Eggs

Does anyone else do egg whites for breakfast?

I have 5-6 most mornings. That comes out to roughly 20g of protein I believe and it doesnt fill you up as much as whole eggs do. The taste isnt great but the trade off is youre getting pure protein.

I go through 6 eggs a day, at least mon-fri, the weekends are always a toss up with what my diet is gonna be.

I eat 3 sunny side up in the morning, with a bowl of oatmeal and a cup of greek yogurt. Combine that with a protein shake and I'm getting somewhere around 60 grams of protein with very low fat. My entire meal is cooked in under 5 minutes.

I then eat the other three as hardboiled eggs throughout the day, normally as quick snacks.

Every sunday I hardboil 15 eggs in one bath to last the week. Hardboiling is fast, the peeling of them is a pain in the ass and to this day I still haven't mastered it.

You just simply can't beat eggs. If you have a healthy diet and an active lifestyle, you don't even have to worry about the fat content of the yolk. And I can get a dozen eggs for about $1.50.

Anyone here get there eggs the most masculine way possible - Drinking them raw?

You seem to imply that the fat in the yolks is bad for you. Also, are you eating low fat yogurt, with the belief that fat contained in the yogurt is bad for you?

What kind of oil do you use to cook your eggs?

How about bacon? or some other meat in the morning, rather than oatmeal or to compliment the oatmeal? cooking bacon does take a little more time; however, you already got the pan out to cook the sunny side eggs and you can use the fat from the bacon to cook the eggs.

I eat eggs raw sometimes, but I am NOT really a big fan of raw eggs, so far.

Yeah, I not sure why a guy would cut out the yoke unless he is getting ready to get on stage.

Carton egg whites are pasteurized. Your taking a already nutritionally bunk thing in egg whites and make it even more bunk. The heating might change the chains of the proteins present also, egg white protein powered is heated also ninjas a specific process to simply provide the protein, not sure if it's equal when it's still in liquid form from a high heat blast in pasteurization.

Egg whites are extremely overpriced and I kinda smirk at the bro-science in Bodybuilding about evil yolks when, yolks are as close to a natural HGH you can get. When you see a deep yellow and rich yolk from a healthy well fed chicken it's oozing with life. That shut goes strait to your body as beneficial nutrients and fuel. When people harp on me eating yolks I usually troll and eat twice the amount next time they around.

I don't even know why a guy would cut out the yolk if he were getting on stage. Fat does NOT make a person fat - a person gets fat from too much glucose being converted to triglycerides and then to stored fat. If you eat only protein, without fat, then the excess protein would also convert to excess glucose. Accordingly, it seems better to keep healthy fats in the diet, even when about to go on stage. Disclaimer: I have NO real experience with stage performers or knowledge of what they do in their final pre-stage preparations.

Regarding the video: I agree with everything that the guy is saying therein, except I find it very humorous to see the promotion of eggs from "vegetarian" chickens. I agree that it may NOT be good for chickens to be fed the meat of industrial waste by products; however, by nature, chickens are NOT vegetarians. By nature, chickens should be eating bugs, flies, worms, etc... and should be able to scratch through the various manure piles to obtain nutrients, including grass... and half digested grass from animals that eat grass.

Omlettes in the morning are a great way to incorporate veggies too. Toss any veggies you wajt into the omlette. Finely chopped kale, red onion, olives and some feta cheeze makes a great omlette.

I was implying (in response to that claim the yolk is full of fat) that you dont have to worry about fat if your active and healthy.

I just started drinking raw eggs today. Had four hard boiled eggs this morning, drank three raw eggs throughout the last few hours.

ill keep it up for the next week and see what if I feel any different.

Quick final aside: I'm all for a fatty breakfast. I love me bacon, hell I've been known to scrape the burnt bacon bits and grease out of the pan and eat it. Fat is good for you.

Has anyone else tried the ''only steak and eggs, 2 times a day'' diet, from famous bodybuilder Vince Gironda?

Apparently it's a great diet if you desire to lose a lot of weight quickly, plus the combinaison of good fats(eggs) + protein naturally boosts testosterone levels. Only water, black coffee and green(or any un-sweetened) tea are allowed. You eat steak and eggs 6 days a week, and the 7th day you ''rest'', as you can eat and drink anything (carbs, sweets, alcohol, etc.)

Maybe combining this diet with intermittent fasting would prove to be even more effective.

Starting out tomorrow morning. Will report my progress.

I believe that fat is good for you, and the yolk is good for you, whether or NOT you are active and healthy... The yolk will make you more healthy, unless, you have some kind of rare medical condition that causes you issues with it.

This guy in the video does NOT break anything down regarding whether cutting yolks would be necessary in preparation for stage. Even if some "stage worthy" guys cut out yolks, probably, we would need to see all of the changes in their diet in order to understand whether cutting yolks causes an issue for them.

In fact, as I explained in my earlier posts, I would think the opposite, that cutting out good fats, such as yolks, would be what you would NOT want to do when preparing for stage, and when you are trying to be at your leanest.

I've decided that the easiest way to get my egg intake is my usual three in morning and then one raw egg mixed in with every protein shake of the day. That makes my typical shake somewhere in the realm of 250Kcal, 6.5g Fat, and 36g Protein. I've done for two drinks today, there is no difference in taste or consistency of the shake but the color is slightly affected.

I use six ounces of water + one scoop protein + one raw egg. That's it. Six whole eggs a day. I'll continue to test it out for a couple weeks and see if I notice any positive improvements/negative side effects.

For peeling hardboiled eggs: push down to crack the shell, and roll with the palm of your hand.

Upping my egg intake to a minimum of eight a day, I'm about to enter a heavy training period and need the extra protein/fat.

I discovered egg poaching. That's my current strategy to getting most of my egg intake.

At breakfast i'll poach anywhere from 6 eggs and eat one cup of greek yogurt.

Three shakes a day, with two of them including a raw egg.

I've read that eggs also help your testoterone levels. Can anyone attest to this?

Can't say they do for me, and I eat a dozen a day at least. The link you refer to might be that testosterone (I think) is synthesized from cholesterol, of which eggs have plenty.

I stopped around late september early october with the egg experiment. I went threw a string of injuries that kept my out of the gym, and theres no since in downing so many eggs without working out.

I have recently declared myself healthy enough in the last couple weeks and get back into working out. Man I was out of shape, but that's another story.

When I was doing 6-8 eggs a day and 100mg of zinc, my test was insane. I was also lifting very heavy, getting great sleep, eating a well rounded high protein diet, and not masturbating. I didn't get my test tested, so I don't have actual numbers, but I felt like a champion 24/7.

Now that I'm back into working out again, albeit starting low and working my way back up, Ive got back into a 4-6 egg a day diet. Normally a breakfast sandwich of 3 scrambled eggs and some toast. Then a raw egg in at least one of my shakes. And a hard boiled egg or two as a snack throughout the day.

What about drinking raw eggs, Rocky style?
Has anyone here tried that?
I'm beginning to lift and exercise intensively now, and am focusing on a healthy, organic, natural diet free from harmful/useless supplements and vitamins (i.e. all of them, which I have come to believe are nothing more than marketing scams, with the possible exception of fish oil).

I eat eggs all the time. My favorite dish to make is eggs and rice.

Cook up some white rice and fry up some eggs a little but leave the yolks nice and runny, then cut up the eggs in the rice so the yolk runs everywhere.

I also recently discovered this Japanese dish where you dont even have to cook the eggs. The egg will cook if you mix into the hot rice. It takes virtually no time to prepare.

instead of soy sauce, I use sriracha sauce.
