She gave him a pretty bad rating for the date -- a 4 or 5 -- which is probably why she flaked.

A 5 is the highest rating. She gave him a great rating, but just flaked on him afterwards. You have to remember, this broad is already on okcupid. An average woman in DC will get dozens or even hundreds of messages per day on there, she is overwhelmed with the attention.

I'm curious if any RvF guys have gotten someones seconds. Probably good he didn't get the lay (well who cares).

Not 100% sure what you mean but me and Kidstrangelove have independently and before we even knew of each other banged the same girl.

Saying 'small world' doesn't even begin to cover it given that we live on different sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

I assumed it was a 10-point scale. My mistake.

And I've met both of you guys. Perhaps I should make it a trifecta.

You don't want to, she has gained a lot of weight lately while closing in on 30.

Solution: she got married.

Bumping this.

We got a lot of new members in 2014 and I wouldn't be surprised if many never noticed this thread.

Also, enough time has gone past since 2013, that I'd be a good opportunity for any of our DC brothers to try to tap that, just for the forum cred.

Catherine: I would say I’d give [the date] a 4 [out of 5]. I think [romance is] possible, but I would like to get to know him better.

UPDATE: They made plans for a second date, but Catherine canceled after falling ill; as of press time she hadn’t returned Scott’s call about rescheduling. “I’ve been really busy. At this point, enough time has gone by that [a second date] is looking less likely,” she says.

And women complain about how hard it is to find a good guy? Are you fucking serious? Bitch, you're 31, your clock is ticking, you met a guy you say you liked (who I think just about anyone would agree is more attractive than you), and you're writing him off because you "got really busy?" No sympathy...none...when she becomes a cat lady.

I think this speaks to a larger issue of women taking high quality men for granted... which in itself, isn't THAT bad. I take food and shelter for granted. But when you start bitching that there isn't enough of the very thing you've been taking for granted, that's when you start to sound insane. I don't go to the supermarket, blow my paycheck on as much food as I can buy, dump it in a landfill, and then complain that there's a food shortage. But women do basically that when it comes to men.

This sort of complaining is so totally useless.

He's younger than her. He's of average height and she's tall, there's not much of a gap. He's good looking but seems lame (notice the awful style). He also dolled out all the details about her signalling him to move to her side of the table and kissing him, which compared to her side of the story made her look like a liar and a slut in the national media.

So from her point of view: he's handsome but younger, lame looking, of similar size and made me look like a duplicitous slut in front of everyone I know. Gee, I wonder why she didn't return his calls. Him being better looking than her and (we assume) running smooth date game made her give him a positive review, but he fucked up real bad with his side of the story and it's no surprise she gave him the cold shoulder after it came out. Her being "really busy" doesn't mean she's actually busy, it means she doesn't want to see him again. Even middle school kids know that.

I'm with you on this one. Being consumed by resentment doesn't help.

I don't think I would have tried the standard anonymous meetup (e.g. OkCupid) type game, knowing that everything was on public display. I would have avoided any sort of kino escalation, particularly the initial hug and the kiss. Instead I would have arranged to be sitting on adjacent corners of the table - NEVER sit across a table from a date! - and charmed the everloving pants off her. A bit of casual kino - hand touches - or straighten her hair or clothes. All in all be relentlessly charming and draw her in. Tease her, DHV endlessly ... all A2 A3 stuff. It was just too early for mid game stuff given the public forum.

Second date's a bang for sure, once you're out of public eye.

The OkCupid story is just fucking priceless. Honestly one of the most uplifting things I've ever read on this forum.
