Why would you eat 500g of protein?
500g is insane!
500g is insane but Jay Cutler eats 500g of protein a day but I doubt anyone on here is even close to him
Cutler eats in excess of 500grams, you can quote musclemag or whatever but those are the same mags saying he's using creatine and protein powder to reach that side instead of gear, slin, hgh, igf etc. I've got female physique competitor friends eating 300 grams of protein and they don't weigh more than 130 pounds, not year round but they cycle macros as the goals vary...
For the numerous asking, I've stated many times already that I've been a high level athlete all my life and now just a gym rat albeit a serious one but training with guys who are in line to get pro cards and some who have them already. I know what it takes to get your body to an elite level...500 for the guy who wants to weigh 160 pounds with abs is overkill, but it's not for the guy whose goal is way higher than that. A properly functioning kidney has no issues with that much protein and protein is what it takes to grow lean tissue...even with 500 grams of protein my total caloric intake is between 3k -3500 depending on whether it's training day or not. I dexascan monthly to test bf and do bloods every 3 months so i'd know if that amount of protein was detrimental to my results or harmful to or unusable by my body. Most of you don't test your bodies to the degree I check in with mine, most of you aren't as well versed in what it takes to reach a high level of performance, be it in sport, or aesthetically as it is in bb'ing...it's an extreme lifestyle so please don't come in with broscience and say thats too much or why do you need it if you haven't lived it and come at it from a place of experience... I don't recommend this amount for everybody there are many factors that comes into play before coming up with the macros that work for your system, this is the one that is getting me max growth right now which is the goal, those macros will change as I get into prep and out of offseason mode and I might at points take in half that amount but at the moment for the current blast its 500 grams protein.
Im quoting Jay Cutler Directly. @2:00 he says he eats 500g protein 1000g carbs and 50-75g fats a day and he currently weights 300lbs
How do you know if the amount of protein your taking is in excess and unusable to your body?
If Jay Cutler the top man in bodybuilding takes in 500g of protein I doubt you would need that amount of protein unless you were some kind of monster and weighed over 300lbs. Im sure 500g isnt doing you any harm but you could probably get the same results on less.
do you want me to play you the quote in which he says he doesn't use gear?...he's paid to push products, he's not gonna tell you what he really uses, the supplement biz is one of the shadiest industries around and no bb'er wants his fellow bb'ers to truly know what it takes to get to the top levels. I know a guy whose been pushing for his pro card for years, he sat with a retired pro, top 3 finisher at the olympia a few times, his only advice was as much gh as you can afford, the rest doesn't mean shit, as much gh as you can get. That guy in mags says gh is shit,..you won't get the truth till you know them on a personal level even then probably just the basics, they'll never let everyone know. I have a competitor i'm friends with whose being coached by George Farrah, he hasn't dipped below 600 grams of protein in 6 months and he's not a mass monster, barely a heavyweight in the offseason, but he's becoming one with the diet, slin and gh intake... I'm tellin ya, I'm there with the guys goin for pro cards and women competing, his protein intake is the norm, whether you choose to believe it or not. It's impossible to sustain that level of muscle on a couple thousand calories, the gear they're on feeds off protein. Offseasons the only time they're letting carbs get high, most of the year it's low to moderate carbs....dieting down lets say they're taking in 150-200 grams of carbs per day which is probably high which equates to 800 or so cals...another 100 grams in fat which again is high but for arguments sake another 800 cals. That's 1600 for the day, for a 250+ pounder, even while dieting down they'd need to be in the 2500+ cal range, thats 1000 cals in protein, 250 grams while dieting...you don't think that to bulk they're using double+ that if they're using that just to maintain?
how do I know, blood tests, urine analysis, serum protein tests, keep on top of creatinine levels to see how the kidneys are functioning. When you've been at this for a while the tests tell you most of what you need to know then you trust the mirror for the remainder...the tests may say I'm good to use this amount but if I look in the mirror and I look like shit then its not the right intake for me...my growth has been off the charts for me at this amount. Like I said before I am not advocating for anybody to use this amount, but when you're at a level where you're lucky to be putting on 5-7 pounds of legit muscle a year you need to take it to another level in terms of diet and supplements. It also takes good genetics to be able to make use of all the extra food, supplements etc. So let's keep this in perspective, I'm not speaking for everybody I'm speaking for the elite athlete but the basics are still the basics, if you're not taking in enough protein you're not going to grow to the degree you should be.
