I never said it was safe or healthy, but if you want to drop serious weight quickly, consult your doctor and hit this up. It's basically the mother of all crash diets.
Still I recommend ElJefe's paleo suggestion.

A good tip if you don't want to stop drinking:
Drink on an empty stomach.
Make sure you're not stuffed with dinner.
This way you will need to drink less.
And less food is converted to fatty acids.

The best way to lose weight quickly (and safely) would be to go on a 700-800 calorie deficit & up your fiber intake (green veggies, strawberries, whole wheat products) to you feel full during the day.

Yeah MidWest, a protein sparing modified fast will nuke a shitload of weight very quickly. You'll be in deep keto and it will be fairly miserable starting out. Read that link I posted.

I'm on the "have no money and no food so you mooch off of the girls you bang while being stressed/occupied by finals diet".
Lost 6lbs in just over a week and I just repped out 370x5 on the deadlift (that was my 1rm a month ago).

What's worked for me, in apparent order of importance:
1) No sugar
2) No grains, chips, potators, concetrated carbs of any kind. No fruit juice except some of that green juice stuff with algae cuz that's good for you.
Maybe some fruit not too mcu, bananas have a lot of potassium which is good when losing weight. Atkins recommends 1/2 teaspoon salt per day.
3) No booze, at all.
4) Protein, about 1 gr per lb of lean body weight, (..Chicken, MetRX, Greek Yogurt, Salmon) --not more because you should have a good amount of calories in satisfying fat.
5) The rest of calories in fat.
6) Enough veggies to keep you from being constipated
7) A couple 2-3 hour aerobic jaunts per week, low-to-mid intensity. hydrate. I ride a mountian bike about 20 miles. Also 15 min daily of bike riding.
Try not to go too hard, if you feel all adrenalined up after finishing or next day, you have released too much cortisol which will start to stress you out and cause you to retain water or other weight.
8) Careful weight lifting a few times a week (i'm over 50 and I pulled a muscle about 6 months ago and couldn't lift for 4 months.)
9) Multivite and fish oil
10) All the sleep you want. Do not try to skimp on sleep, you will break down from hunger and gorge. Try to sleep regluar hours.
11) A stress free environment, no hassles with roomies, bosses, assholes of all persuasions.
12) Weight self every day, you shouldn't go up more than 2 lbs in a day and should lose 1/4 to 1/2 pound most days.
13) Never, never stuff yourself, It will take you three days of dieting to undo that one day.

i cut out soft drinks, fast food and munchies back in January of this year when i discovered this place and have dropped 6kg since then just by removing that stuff from my diet and cooking dinner each night.
I also walk for half an hour a day more now then I used to and cut my alcohol intake by 90%
I really do miss the soft drinks but its worth going without and have finally worked out that losing weight and maintaining that loss has nothing to do with going on a diet and everything to do with having a healthy life style.

Here is what worked for me-
Drop processed foods and wheat
Take in carbs through vegetables and fruits
Take in fats mainly through nuts and meat
Take in protein from any source possible.
Take about 1.5 times your body weight in protein. This is 40% of all your caloric intake.
For the rest 60% take in 33% from fats and 28% from carbs.
Workout:
I used bodyweight exercises and jumprope. While doing pushups and squats train to failure and work your way up to doing pistol squats or one-armed pushups. (for more info by convict conditioning).
Pickup a martial art. It will keep you in shape, make you confident and let you use the abilities you built up working out in the ring.
I lost 40 pounds this way, presently trying to lose the last 30 in order to get down to 8% body fat.

@IKNOWEXACTLY - Good stuff right there, man. I am not sure about #12 since the scale can be a liar. What I do is weigh myself once a week and take a picture of myself (in shorts) from the front, side and back. I wanted to document the change over time (for my own information; not to be posted all over the world on the net).
I have started doing some of these steps on my own over the past month, and it is starting to pay off. My goal is to loose 40 - 50 pound while building muscle and sticking with the healthy lifestyle. I am definitely motivated to get this done, although I know it is going to take some time to loose the weight. It didn't get here overnight, and it won't leave overnight. It is going to take time, focus, dedication and hard work.
