I'm about to move to Seoul for a new job (not english teaching). I spent almost a year there in the Army in 2016 and daygamed pretty much every weekend and some weekdays for that entire time. As far as daygame goes, I know the city like the back of my hand. Looking for a good wing, been daygaming 3+ years, late 20s American white male, with somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,000 sets.

PSA: Girls seem to be in full-on BF/FB hunting mode this couple of weeks. Temperature dropping and prospect of a long winter does something to the lizard brain.

Anecdotal but had great time last Saturday in itaewon. Met 3 girls one after the other, same bar too. I've been around long enough to know it doesn't count until +1 is on the board. However, it was a good outing. Plus, I'm seeing one of the girls this weekend, a cute little fresh grad who just moved to Seoul from a smaller city.

Guess who'll give her a slice of big city life

Hi, ill be in Seoul from 3rd Dec onwards and looking for a wing. I don't have much experience in gaming (learning and applying things in Japan right now) but i am a fast learner. 6"1 Korean-Australian, read/write fluent korean and english.

^ I'm not in Korea now but I met a guy off here exactly like you but Korean-American

You will do well. Use your height, maybe even wear insoles to be a little taller like 6'2"-6'3". Not many Korean guys are 6'3"+

Just be a little more aggressive but you don't need to do anything special. Either girls will approach you (if you aren't ugly) or you go up to them, have a normal convo, then ask or lead (latter is better but unexpected if you're inexperienced) them to your place, which is hopefully close

PM me if you have any Qs

John, you'll be fine here buddy. For gyopos, you just need to decide if you want to:
1) lean more on the Korean side and try to blend in or
2) emphasize the differences and stand out

I'd say go with the latter. Use your accent, height and physique (I'm assuming but 90% of the aussies I know are built) to your advantage. It's never shooting fish in a barrel here (unless you have a model face) but I'm sure you'll do well.

Final points:
1) open in English at least then transition to Korean depending on the girl, venue, conversation
2) when in doubt, go for the taller one. Even tall Korean guys prefer small girls it seems. Decent looking tall girls will be happy if you engage them
3) tons of girls here studied or worked for a bit in Australia and never shut up about it. Natural hooks

Have fun out there and report back!

Edit: you were talking about K-girls, right? Apart from imported models (mostly EE), don't waste your time

Cracked me up when I saw this. It doesnt matter whether they're Korean, Japanese or Chinese, they wouldn't shut up about their 'english school' or 'working holiday' that they had x number of years ago in Hoju/Osuteriya/AoZhou

I understand the Melbournes and Sydneys but any of you get this strange number of this girls going to Cairns? Who goes to Cairns for anything, I always try to use their destination as some sort of conversation hook but whenever a girl hit me with Cairns(which is increasing), I used to get stunned without a reply. Nowadays I just tease them for going to the countryside because they're probably more at home there, always gets a reaction.

Cairns is a hotbed for the northern Asians, for a few reasons:

- Proximity. It's naturally the closest to these countries, so flights will tend to be cheaper and shorter.

- Most of these people probably live in a big city. Aussie cities are great, with a few notable landmarks, but they shouldn't be a travel destination in themselves.

- Nature. Cairns is probably the best, most accessible place in all of Australia to see everything of the great down under. Great barrier reef runs right up to the Daintree rainforest, croc farms just to the north, and the great outback just a half hour west. 'Where the forest meets the reef' is one of the taglines of the city.

- For 8 months of the year, the weather is the best in all of Australia.

So if you want to chat up a girl who visited Cairns, The best bet is probably talk about animals - Sharks, crocs, cockatoos koalas kangaroos snakes, frogs, fish, dolphins etc etc. Asking about the differences between their host family and their home family is another.

Or just ask her if she went to Gilligans.

Field report :

Octagon

This place has a huge amount of hot chicks.
Approached : 5

Most of the approaches were not memorable. Just got rejected by the girls pulling my hand away.

Edit 2: I was wearing a white shirt with a long sweater on top with skinny jeans and boots (god bless insoles, i probably shot up to 6”3, my hair touched the roof on the way down stairs.) I would like to reinforce the point, height = looks (id have girls turning their heads to check me out, peripheral vision boys).

Girl #5

Around 3:00am i approached this duo. The chick i was goong for was extrmely down. Grinded for a solid 20m (i tried to bounce 3 times but it turns out she just got there and so i suggested to dance a bit more). During the whole time she was feeling up my ass saying that shes a pervert, so i told her “dont touch my ears, or ill completely flip. So she played with my ears, hence i knew it was on. I was so close to closing her (got her to the cloak roam, she asked if i was “good” (in sex terms) which i replied with you will find out when we get there. What cockblocked me here wss that tbe friend she came with was someone that worked under her, hence i needed to solve that problem. In hindsight, i could have solved it easily, but my boner took over my brain and i lost it. Again, in hindsight, making out with her would have been easy but i just kissed her neck and cheek instead of going for the tongue hahahas.

Lessons learned : Kino is not my problem, i need to be less drunk and more smart about how to solve her LMR.

Should i have approached more? Damn fucking straight i should have. But i was with my mates, who arent that great gamers, so i was worrying a bit. A solid wingman would have been absolutely perfect.

Korean girls are very weird, approach #4 rejected me in 3 seconds but when she saw me again she eyefucked me. Guess thats another lesson ive learned through this.

Lets see how itaewon is tomorrow, since im on a massive high (online game, day game and night game is working for me very well), and any tips for dates near hongdae? (Got a date with an 18 year old, but duno if shes reserved or what)

Sidenote : what whiteknightrises and MPD said about height, jesus christ it plays a massive role. Before i even walked into the club the girls in line were checking me out. When i went Inside even the bartenders were checking me out (the manager of octagon came up to me and talked to me, saying that the club gets more lit later on)

Regrets:
I regret not approaching this one girl that was alone (she eyefucked me 3 times when i went upstairs). Ofc i have excuses for it (korean guys are FUCKING relentless in approaching, realised i need to step up and stop worrying about shit.)
EDIT: i have to note, korean guys are fucked up (in a mad respect way). This one guy i saw would pull girls that walked past him and try to pull them. He failed alot, but that confidence and relentlessness made me rethink about what i should be doing. Girl #5 didnt believe i was Australian since i spoke korean fluently, and i told her i dont give a shit about korean traditions, as far as i know we look like a korean couple (which i feel great about, because that means i can control my frame extremely well).

Nice work and good report! Octagon is a strange place, man. Lots of foreigners there too, a mixed blessing

Don't sweat any one girl. They're particularly fickle here. Also, ONS is not easy unless she's solo or her friend(s) also got picked or at least engaged for a while by a guy. You can get her out later for a drink away from BS social pressures.

Itaewon should feel like easy mode to you after octagon. I'd try to banter with a few girls in bars early in the night then reconnect later after exploring your options. Tons of guys flip to desperation mode as time gets late (early) which fucks up the vibe in itaewon (to me, at least)

Hongdae has tons of places. Are you meeting her during the day or night?

Note to self: fuck it! I'm going full cheat. Getting those in-soles + growing my hair out into that sonic the hedgehog look. Never considered it at 6 ft

Field report :
Itaewon Glam/Prost Friday Night

Entered around 10:30~, but didnt bother approaching anyone and just enjoyed myself, since i was running solo.

Set#1 :
Around 12am, this girl tripped infront of me (i grabbed her and held her up), and asked her are you okay. She responded positively, but walked away, since she was following her friend. Later, she reapproached me, asking if i was alone. (This is the one of the many times ive been asked if im alone....). Anyway, both the girls seem to be extremely in to me. (I spoke to them in english, said i couldnt speak korean well, and also lied about my age, saying i was 24 LULZ). The both took turns in touching me, (in my mind i was absolutely bamboozled, didnt know who the fuck was down and who was not, im not good enough to pull them both.) Turns out they're highschool friends. They kept asking me questions, and the one in red asked me if i was alone (again, wtf man). Eventually, the girl in red asked for my kakao (mind you i was grinding on her friend....), which i obliged and got both of their kakaos. Chucked a hail mary at her around 4:30 on kakao asking where she was, but she replied with "sucks". The fuck does that even mean? She seen-zoned my message after that, so what evs.

Sets after this were not important, since they didnt lead to anything.

Set #4:
Realising that most of the people there were in pairs, i moved to the chokepoint near the toilets. A girl kept glancing up at me, so i opened her in english, asking why she was standing here by herself. Talked to her a for a while, i thought about asking for her kakao, but i overheard her friend (just came out of the toilet) saying in korean what the hell is he doing? (i chucked the "i cant speak korean" line again), so i laughed and left. I saw her around the bar 4 times, which she always replied with a smile (But her cockblocking friend....). So i bailed to the dancefloor. (What the fuck is up with this small dancefloor, could barely move.)

Set #5:
Approached another pair (theres only fucking pairs here, god DAMN), asking why they were not dancing. She gave me the cold shoulder and the "look" (the look of, "the fuck you doing man") and i found it so funny that i cracked up in her face. These 2 girls ended up near me again later, looking to approach me, but i was busy with another set.

Set #6, Solo #7:
This pair was bumping into me one too many times, so i decided to ask them what was up. They gave me a weird look, so i said do you guys speak english? They ignored me again, which resulted in me cracking up again cause the way they shoved me off was so funny. This led me to lock eyes with Solo #7 (Fuck me, this chick was an expert at destroying game, i couldnt get away from her for an hour). Funny thing is, while i was talking up solo #7 (at this time i didn't realise that she wasn't DTF, since she didnt reject any moves i made on her), set #6 was right infront of us staring at me. Made me crack up again in their faces (i dont give a shit if they get pissed off, it was funny as hell cause they kept looking at me talking to solo #7.) Solo #7 was getting boring, so i said "im going to the bar, you coming with me?", which she then pulled the "dont be like the other koreans here". Cracked up again (korean girls are fucking clowns HAHAHAHAHA) and said "either way, im going to the bar, cause i want a drink." She LED me again (she didnt even say anything, just pulled me towards the bar), which she then stopped to talk to a guy (turns out he was a friend from australia as well, but its a guy, so thats a no-go sir), and i ignored her and went to the bar. Eventually, i spent an hour talking to her about how korean guys were creepy af at how the hit on girls (this one mother fucker kept pushing me while i was with set #4, and he was still at the same spot sipping the same drink 2 hours later. the fuck yo), and i bailed on her, saying i was going to the toilet (this is around 3~).

EDIT: I was dancing with Solo #7 infront of Set #2 (i didnt know this, Solo #7 pointed it out, saying that girl keeps glancing at you). Difference in culture is here again, cause when she just turned away from me saying nothing i took it as a clear "fuck off", yet now im thinking that i should have approached her again. How very peculiar.

Set #7:
On the way back, i see a girl in a red dress dancing to Shape of You (personally, i feel like girls who wear red are looking for it). God damn this chick was a fucking 9 at least to me (had eye smiles and everything, god DAMN). As i was walking past her, i danced with her and grabbed her. First thing she says to me is "are you alone?" (this is when i got frustrated... i needed my mate to be there FUCK). Said no, im travelling alone cause i like adventures, all that bullshit ya know. Her friend was giving her signals (im pretty sure they were the "ok go for it" signals, but you'll see later on why i couldnt pull). So as im grinding on her, i wave to her friend (step 1 of fuck up) and pulled her over. Then the red dress and her friend were dancing with me (no more grinding and getting my dick semi-hard, step 2 of fuck up, i should have pulled the red dress girl and isolated, but FUCK i could barely even dance there.) SO i bailed (step 3 of fuck up, i should have gone for a number, but i wasnt thinking clearly cause i was bamboozled as fuck.)

Set #8:
Around 3:40, im getting tired, so i challenge myself and say if you approach 1 more then you can go home. As im walking out from the toilet towards the exit, this one chick locks eyes with me 4 times (i was too far away the first 3 times, god fucking damn this place was packed). I approached, saying i cant speak korean well, is that okay (in english ofc, i realised the opening line doesnt matter, they either are attracted to you or not), and she gives me the "no" headshake. Once again, i cracked up, cause i was wondering "why did you lock eyes with me 4 times if you didnt want me to approach".

Lessons learned:
While talking to Solo #7, i asked her questions that i had about how i approached. She told me that i look like a korean (no shit...), but told me that the people who do reject/judge you only do that because you open them in english and not korean (goes against their expectations, surprise mother fucka).

I need to be more direct in isolation (my isolation game tonight was extremely lacking, partly cause i couldnt fUCKING move for half the night, and other half being that they were with friends).

Itaewon is not a place for someone that is my age and with my level of experience (might just be tonight, i'll see how tomorrow is) as I was told by Solo #7. (All sets i approached tonight, i lied saying i was 24.)

I feel like i need to improve my closing methods (i could barely bounce girls, it just felt completely unnatural to me), while i feel like i have improved alot in getting kino done (I have Solo #7s smell all over me, so im guessing i did okay. I dont remember cause i was too focused on getting feedback.)

Once again, i am extremely pleased in myself, since my confidence and frame never broke. Solo #7 told me that im a very direct person (she mentioned it out of the blue, and that is the exact type of person i wish to be), since i declared what i wanted from her from the start. This is one of the things that i set out to achieve by swallowing the red pill and starting to game, i want to say what i feel at that time, rather than regretting it later.

Will i be able to pull before my trip ends?
Honestly, I dont really know, all the girls i've seen roll in pairs or groups. I feel like i should be doing better (turns out i'm considered good looking in Korea, but thats not what i felt in Australia), but honestly, this is all valuable experience for me. And also, i dont bother talking to people who i scale under a 6, since, as i've been told, im a very direct person, and if im not interested in a girl, it will show on my face.)

Note: Funniest experience tonight:
At around 3~4, i observed that the small dance floor was full of guys just standing there and looking around for girls. JFC even as a guy i was creeped out by them (none of them were dancing, or atleast bobbing their heads enjoying the music, just observing and scanning for girls).

Field report: (No lay)

Saturday, Glam/Prost, Thursday Party (Itaewon), Octagon

Headed into the first floor (still duno which is which, doesnt matter tho) at around 11:30, and was packed as shit. I got stuck at the entrance for a solid 3 minutes cause noone could move. (Red flag #1, didnt have a good feeling about this night, and i was right.) Scouted the area for a bit (couldnt see shit, was so fucking packed) and decided fuck it ill come back after downing some soju. Came back after 15m and pushed my way through to the little dance floor.

The first 2 sets didnt mean shit, i wasnt really focused on gaming them, they were playing chainsmoker songs so i was dancing like WOOH.

Set #3 (group of 4 girls, all office co-workers. i realised this AFTER i tried..)
They were constantly buzzing around my area, so i approahced by smiling at one of them and pulling them sick moves. She responded positively, but it was a futile attempt to grind and escalate with her (had my coat in one hand and the other was.. doing shit i guess? dont remember). Was a good warm up.

Red Flag #2
While attempting to grind with other girls (girls seemed to congregate around me, guessing it was cause of the sick moves, or i didnt put off a thirsty aura like the other dudes there), when these 2 guys behind me push me really hard. By this time, i was peaking in confidence, so i told the guy that pushed me "oi be careful" (Aussie accent came out with no thought.. LOLs). Now his friend didnt like my attitude and started saying shit to me in korean (Couldnt hear properly, i tried to turn around). I replied with "i just said be fucking careful" (In hindsight, i shouldnt have said fuck cause these guys arent aussies, but i was irritated at that point). Then the guy goes off at me in korean saying "Noh Hangook-in Iji? Shibal wae yong-o sseo? gaesaekkiga ggabchinae" (Youre a korean arent you? why the fuck are you using english, fucking cunt trying to start me). I replied in english no im not a korean (LMFAO, jesus christ i was off my head). Then he tries to to make me flinch (i knew this guy wasnt gonna take a swing at me, even if he did, his body posture and the arc he had for the swing meant that he would most likely hit someone else not me), so i cracked up in his face. (i really need to stop doing this...). I then said to him in korean "why are you doing this?", and he says cause you swore at me. (i guess i was in the wrong this time.) Walked away from this and told the girls around me to be careful of him and his friend. (cause fuck you thats why)

Set #6: (Solo#7 from last night and her friend)
I saw Solo#7 walking towards me, so i waved at her and smiled. She was quite happy to see me, and asked what i thought of her dress tonight. I said that it was quite sexy (it really was, holy), and proceeded to just have a conversation with her (i fucked up, i think she was interested in me, but only noticed it after she left.) This korean guy swoops in after a while, saying that he has a table. Solo #7 looks at me and says "im gonan get free drinks" and hugs me before she leaves. (This is where i realised that she might have been into me.. but she had a mad shield up). I saw red flag #2 buzzing around my area, so i bounced to thursday party.

Set #7:
I walked in and saw this a 6 sitting on the stool, with her friend next to her making out with some dude. Took this as a cue and opened her asking if she dropped her bag. she shakes her head and looks away. I reapproached her after i got a drink with a smile, but she looks away again, and i laughed again. (i cant help it, laughing at a rejection gets it out of my mind instantly.)

Red Flag #3:
Sitting at the smoking area outside, i approached a group of people with a 7, cause why not? Opened with "are you guys from america?", and the 7 replies with a "no". (i wasnt even asking you but okay). So i say "i hear an accent though?" and her friend goes "yeah we are from america, arent you from america as well?". So i called out the 7, faced her and said "wow, that was rude" and then the group just stands up and gives off a threatening aura. Yeah, nah mate, im out of here. And so i bounced to go to Octagon (by this time, it was 2:30~).

Red Flag #4:
On the way to Octagon after hopping in a taxi, these 2 dudes are in the middle of the street arguing (in the other lane, but right infront of my taxi, if you know what i mean?). One of the guy clocks the other guy like one punch man and the other guy falls straight to the floor (pretty sure that guy has a concussion, i heard the thud from the taxi), and by this point im questioning whether i should go to Octagon or just call it a night.

Red Flag #5:
Not even 5 minutes after that one punch, the driver behind my taxi hops out and walks to the car 3 cars down, swearing his head off in korean. (Roads are fucked up, so we were hardly moving.) Now these 2 guys are about to have a punch on, but the bystanders stopped it from happening.

Set #8 (Octagon):
Hopped into Octagon and hit the dance floor for a bit to get myself back in the mood. These 2 beautiful girls in a twin outfit are hovering around my area again (they walked past me 4 times, glancing at me). The shorter one gets approached, so i took this as a cue and approached the taller one. She just looked down and ignored me and walked away. Not even 3 minutes later shes on my left glancing at me again, so i tap her and say "lets dance". Once again, she looks down and turns away. I approached her again after an hour or so, since i knew that her friend was getting hit on. This time i just say "are you looking for your friend?" (im was in the mindset of "fuck it, im not gonna see them again" (i did.. LOLS)) and she nods and looks away, so i get the hint. I tapped her on the shoulder and said in korean "your friends over there" (I approached in english up until this set).

Set # (i lost count):
I got tired of girls bumping into me and giving me the cold shoulder, so i walked upstairs and observed the dance floor to see if there were any prospects. Girl approaches me asking for a cigarette, and then we proceed to talk for a while. (she accidentally dabbed the cherry of the cig on my finger after i lit it up for her... ;[Image: wink.gif]. Turns out she spent alot of time in germany, hence her english was decent. I tried to lead her to the dance floor by her hand, but when we walked past the bar she let go and said she needs to talk to her friends first. Obviously i oblige, and then SHIT shes in a group of 5 girls. I let her talk, then whispered in her ear "lets go" (she was hands on with me while talking to her before), and led her again. She once again tries to let go, this time infront of the hip-hop area, and says something about her friend (couldnt hear) so i let her go. (I was irritated, because i gave her my last cigarette LOLs).

Set # +1 (i lost count, but this was the 2nd set i approached after cigarette girl):
I get tired so i go up to where the rooms are and just chill there observing. (its like 4am at this point) and this girl and her friend hops out of one of the rooms in the corner and proceeds to dance like crazy (green flag, she wasnt too drunk, but had enough to get rid of that social pressure bullshit). I proceed to drop some sick moves with her (my special dougy move) which she imitates, and then i grab her and start grinding with her. I start feeling her up, and she has her arms around my neck, but then she just stops and walks away after that.

Red Flag #6
After that set, while walking down to the dance floor, this guy bumps into me. I ignore it and keep walking, but he pushes me from the back and says in korean "watch where you're going". I just look at him without saying anything, and as i turn around he goes "shibal saekki ya" (you fucking cunt). At this point, i decide to call it a night and go to the cloak room.

So while im trying to scan my barcode thing, this girl approaches me and says "oppa, how do you use this?" in korean. Im on auto-response mode at this point (just wanna go home and sleep mode) so i reply "you just press the button." I walk out of Octagon, and then i realise how stupid it was to say that and walk away, without even trying to game her..

Lessons learned:
I need to be with friends/wingman when i enter a venue, cause that puts me in the right mindset. I was contemplating on whether to not go out tonight cause i didnt want to enter places by myself.

The red flags influenced my mindset and put me in a korean mindset, instead of my usual western mindset. Made me hold back on feeling a couple of girls up hahas.

I need to control my laughter (i realised that i crack up when bad things happen to me, and i use it as some sort of mental stabiliser (?), but other people can take it the wrong way.

I need to improve on my conversation skills and confidence. (im scared of approaching 3+ sets, because i dont know how to handle that attention and how to isolate the target from that group.)

I learned alot from this trip, and although i didnt get any lays, i gained valuable experience, and i hope to be successful when im back in Australia.

Prob not of much help now but yea. Not having a wing can kill you (doesn't pertain to just Korea)

Like when the girls were asking where your friend was, the one chick prob wanted a guy to talk to

I wouldn't say that you're alone though - people will think you're weird. Something I would say is that my friend was too drunk and went home early (believable)

--

"I approached, saying i cant speak korean well, is that okay (in english ofc, i realised the opening line doesnt matter, they either are attracted to you or not), and she gives me the "no" headshake."
- that prob meant she was down to talk but couldn't speak English, which is common for girls who are reasonably attractive

--

I know what you mean about the Korean mindset. But you gotta be more of a scumbag a lot of the time to 1) turn them on more 2) give them that Westernized experience - one benefit of being an overseas Korean is that they can be seen with a Korean person (vs. not) and still have a "fun time" that isn't so Korean/formal. E.g. I would finger girls in the club etc which of course can turn a girl on but also Korean guys don't really do that

Surprised that so many guys got in your face tho

--

I wouldn't bother approaching a group of 3+ girls, at least for a one night stand - unless there aren't that many people to approach - low probability

--

And yea you need to isolate ASAP - this is easier in a club where it's more hectic and girls can lose their friend(s) etc because of all the people, dim lighting, and overall more chaotic environment - use love motels if you aren't within a 5-10 minute walk.

I would say shit like "let's go for some air" "let's go for a quick drink and come back" - they would maybe say something like "but my friend(s)" - to which I would say "we'll be quick" etc - which is where good logistics help. Bang etc before friends start freaking out and lighting up her phone

Best bet if you can't get her away from her friend(s) is probably get the Kakao and hit her up near closing time - maybe her group may have left/split up and you can catch her for a quick drink/bang

--

And yea you gotta for the close - I don't know why you ditched "Solo #7". It's one thing to approach girls and "have fun" but if you wanna beat up the poosay you gotta try and pull any chick that you talk to for >~5min and/or seems to be cool with you touching her, etc. And yes, it will feel unnatural if you're not used to it/even if you're used to it - most of the time won't be a smooth transition

--

And also that last girl on Octagon would probably have been good, especially if she was alone - since it was ~closing time - gotta capitalize on opportunities because there aren't always a lot

--

But props for getting out there. Korea is definitely a hustle and you gotta be a shark

I'll be there doing a visa run from Mainland China, and looking to go out possibly that Friday and definitely that Saturday night, staying in Itaewon walking distance from Prost and Glam. I'm a 5'11", 23 y/o Chinese-American who does pretty well in Shanghai, where I live, but I understand Seoul is a completely different beast. I've made out with a few Korean girls in Shanghai, and might try to see one of them to seal the deal this trip (trying to get that SK flag ya know?), but am definitely trying to have one night free to just check out the scene. I'm also fairly new to posting on the forum and it'd be cool to meet up with another forum member for the first time. Cheers fellas.

Is anyone currently living in Seoul? I'd love some thoughts on how it is to live there long term as an expat:
- how easy is weekend travel around SE Asia?
- things to do in seoul
- culture shock
- Dating is pretty well covered on this thread. But as a brown dude, I am interested in the racism aspect of Koreans... is that hard to overcome?

I dont live in Korea but visit often and have korean friends/dated korean girls enough to answer some of your questions:

Incheon airport is one of the most international airports in Asia, there are flights to all SEA countries. Only problem you MIGHT face is time. I think its close to 9 hours to get to Indonesia and about 4-6 for the rest of the countries in SEA. When I think weekend travel, I think 2 hour flights max. If you're in Seoul, weekend travel to Japan, China, Taiwan or HK would be more realistic. Not saying SEA is not doable but something you can consider.

Things to do in seoul: Tripadvisor/Google. I dont know what you like to do.

Racism: You mentioned you're a brown dude, whats your ethnicity? Koreans can be pretty racist and unfortunately, I haven't seen an increase in dating trends towards people of darker shades.

Day to day life should be relatively racism-free but there might be some instances where people act like dicks. Dicks however, are found everywhere else in the world too.

Still, koreans are generally hard compared to the rest of asia and korean women respond to game just like any women around the world, you shouldn't let this stop you from coming if you really dig the kimchi girls.

I live in Korea. If you're brown as in SE Asian, it'll be assumed you're a poor factory worker.

99.9 percent of K girls won't touch you.

Korea can be a very tribal and insular country; they still haven't got over the hurt from the Japanese colonial period. If you're looking for open minded liberals, don't waste your time with Koreans.

Cool, agreed with travel thoughts... Do you have any thoughts on how much those SE Asia and flights to Japan,etc.. normally run? Are you able to get quite cheap flights... I have seen ICN->NRT flights from about 100 bucks.. do they get much cheaper?

I am a tall Indian American dude that looks more Persian than Indian. i am fine with Western chicks and am not concerned with racisim day to day but more so in dating. I was in Seoul for a few days last year and found the k girls hard to open and game but was quite interested in the possiblitiies.

Flying into Seoul tonight and looking to go out tonight and tomorrow night, most likely solo, but would be down to meet up if anyone's around. Hopefully will get around to doing a field report on my experiences afterward, will be interesting to see what my reception will be as a decent-looking Asian-American (ABC) who can't speak any Korean. I do fairly well in the Motherland (Shanghai), but it seems like Seoul is game on hard-mode for a relative newbie like me. Challenge accepted.

Budget airlines constantly have promotions and if you could book your flights early, I think it could dip below 100.

I would let you know that you start with an uphill already because of your shade, there are definitely sections of korean women who are into darker guys, you just need to find them. Also, the hottest korean women tend to date exclusively korean men so they're hard for all of us, not just you.

A simple formula is knock one point off your value back in your home country when you're in Korea(eg. if you're a 8 back home, you're a 7 in Korea) so its not completely impossible but the difficulty level might be alittle different from what you're used to.

Good luck to you man, when are you headed over to Korea?

Thanks, I figured if I am having trouble in Korea, I can always jump off to all the other awesome SE Asia countries on weekends and have fun with westerners... Backpacker chicks.... too easy. There is alot of SE Asia I have never seen so I am intrigued by that. I just dont want to be stuck with all the sloppy looking English teachers I have seen around itaweon. Ewww

If I decide on Korea, will move there in a few months.
