Here in NY Mayor Bloomberg did just that. He mandated that restaurants cook in different kinds of oils. Foods like deserts, that wouldn't taste the same or have the same consistency if cooked with different ingredients, are the exceptions. Restaurants found that it didn't change the taste of most of the foods they cooked, so after initial objections, it worked out fine. Before that, he had certain sugary drinks removed from vending machines in schools. I think he launched an assault on salt, but I'm not sure how that turned out. NY is at the top of the list of fattest cities, so he felt it was in the public interest to try to do what he could to make food a little healthier. Fatties are still going to stuff their faces at the same rate, but I don't see the great harm these changes have made.

LOL kind of like how they use the term "BBW" in porn. Some of these fatties remind me of that big bullet that you had to run or duck from in the early Mario Bros games.
BBW has been officially adopted by fat chicks nationwide, not just in porn. Every fat chick on dating sites uses it with pride and defiance. If I got paid for everytime I saw a tag line with a variation of "I'm a BBW, and if you can't handle that get off my page" I'd be a millionaire. The funny thing is, they could join dating sites specifically for BBWs, but they don't because they don't want to be fetishized. They don't want a guy that's attracted to them
because they're fat, but they want a guy that's attracted to them
despite the fact that they're fat. So they go on other sites and expect a guy to look past all that to the person they are inside.

That would be as good if not better - you would expose many men to our beliefs but would not have to worry about office (heh) politics you would be exposed to.

There is a big argument going on in Australia at the moment about implementing a junk food tax. Personally I think it is a great idea. Tax the companies that fatten up the population. It will force them to make healthier food and if they dont, the extra taxes they will pay will fund all the obesity related illnesses that cripple the Medicare in Australia

The controversy it would inevitably cause would be worth it, also.
Watch out, the way things are going someone might authorize a drone strike on you.
Has anyone ever thought about trying to get on the news to put our beliefs out there? Not spitting game and fucking girls. I mean thinking outside of the box and taking control of our own lives...

The term "obese" isn't political speech or a slur---it's a clinical term. If doctors and health experts can't use clinical terminology, how the fuck are they going to speak effectively about problems?
Fuck it---I'm just gonna say "fat" from now on. And make it my business to say at least one negative thing per week about fatness/lazy fat people/fattitude, etc.
And black/Hispanic women aren't necessarily beyond fat shaming---depending on where you are. I live in Boston, and most of the black women I encounter are normal weight. The fat black women in this town can definitely be shamed.

It's difficult to logic my way through the fattitude nonsense,
especially when it's with people I've known for a long time.
More often, I resort to merciless jokes and shaming at their expense.
SK: You're getting skinnyfat, you need to get to the gym.
Dumb friend: No I'm not...
SK: You're in denial.
Enabler friend: WELLLLL at least she still has a cute face!
Dummy: YeaaaAAaaaaah!
SK: When you hit the gym, you can skip the shoulder workouts.
DF: Huh?
SK: They'll get enough exercise with you taking those myspace angle photos of your "cute face".

Starting next week HBO Documentary Films is running shows about the obesity epidemic in America. On 5/14 there's a piece on, then later in the week they're running a two-part documentary called "The Weight of the Nation," I think on Wednesday and Thursday maybe. Over the past few years, especially in NY, there have been articles in newspapers, and little snippets on network news about the issue. The real debate is what to do about it. I agree that there's no "sensitive" way of dealing with it, because it obviously targets certain easily identified individuals in society. Roosh linked to an NYTimes article regarding weight in the black community, but the author actually talked about the dangers of accepting fatness within the community, so she deserves some credit, not shame. The whole "fat acceptance" movement needs to be stopped in its tracks. With substance abusers, we all defer to the maxim that you can't get help until you admit the problem, but we shy away from that when dealing with fatties.

Terrible idea.
They'd just pass the costs on to consumers, and as an in shape guy, why should I pay more for food that I want to eat because other fat fucks are irresponsible?
Agreed, but... Why would you actually want to eat McDonalds?
I treat myself to fast food occasionally. McDonald's fries are a TREAT. Sometimes I jones for a double whopper at Burger King, or a Wendy's burger. The problem is folks that eat most or all of their daily meals there. And I definitely object to having to pay more on the occasions when I choose to indulge because the government wants to capitalize on over-indulgent pigs. All additional costs to a company get passed on to the consumer in some fashion - they aren't in business to take losses. A few cents get tacked on here and there, but it all adds up.
