Damn, solid ass data sheet man. The emphasis on the differences in culture is great. This should help me a lot in my decision on where to teach English.
The game there doesn't really match my style, but I think anywhere in Asia I'd have to put in lots of work on the social circle aspect and night game.
You say day game is very difficult there. What style were you running. If a 6'2 220lb well dressed white dude asks them about a pet shop will they still think I'm a clown?
You're going to have to tone it way down, WC. Lots of Koreans have this mentality that westerners and especially black people are more aggressive and (for the lack of a better term) animalistic than natives. A lot of local girls would get extremely intimidated by a big dude like you going up to them, even with something as innocuous as the pet shop opener.
If you must day game, I'd say play it extremely safe: open from at least five feet away, big smile and lighten your posture so you look as non-threatening as possible. Then again, there are so many English speakers in certain areas of Seoul that they might just answer in a flawless American accent. Just never know...
One of my buddies there was a huge bodybuilder type that would even freak out American girls but he found that opening girls by calling them "uhn-nee" in a high lilting voice and waving in the top-down Asian manner would dispel a lot of their fears and make them laugh. Hard to describe to a non Korean speaker but its basically the word for "older sister" when said by a younger female. The best opener that I've ever seen a foreigner use in Korea. Might wanna try during the day.
