real love involves real hatred: whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the sellers from temples has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth."

Most guys would be embarrassed to admit they even come to this place. It's still taboo.

Here's a better question to ask young guys:

"Have you ever read Roosh?"

That will let you know immediately if they follow the manosphere or not.

Also, just 7 years ago if you asked a guy what "game" is he would pretend to know nothing, but if you ask a guy today what game is he'll start talking about where he likes to meet his girls. It's the same way with the manosphere. Tons of guys pretend not to know in order to be cool, when in fact they know.

I put a "?" in the title for a reason. I didn't see enough interest in that thread so I didn't organize anything.

And although the amount of active posters is small (which I like), the readership is what counts and the readership is in the hundreds of thousands. I'm serious. This site gets hundreds of thousands of unique visitors each month, just like Return of Kings does.

And although I'm sure some members on this board would be embarrassed to admit it, this board is nothing more than an intellectual movement. It is a board about ideas. Most intellectual movements don't even approach the size the RVF has become.

I really don't think so but who knows?

I mentioned in an earlier comment that most people aren't talking about Belarusian girls VS Moldovan girls.

Or tier 6 cities in Ukraine VS tier 12 cities in Siberia.

Anyone I can think of I know if I mentioned those subjects their eyes would glass over.

this is not new, its that those who promote feminism aspire to positions of power, and use legal tactics, libel, the media, colleges & universities, etc to push their agenda. If 10% of the people that believe its wrong actually stood up and said no, American culture would be much different, probably closer to Brazil.

Perhaps because you aren't hanging out with the younger crowd much nowadays? People in the 18-24 range aren't exactly at upscale bars and hotels.

Personally, when I go out by myself guys come up to me every now and then and ask for game advice. Sometimes guys even ask for my number so they can call me later to roll with me! I laugh hard because I know they won't have the balls to do it, and give them my number. Of course they never call.

There's a lot of thirsty dudes out there looking to learn the game, but you have to be where the thirsty dudes are to know this.

Now you might ask, "Why is Samseau hanging out where the thirsty dudes are?" Because I'm a shark in these fishbowls.

Seriously???

My friends and I were talking about game 30 years ago in grade school.

My dad, uncles, cousins, and brothers used to talk about game when I was a kid. This was in the 1980's.

They said they had been studying game for decades.

My uncle said he heard about this book in the 70's:

Could be.

I do mix with that crowd a little.

I have a hard time believing that 18-24 year old bars are chockfull of guys talking about, "The White God Factor", "The Value Proposition of a California ID in 4th Tier Cities in Crimea" and "Cali VS Medellin VS Bogota VS Baranquilla for an Average Guy with Average game with blonde hair, blue eyes and intermediate Spanish skills".

Is that really what's going down?

Hell, I honestly have never heard one of my friends complain about divorce laws in America, and barely hear a peep about feminism. I am trying to think of one instance.

The next 24 year old I meet I am going to ask him to give me a detailed pro and con breakdown of Koh Samui VS Boracay for a 1 week, 1 month and 1 year time frame with a centrally located apartment in each and a cost/benefit analysis of Google Translate for day game both environments.

I can't be sure, but I am guessing the guy is going to think I am crazy.

Hear here. There is a backlash against the extremes of feminism which isn't coming from the Rush Limbaugh crowd and you're seeing it. Look at the discussions about climate change and gay rights...this forum has a lot of opinions from left to right about a lot of political issues. We are not some Fox news echo chamber.

I talk about this all the time in bars. How many times have you written "Rooshvforum.com" on a bar napkin to help a brother out? True players get approached by guys that need help. If they seem really cool, I add "Ali-B" below that forum home. Players helped me come up, and I pay it forward.

I think we need to define what exactly is meant by the manosphere going mainstream. People have taken Roosh's opinion to mean something in musical terms to the arrival of the Beatles in America circa 1965. We aren't quite there yet. We're are the "Hey you hear about these 4 dudes at the Cavern Club in Liverpool?" stage.

We're witnessing the very beginnings of the manosphere penetrating (so to speak) the dam of the matriarchy, but it's only a trickle, by no means it's a torrent... yet, but the strength of the trickle is growing each day, soon it''l be a stream, then a torrent. Be patient & persistent, that day will come, it isn't far off.

I think people on this forum forget all the beta friends they left behind, friends that got wrapped up in some LTR with a mediocre girl and now never talk to. As you get into your mid 20s it is the guys getting engaged or married to 6 that blows up in weight. Or they make a bad move and get a girl pregnant.

Most of these guys all know deep down what game is and consists of, but they opt out. This is the vast majority of men.

How about most guys that have successful careers? Most of them get an average girl and work all the time. The most successful guys around my age I have encountered go that route. Hitch to a 5 or 6 and work their ass off.

The amount of guys really in the game for the long haul is tiny.

Even my peers that are single guys that go drinking a lot and are decent looking only know the basics of game and haven't banged more than 10 girls in their life.

Hell, I think I have had 4 male friends I have known that have slept with more than 10 women in their life. Many of these friends that have had less girls have been athletic, good looking, into the party scene etc...

Players are rare and most likely always will be. Just like there is mountains of information on how to become a millionaire, the middle class has less monetary power than in the last 4 decades.

It all comes down to convictions. People take the way of least resistance.

I know we are into helping other men out, that is the mission. One thing we talk about is shaming women. We rarely if ever seriously talk about shaming men. We tend to say hey if that guy wants to get married or play video games every night that is our best bro, can't lead a horse to water.

For the manosphere to take effect quickly I think there would have to be tons of male shaming among close friends and family members. The way you would see an old movie or hear a story of a great grandfather being a mean old son of a bitch if his sons got out of line. You would need to have every male that Likes or Hearts girl's shit on FB/Instagram to be shamed in a way they could not forget. I don't see that happening.

This is a mission to save the few. Not the many sadly.

Men as a whole are in control. Not women. If we all changed in a day, women don't stand a chance.

This is also the paradox of the manosphere. Whilst we could argue the tenets and principles are beneficial for men, most men will never choose to.

Because as you alluded to - guys will take the path of least resistance. It involves turning your whole belief system upside down, internalising game and challenging things you accepted as the norm.

Do you know how hard that is? Probably one of the biggest challenges a guy faces. It's easier not to. Ignorance is bliss.

This is why game is niche - it's fucking hard work and takes a certain type of guy to succeed. I think the fundamental principles of the 'manosphere' will not go mainstream.

Although I think there's a fair amount of solipsism in the manosphere, i.e. believing this way is best and anyone else is a loser. Guys need to take a step back and not try and shove their reality down others throat. Otherwise they will be no different from the feminists.

However I believe people will try and to ride the wave in years to come to further serve their own agenda once it becomes mainstream, and our way of thinking is more politically acceptable.

Roosh's 2013 Prediction Has Pretty Much Come True

Quote: (06-24-2013 12:09 AM)Andy_B Wrote:

Just as a refresher, since it's been a while since Roosh posted this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miF9pn0kkPc

Basically Roosh predicted that the whole "manosphere" would blow up and gain large-scale regognition in 2013.

I was just reflecting on changes that I've noticed this year, and it seems to me that Roosh's prediction has more or less come true.

Here are just a few signs:

1. Everybody seems to know what an "MRA" is now.

The topic has come up at least a few times when I was out with friends. And I wasn't the one to bring it up. Even if the whole MRA set is the worst part of the manosphere, this is at least some local evidence that people are becoming more aware of the young men's issues.

2. I've noticed that a lot of people are sorta quietly opposed to feminism these days.

By 'quietly opposed' I mean they don't really talk about it but they'll usually acknowledge it when somebody says something critical of feminism. I have a friend who's a lot ballsier than I am when it comes to saying un-PC shit in real life, and he rants about this stuff all the time. Surprisingly, many people agree with him, and few people really react as true white knights.

3. Everybody knows what a 'white knight' is at this point.

I think it's kind of generally acknowledged that 'white knighting' isn't something that normal guys do; that it's a certain personality type that feels the need to behave this way. I think people are becoming more aware of this kind of behavior.

Anyway, I realize that all this is very local, anecdotal and inconclusive, but it's something!

Based on what?

same here, but the first written material I ever consumed about it was around 1995-6, from some old books like that in a used book store. 'Game" and 'mack' was a major part of growing up in the late 80's-early 90's, mainly it was a lot of my buddies getting fat chicks to buy them shit. I feel like once info products started to take off in the early 2000's with the web was when this whole thing took off and a multi multi million $$ industry was born, and there are still more ways to skin this cat.
