Besides the point of the thread but William & Mary is not second tier. It's one of the most selective public universities in the country (easily in the top ten). It's admissions rate is up there with UVA and GW. It's also considered one of the original eight "public ivies."

When ranking up against all universities, public and private, it's somewhere in the 30s so it's definitely a first-tier institution. Everyone I've met who went there is doing pretty well.
