Anyone in KL drop me a PM, I've been here a while now and I think it's pretty underrated. It's quite easy to have a very comfortable lifestyle here for quite an affordable price, and the city is very modern.
In terms of girls there is serious variety here, that's the best thing it has going for it but I would say the overall quality and ease cannot compare to nearby countries. The Chinese Malay girls are actually some of the cutest in Asia for me but in most cases you have to really try hard to get the hot ones. They mostly tend to date their own race, same goes for the Malays and Indians. Still hasn't stopped me having fun with some of them though.

Little update on KL:
- still one of the best and cheapest place to live with a 'First World Character' with an endless summer - seems it has gotten even cheaper
- maybe it is just me but there are just so FEW 6+ girls now - you can go days without seeing one
- KL has gotten the feminist bug big time now - girls that come out on dates have the full 'we hate men' virus symptoms
- Daygame is challenging (was never easy here)
I'd go so far as to say skip KL when you are after girls. If you have a job opportunity or just want to live on the cheap this place is still awesome!

I'm looking at Malaysia for a 12 night trip so this was a worthy read.

Interesting, I do know there are some good looking girls there but I also have never thought it was a destination for women. Granted I have only done two short trips there to see MotoGP at Sepang but otherwise KL does have some good attributes and could make a good homebase.

I was recently in KL to check if this could be a potential base.
Went once before but too long ago to remember..
The positives noted in this thread are there....modern, great food, relatively clean.
But it certainly didn’t give me a buzz that would make me want to move there. The city is very sedate. And while it’s a moderate Islamic country, I saw more burkas (local or tourist who knows) in my short stay than I would like to...
Girls are very meh...3 days of walking around the busy city and I did little head turning. There were some cute girls at one of the bars I checked out, but mostly in groups and some of them were clearly expats
Verdict: not a bad place to visit or get a job placement to; just don’t think I’d go out of my way to move there

For pure touristic & culinary purposes, how long should I stay in KL before bouncing to another Asian city?

Hottest girls in SEA are Malaysian. I think its the middle eastern add mixture, giving them the curves. They are hard to lay, but I got the flag. Can't wait to return

I'm there right now. Although I was staying at a girls house I met last year here. We went penang and back to KL. Got myself an apartment so I can chill out. I already know maybe 7 girls from here so I don't need to go and game - just a message to say I'm in town. Hottest girls I seen here were at Getting Highlands and they were mainlanders. Rest I seen walking around were just cute at best. I'm at KLCC, I got tomorrow day time that is free.

This is the worst SEA country for girls, very islamic, KL girls have bad attitudes too, the indian influence makes it worse , the fact that malaysian dudes flock to thailand to get laid is already a red flag, go to KL for food and shopping not girls

KL is a decent if underrated city on the Southeast Asia circuit. Been coming in every few months and find that it offers good value compared with other cities in the region.
Food is excellent and well priced. This has been written about enough, but the street food is excellent and mid to high end restaurants are superb. For example, a few weeks ago I ate some of the best Japanese food I've had outside of Japan at Ikeru, which set me back about $80 and then the next night I ate street food for about $6 and was stuffed.
Hotels are perhaps the best value in the world. 4.5 star hotels are $60 and true 5 star experiences are the cost of a Hampton Inn in the US. The Grand Hyatt overlooks the Petronas Towers and is usually $130-150 per night.
KL has had some good bars come into play in the last year or so. I checked out Iron Fairies a couple weeks ago right after its opening and was on par with some of the other bars under the same branding across Asia.
The women are quality at the high end. A lot of 3's and 4's but at the higher end the Chinese Malaysians are more than good looking enough. Living a good lifestyle and staying in nice hotels you can definitely crack open access to them.

Started coming to KL a lot more for work and had a good buddy recently move there. If I were to move to KL then I would most definitely stay in Bangsar and rarely bother going into the city to party unless a very special occasion.
Although Bangsar doesn't have an out-and-out club there are loads of cool little cafes, bars and restaurants and some small clubby venues which do go on late. It's an ideal area where you could get a good dinner, and go party without going totally nuts out.
Got chatting to a few of my buddy's colleagues there who travel around SE Asia a bit like I do, including guys experienced in living/partying in Singapore and Jakarta. They tell me KL is generally shit for nightlife and they don't really bother partying hard. Instead prefer to take it easy then save their energy for Jakarta, Bangkok, Bali or wherever
Was at the Iron Fairies also a while back and had a decent night (semi-hidden room at the back was playing some banging tunes). However, given it was arguably one of the hottest place to be that night (soft opening of a well established nightlife name) I wasn't totally blown away by the quality of the talent. For sure there were some hotties, but only a few. A lot of very average looking chicks. On top of that there were some seriously thirsty dudes sharking around and a couple of whom were hanging around our group as we had a couple decent looking girls with us. The guys got nowhere with them, but they stuck around all night displaying some world class persistence, pissing the girls off and generally just stinking up the evening for everyone. Something I would expect from a shitty club but not IF.
I'll continue to suss the place out more when I go up for work, and see how my buddy goes when he's more established. But already he's deciding to go down a healthy lifestyle path and try not go out too much. Like his colleagues, saving the big nights out for when he's back in Jakarta, Bangkok or Bali

This is the only SEA city alongside Burma that i have failed to capture a local flag in,KL girls are among the ugliest ive seen in SEA, its not worth the effort here, even singapore is easier, the food and prices in KL are great though, but please do not travel alone, bring your thai/vietnamese/white whatever girl with you.. or else you will be frustrated i think its a great place if you are a muslim perhaps

Bangsar is OK if you’re already in a group and looking for something convienient. Otherwise it’s a sausage fest. The (very few) decent girls are in big mixed groups. I stayed there two weeks. The only group I ever felt compelled to open was a mixed set of expats on a weekend night. They were fun and we danced (only ones dancing all night) but the girls were fugly so I quickly ghosted. I only saw a few WBs in the course of an evening compared with TREC (which has way way more young hot Chinese) were people actually get up to dance and mingle. This was the case in every bar in Bangsar. I popped into all of them. That place has zero to offer unless you’re already in a group of people with whom you want to chill. The only positive demographic is there aren’t many foreigners walking around. Again, if you’re already in a group it might be worth sitting around and approaching the one decent girl an hour (or less frequent) that you will see. No sour grapes. I did lay a young Indian girl in Bangsar.

You can pop into every bar in Bangsar and take a look around in an hour or two. There’s only three short streets to walk. Some bars are open to the street. Easy to look inside and see whether there are hot girls. I walked into all the bigger places. None take more than 45 seconds to walk through.
Occasionally I’d see a decent girl in a big mixed group. But nothing like the amount of hotties at TREC. The ratios are very guy heavy in Bangsar.
The more popular places are a crowded sausage fest. Mixed tables were awkward to casually approach, mingle, eject. People do venue change a lot because nowhere has a good atmosphere.
A few of the more popular places made thirsty local dudes wait outside in the street. They usually let me pass solo without waiting. Kinda funny because I’d walk out a minute later shaking my head.
I usually saw one or two groups of foreigners out. Not a lot. More were usually around at dinner or if there was a football match. But nothing like Changkat.

Ah ok, you're referring specifically to Bangsar Village. We generally go to other cool venues dotted around other parts of Bangsar (Skullduggery, Mantra, Coley, PS150) but the Village does have some cool spots as well. But as I said, I tend to keep it pretty chill in KL cos there's generally very few decent birds anywhere in the city. Bangsar is ideal for that but if your general approach to a night out is 'get laid at any cost beast mode' then you'll burn yourself there extremely quickly, so best stick to Zouk/TREC (although fuck knows where you're finding all these hotties, been there multiple times, yet to see one)

I had the exact same experience in the three trips to KL. Always hopeful upon entry, but always leaving with a "meh" feeling.

Yes I’m talking about Bangsar Village. I never went anywhere else around Bangsar. Let’s face it KL nightlife isn’t great.
TREC definitely seemed the place to interact with the young Chinese crowd. There’s hardly any of them around Bangsar Village.
I went to several Chinese night markets around Selangor. They’re all the same. I didn’t bother gaming but did pass some cute girls.
They’re only one night a week and out of the way from central. But worth a try if you’re staying nearby. Unlikely to pull but it’s better than staying home.
I spent a week in Taman Connaught, which is in south KL near a big university. It’s the biggest night market in KL. Wednesday night only. Transport in that area is Grab only.
There are some girls around Changkat but it seemed to have a pay for play vibe. There is a noticeable older expat crowd there which is probably why. Lots of silver hairs.
I bought some drink tickets and went on a few dates around there with a young professional expat Asian girl. She paid for her own drinks but was dumb and had a few red flags. Cut her loose after a few dates. Went in another date there with an attractive Chinese girl who insisted on her bestie tagging along. I gave up on Changkat altogether.
Bars on TRECs outside pedestrian street have the same annoying group dynamics. I walked up and down a few times pretending to look for my friends, so I could elderly open sets, chat, but avoid the same annoying group dynamic stuff you will run into at Bangsar.
Sitting to drink with one group is very inefficient. Even when my target was single she was hours away from being ready to pull. Likely you’d end up with her number and go home alone. Factor in all the interference from her mixed group and it wasn’t worth pulling an all-nighter.
Inside the clubs was better. They had three main clubs. Only one of which had a crowd and dancing. Dance floor was popping by 1-2am.
I got annoyed at all the beta chinese guys dancing with bottles of beer and dropping them. Broken glass several times. Also hot as fuck.
I was able to use dance floor game and pull. Decent quality and young, but I would not say hot. Certainly better than what I got from Bangsar Village.
KL is like a poor mans SG. The cost of living is way lower. I got all four ethnic chop sticks: Malay, Chinese, Indian, Foreigner. The city livable. It’s not a shithole. It’s just a bit boring.
KL is great for a three day visa run from Indonesia. But most guys I met had long given up on that and were doing same day returns. They were over it.
I’ll concur with the majority on the overall low quality looks of Malay women. The decent to hot girls are mostly chinese blood. I did bang some young Malays with nice bodies and decent faces.
I stayed with a full Malay Muslim woman for a week. It was a Muslim area. We got some social media harassment and “warnings” from her neighbors. Oddly they were female not male. I think it was jealousy. She was also a bit sensitive to public grab ass and sexual joking which led to some arguments.
My recommendation would be to look for mixed race girls. They’re often pushed out of the dating market in both their communities. The Christian/Catholic Chinese-Malays are a great option.
The only Muslims who will date the Malay/Chinese mixed seems to be visiting Turks. These girls are open to Anglo foreigners (unlike most of the full blood Chinese community). Most full Chinese girls I interacted with had never had a foreign boyfriend. So they were fruatrating to game.
