While in Thailand say you meet a nice thai girl you like and start hanging out are you always expected to pay for everything? Do all the women from thailand just look at white tourists as a paycheck now?

I have been on thaifriendly and wasn't sure if alot of the girls on there are just gaming you for a paycheck or actually might like you?

This is true for every single Thai girl in the history of earth.

But seriously, I've had girls from Thai friendly offer to split the bill, and I've had girls who didn't offer. Never had a girl where I felt she looked at me like a paycheck though. Of course, I am young, white and handsome. If you are old and fat, you may have a different experience.

One of my regulars who I met on TF even spent about 600baht on pizza and refused to take any money for it. She makes about 9,000 baht a month. Although, I suspect she had one or two dudes back in their home countries sending her cash. So, she definitely viewed THEM as a paycheck.

In 9ish months in Thailand, I never felt like any girl was using me for my money. I did however have one girl steal about 1,500 baht from me. This chick was a school teacher at an international school, kindergarten I believe, spoke fluent English, went to a good University, and her family had money. She stole money from me because she's a piece of shit, not because I'm white, and not because she actaully needed it. I met her at an expat bar in Silom, not online.

I would say for a young, good looking guy, most chicks on TF are looking to have a bit of fun and get laid. Not so much looking for a paycheck.

My experience on Thai Friendly as well. All the girls I met on TF had decent sounding jobs or were at Uni. They never ran up bills on me during dates and some offered to split. They seemed to enjoy a night out with a well dressed white guy at a cool place, enjoyed their drinks, and enjoyed my bed.

Don't have any experience with meeting them online but, as far as BKK girls go I would say it very much depends where you met them, and what you define as a 'nice Thai girl'. The answer in a lot of cases will be 'Yes', 'No', and 'Both'.

I think a good indicator is if they are 25 years old and there preferred age for dating is 40 plus they might want money.

Totally depends. Some don't attempt to split, some go 50/50, some will offer to pay, some insist on buying the first drink as a token effort. There is no black and white here.

Just play it out and see how it goes. Not all of them view you as a walking ATM, lots of them make plenty of money or have well off parents so money isn't a big thing for them.

I think I just have the stereotypes stuck in my head and there are usually exceptions to every situation.

If you're meeting girls in tourist Sukhumvit clubs or after hour places then they are prostitutes who view you as a walking ATM. If you met them elsewhere (online, shopping mall, restaurant, normal club) then possibly not.

Yeah they arent generally after a paycheck, more just a nice night with a western dude. They'll happily let you pay for dinner + drinks, usually they dont offer, but then again it's understandable because they might earn 200-1000 baht a day and dinner +drinks + cinema could cost more than that. Some will though - there are more than a few successful career women who will pay for you and drive you around, etc.

As an aside, Im getting pretty bored of them lol. no sensuality or kinkiness, no fire in their hearts, no depth.. love simple jokes, iphones and.. well I dont know what else, nothing really. Eating, I guess. Not all of them, of course, but those seem to be the general tendencies. Im thinking Korean and Chinese/Taiwanese might be my favourite asians overall. (japs are exciting too, but can be just too odd sometimes).

A lot of Thai girls don't really seem to have any interests or hobbies. You ask them what they like to do and it's the same response from everyone of them "shopping, movies, hanging with friends, internet". They tend to only like Thai food, with Korean or Japanese being the exception. They are quite clueless about what going on outside of Thailand...even inside of Thailand sometimes.

Yea, it's kind of annoying. For me I think it's because on the surface Thai girls can look pretty sophisticated (hair, makeup, iphone.. etc), and BKK can seem quite cosmopolitan and developed at times. So you mentally associate the girls with the classy girls in other asian countries who have alot more going on culturally and intellectually. Gotta take it for what it is though. It's interesting how things can look similar on the surface but be so different under the hood.

I was thinking they were going to be innocent thai girls but after chatting with them on skype it seems they know all too well what I want. I said I was going to train muay thai and then they asked why I was on thaifriendly and i was like so I can have someone to hang out with.

Pretty sure they saw right through me.

Who are these intellectual girls in other Asian countries? Girls are girls. In educated, sophisticated Japan, it doesn't matter if they've been to a good university or whatever. They're pretty much preoccupied with trivia anyway.

There are rare women who can speak multiple languages, are artists or musicians, or are just damn smart and cool. But these are rare in any country.

And yeah, superficiality is common all thru Asia. Something about Thai girls though... I think I need a bare minimum of character in a girl, however that might occur - sensual, creative, thoughtful, fiesty...at least a bit of one of those! and I dunno, I just consistently dont find any of those qualities in Thai girls, whereas I do much more in other asians - both in more and less developed countries (i.e. Japan and Korea, but also Cambodia and Phils). I think it's cultural. Some guys I know really really like the Thai girlies though, so I guess it comes down to personal taste.

Cambodian girls on the whole are much less cultured, intelligent, worldly, knowledgeable etc than Thai girls. Most of them can't read or write, they have no idea about the outside world and they are very superficial. They lie a lot too. Most of these things aren't really their fault, it's more to do with the fucked up history and past of the country. The Cambodian girls I met did nothing but bullshit. Constantly they'd be complaining about only making $80 a month then they'd pull out their iphone 4, showing pictures of their holidays abroad, parading around in their new dress or shoes. None of it added up and they constantly contradicted themselves. This was with relatively 'normal' girls too so god knows what the less salubrious ones are like.

I was reading on lonely planet forums and a few people were saying that all the thai women will charge you no matter what.

How can you make it clear ahead of time that you aren't here to pay for sex without being a total asshole?

I also feel like one of them im talking to is trolling me hard.

She keeps calling me uncle on skype and saying I look old when I clearly dont.

I have talked to about 6 or 7 on skype and none of them have thought that so I think she is jus trying to pllay hard to get unlike all of her counterparts that seem to give in easier.

She also wont show me her face on skype which scares me.

I can't tell if she has decided to play hard to get because she has been hurt soo many times or she is just a lady boy or something.

What do you think about the girl who wont show her face and is trying to play hard to get? That seems out of character compared to all the other ones I talked to.

My initial thought is that she may be a ladyboy. That, or just a stupid girl playing games. Delete her and move on to a new girl. There are thousands of girls on TF, she is easily replaceable.
