The guys that got fired will fade into obscurity. Hopefully they will get new jobs but probably not in a while until the immediate storm has died down.

Adria Richards on the other hand is already a feminist icon and can probably coast on that for a long time. If Richards was a developer, Sendgrid would not have fired her. They'd have forced her to make a public apology and say some standard formula stuff about her views not representing the views of the company etc., and would not let her attend any more conferences. She's in public relations. She tanked her own reputation with this stunt, which undermines her ability to do her job.

Frankly, the vast majority of blame for this whole debacle is reserved for the white-knighting manboob CEO of PlayHaven and anyone else involved in the firing. It was their cowardice and lack of principle or perspective that caused the incident to escalate. Without them, Richards would just be getting standard issue shit for being an offense-trolling attention whore and might even still have her job.

We believe People of all races and sexes should be treated equally. Ms. Richards doesn't share this belief. We feel it is only right that we show you her perspective of fair treatment. She feels that is it okay for a black person to hate on white people. To us, this sounds like justifying hatred and other uncivil behaviors. Also, to get an innocent man fired for an arguably sexist joke and a misinterpreted statement, yet freely making jokes that are sexist towards men.
