Official Statement from Booz Allen, Snoden's employer...

Quote:Quote:

Booz Allen can confirm that Edward Snowden, 29, was an employee of our firm for less than 3 months, assigned to a team in Hawaii. Snowden, who had a salary at the rate of $122,000, was terminated June 10, 2013 for violations of the firm’s code of ethics and firm policy. News reports that this individual has claimed to have leaked classified information are shocking, and if accurate, this action represents a grave violation of the code of conduct and core values of our firm. We will work closely with our clients and authorities in their investigation of this matter.

Sorry guys, he was "only" making $122K. I wonder how he got his money out of the USA? That's probably why he went to Hong Kong first.

Throw one of these on your wrist and you're good (~$550k). Resale in HK wouldn't take 10 minutes.

Why do you assume he's got money, 122 K ( OFFICIAL salary) is not enough to save a ton in a couple years...

I also just noticed the pointy elbows, we can write her and tell her she's been rejected. .

However, if you like paying child support you can pump a baby into her, her tits will grow into a size that won't become cow udders at 40. But I realize most guys like bigger boobs.

Was it Snowden himself who said he makes 200K a year?

Booz Hamilton wants to disassociate itself from him as much as possible, if he worked more than 40 hours he might have made much more, but they would publicize the base salary so as to not appear to have been kissing the ass of such a horrible, horrible individual.

On that note, if Russia does not have an extradition treaty with the US, why didn't he go there?

You need a visa to fly there. If he applied for one, I'm sure the NSA would have known.

It's pretty wild when you think about how rapid the erosion of personal privacy has been these past several years. I've even experienced girls looking me up on Google and asking questions based on that information. Due diligence will soon be as simple as a few mouse clicks, and already is in many instances. There used to be a time where a guy with street smarts and a good appearance could con his way into the corporate world. Those days are now gone for the most part because of the increasing lack of privacy.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like you can avoid a lot of this by locking down your Facebook and not having any pictures of yourself and not having your name in your email account. Basically doing the opposite of attention whores and not putting yourself out there online.

I second what Houston says. If you're cautious about what you out there, I don't think it's that hard to keep your anonymity. Always use pseudonyms if you post to forums. Ideally a different pseudonym for each so you can't easily be cross-referenced. It helps me that I have an extremely common name like "John Smith" and anyone googling my name is going to have to sift through a whole lot to find me. My facebook is completely on lock as well. Nor do I post any dumb shit on there that would make me look bad to an employer.

I'm not talking about FB, which you guys are right about, but any publications or websites that have information about you. Linkedin is a double edged sword, for example.

The dude's a spook. Isn't it possible that he could have gotten a fake visa if he wanted to?

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Webpage up already with alternatives to products/services compromised by the NSA

Pretty extensive list, wonder how practical it would be to implement everything? Thinking of buying a new laptop soon, so might be able to start from the ground up (except maybe the OS... damn pre-loaded Windows...)

Article that sheds light on how the leak went down. Snowden made very elaborate plans to meet with Glenn Greenwald.
