Booked ticket to Bogota

Just to give an update on Bogota now that I am in Medellin...

Bogota is an amazing city. Colombians are verrrry friendly, and I get the feeling girls like to fuck with their eyes here. I´ve been out most days and I have not had one bad night (with the exception of my last, and that was only because 7 days of drinking can finally catch up).

I was fairly lucky because my hostel host was very nice and directed us to all of the great places around Bogota and we all went as a group, all of us fun loving, so it made for good vibes. I met some Brazilian girls the first night at this pretty fun (and muy packed) club, and another night I was sitting on the terrace of a salsa club smoking a cigarette and this girl came out and started dancing with me and in no time was sucking on my neck. In conclusion, I have the feeling that Colombian girls are very passionate.

Colombian, and the Bogota accent in particular, is considered one of the clearest Spanish accents. My Spanish sucks right now, but I can understand enough to agree that their spanish is very clear.

As for living expenses, there were people living in La Calenderia (old and somewhat sketchy part of Bogota) renting a room for $200 per month. Food is incredibly cheap. You can get a decent meal for around 5000 pesos w/ drink which comes out to around $2.5 USD. Nightlife is still pretty cheap (by American standards) as long as you´re doing it the Colombian way... which is buying a bottle of rum or aguardiente and sharing it with a few people. Otherwise, as long as you stay out of Zona Rosa, your costs will be pretty damn incredibly low... and of course this is all dependent on how often you go out.

This is my first day in Medellin, so I´m going to go out and check this city out, but so far it looks very cool.

I can already feel a major difference in the personality of the two cities. That report is to come.

Ha!! Told ya guys! Salsa and latina women is like gasoline and a match! Immediate fire!

Great to hear you had a great time in Bogota! Looking forward to an update on this city.

Guys, I booked my ticket for Bogota at the end of next month for 4 days.
My buddies and I are trying to figure out whether it is better to get a hostel or split a hotel room (its 5 of us).
and where should we stay in the city?

any recommendations?
I personally like hostels to meet hot foreign chicks, dunno if that is relevant in Bogota though.

Uummm...why would you want to meet foreign chicks when you have hot ass colombianas dying to bang you? Fuck the foreign chicks - waste of time, unless they are literally throwing their pussy in your face aggressively. Colombianas, will, as you read, make moves on you!

Armanid27,
Thanks a lot for all your very useful info about Colombia. I'm sooo tempted to go there in the next few months, it's not even funny. I'm even considering skipping my usual playground of Brasil for giving Colombia a try. Btw, how is safety down there? And also, when travelling between cities, is it safe to bus it or should I do as I do in Brasil and that is fly it always?
Also, my Spanish is a bit rusty. I understand it fairly well as I speak fluently Portuguese, Italian and French but it's a challenge for me to speak Spanish and not Portunhol as I did in BA when I was there or when I'm here in my town talking to Latinos/Latinas.

Suerte.

Man, I am down with Eastern Europe! I don't know why there isnt more excitement on the forum about it.

I mean I think its has all of the appeals of SA: Hot feminine girls & low cost living. Why aren't we hitting it up?

Colombia is actually on par with Brasil as far as safety goes, I'd probably even go as far as saying you are more prone to crime in Brasil, than you are walking in Medellin/Bogota/Cartagena or even Cali, Colombia. If you can survive Brasil Colombia is a lot easier to enjoy - seriously.

I don't think I have ever heard of anyone I know complaining about being in danger while walking the streets of Medellin/Cali or Bogota or Cartagena.

Since you do not speak Spanish, Portunol is not going to help. Brazilians hear more Spanish, than Colombians hear Portuguese. Even Argentinians hear more Portuguese as much as they'd hate to admit so. This means you will have to stick to major cities, where English is moderately understood. Places like Bogota, Cartagena or Santa Martha, are great starts for you, until you graduate to more advance Colombia game.

I am in Colombia in May, so you can definitely take advantage of going with somebody that is fluent in Spanish, before we cause damage in Montreal. =)

Busing it in Colombia is very safe, so long as you travel during daylight hours, and take reputable bus companies that are well known by locals. The north part of Colombia is 10x safer by bus, compared to the southern parts of Colombia (any city south of Cali - be very cautious).

So, if you were busing between the cities of Bogota -> Medellin -> Cartagena - you are very safe! You can even bus between Medellin and Cali with relatively good security. Just stick to daytime routes for extra caution - mornings are best!

Now, speaking of French, I did quick testing of waters in Montreal. I facebooked, about 30 women from Montreal, introducing myself like a cool cat that I am, and telling them I was looking for friends to show me around and enjoy some cool times with during my visit to Montreal in June.

This was 8 days ago, and 0 responded - grrrrr!

I facebook'd 15 Colombianas and 11 responded with the same message - jummmm...

Not sure if Montreal girls have to be gamed - head on vs Facebook gaming.

Food for thought.....

Next month my friend, next month I will back to my safe haven: Czech Republic.
If I had spend the amount of cash in Eastern Europe that I spent in Brazil I would have probably banged the daughter of the president of Czech Republic.

Czech Republic globally speaking is better than Brazil (I have yet to visit other countries in SA). Even with all the racisms issues Czech Rep. is much safer than Brazil.

I can´t even imagine the amount of damage one can do on those countries if they know how to speak the local language.

After doing Iceland and Brazil I can genuinely say that if you want easy, inteligent, good looking girls, there is no place like Eastern Europe and for me specially Czech Republic.
I´m starting to think that I will probably end up my days there.

I will visit Poland and Hungary in June.

"By watching Hollywood you'd think that SoCal has the beautiful beaches"

"California" is the greatest marketing scam ever created.

I am planning to go to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania (one or all three) in September.

What EE nations do you recommend? In what order of attack?

To isolate - always be polite and just ask! "hey, I really like your gf, and she seems to like me, do you mind if I convince her to marry me tonight?" say something funny, and they will approve to take her someplace nearby to isolate. Always suggest a place where all her girlfreinds will at least be able to to see her - like a couch over, or the next table..never take her completely away - they will cockblock you!
Armanid27 I know you have a Spanish background do you do all of your approaches in Colombia in spanish or do you mix in English for exotic flavor?

Depends on the girl, and situation.

2 examples:

Ex 1: If I am approaching with day game at a cafe in Medellin, I approach in English at the higher end/upper class neighborhoods, and then apologize for forgetting I am not in New York - this immediately gives me social value as she will know I am foreign born (high value), and can speak fluent Spanish (very interesting man).

Ex 2: If I am in a remote city/small town where English is not spoken at all, then I approach in Spanish, but I do it with an accent as to immediately Identify myself as a foreigner from Puerto Rico or Spain.

Point being is that all women like something different than what they are used to hearing everyday, and somebody who speaks fluent Spanish is very interesting, especially with a foreign accent that does not label you another "perro Colombiano".

However, speaking the local language, and then moving on and actually picking up some local street slang helps build comfort and seal the deal 100x faster.
