I'm in my late 30's.

throughout my late 20's to early 30's, all of my boys ended up in
- in long terms
- in marriages
- corporate jobs
- mortgages
- kids..

Now that I'm in my late 30's, some of them are now starting to get divorced.

Bingo. A good friend of mine's once said.."you can't want something for someone else." Be supportive of others yet stay only slightly involved, bc you have to focus the majority of your own energy on what's best for you and factors that you can control.

I've got some friends in good solid marriages (as far as I know) but with kids hardly see them and I've had to find new social circles. These guys barely get out anymore and when they do it's sad to see how neutered they are. My one good friend married a total cunt, she bitches at him all day, belittles him in front of everybody, you can hear her screeching at the top of her lungs four houses away. Guy had a decent house all paid for, lived in the city near all his family and friends. This bitch made him move out to the suburbs, 45 minutes away, tiny little house with a huge mortgage. Haven't seen or heard from the guy in months and feel bad he's trapped out there with a cunty wife and kid but he "just wanted to get married."

I can say there is some hope. Wait till you hit your 40's most of those guys will be divorced. I was married for a long time as well.
Like most of my guy friends we all ended up married at some point in our 20's.

Lost touch with all my friends, the ex made sure of that quickly. Now that almost all my old friends are divorced, we have reconnected and having a great time.

Marriage is a living hell. Their is no better way to describe it. I would have a hand cut off before I would ever consider doing that again.

I've lost track with 100% my old friends. Some of them aren't even hitched, but our lifestyles have completely grown apart.

One in particular...goddamn his wife is so fucking fat, and now she just had her first kid. He blew up too. Every time I think of him I'm reminded of that Bill Maher line, "I knew these guys...when they were stallions". That was us man, drinking and getting high, going around town breaking shit and starting shit, skating, playing guitar, partying, taking hallucinogens, not giving a fuck about girls or work or making money.

What's funny is there was a period of a few months when I was out of my LTR and had no prospects whatsoever for girls. I was working a bullshit job in a deli, had no money, no girl, living on a couch, literally had "nothing" going for me and none of the other guys did either. We just lived according to our own schedule, never really got anything done, had no major aspirations. 6 dudes living in a 2 bedroom apartment getting drunk, doing drugs, playing Nintendo, skating, tagging, painting, playing guitar. Even though those guys are mostly settled down, fat, and boring now, I know we could all get together and know how things used to be. It was really the happiest and most carefree time in my life, and probably theirs too.
