Orange County - Datasheet for The OC

Another thread prompted me to write up this datasheet, as I'm always happy to give whatever limited knowledge I may have to this board. Feel free to ask any follow up questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

So I moved from LA to OC in 2004, and have been living in OC ever since. I spent 2004-2007 in Huntington Beach, and 2007-Present in Irvine. I've gone out a LOT these past eight years, with the caveat that I did not venture out too much past the cities I specify. Also, I had a girlfriend from 2006-2010, so that limited my out in the field experience somewhat. Luckily, I like to drink so I still went out a good amount.

Transportation:
Get a car, only means possible. No real reliance on public transportation. Also, cabs are fucking expensive. I never understood this as it encourages drunk driving and the prices are set by the County. Minimum 50% more expensive than cabs in LA.

Accommodations:
Depends what type of life you want, how much money you have, what type of girls you are into, etc. I'll go into more detail in the city-specific portions. There is everything from the ritzy beach cities to the shittier inner cities to the world's most predictable and organized city.

Apartments and homes are generally cheaper here than in LA, and you get more for your money. Of course there are exceptions (parts of Newport, Laguna, even Irvine). But overall you can get a bigger, newer nicer place in OC than in LA for the same money.

Girls:
Just some general thoughts on an OC girl. Overall what I've found is that it is not hard to find one that is DTF. The asian ones are mostly all slutty. If you have the "look" for the blonder surfer tattoo girls, you could pull easily. The sophisticated rich girls put out a lot too. Young girls are in Newport and other beach cities. There is a decent amount of diversity overall in OC, but they tend to segregate within the actual cities. Lots of Persians/Asians in Irvine, lots of white people in the beach cities, etc.

But living here and going to LA here and there, LA wins in quality and quantity. Girls in LA are just hotter – they care more about fashion, they spend more time on themselves and their appearance. Maybe it's just the type of girl I like, but LA girls are more attractive to me. OC girls also tend to look more fake and outside Newport sometimes dress like sherpas.

An interesting thing I've found recently is that a lot of OC girls in the cities I do not specify below live at home and are rather horny. Maybe it's living at home with family that makes them rebel, who knows.

Huntington Beach:
Moved down here in 2004 and left in 2007 for Irvine to be closer to work. I will say that my info is dated accordingly, and from what I've heard Huntington has become a lot more racist/skinhead/trashy than before. But oh man, was it ever a slut factory for the years I lived there.

The main night spot is Main Street in downtown Huntington. There are numerous bars all within a few blocks of each other. Girls are mostly white girls, beach bum types, tatted up chicks, hot surfer girls, etc. People are drinking all the time, and it especially goes off at nights and weekends. Summertime is absolutely ridiculous, have girls in bikinis walking everywhere, etc. The negative about summertime though is it attracts the inland empire crowd, which is usually ghetto.

This one bar called Hurricanes was effectively responsible for my entire sex life for almost a year. At one point my roommate and I would go there 3x a week. Had a dance floor and everyone would get hammered, great place. There are so many bars though that it is hard to go wrong. Fred's Mexican Cantina is great for Taco Tuesdays. There is Killarney's, Crabby's, Beachfront, and more. All are within walking distance and it's easy to bounce around.

Lots of slutty girls in Huntington, but beware it attracts the fatties too. Summertime Huntington is something special, come down to the beach when it's warm and your head will spin. But as stated it's a trashier type of place so not the place you want to mouth off or you will get into a fight. Also, the HB police are not to be fucked with. They don't mess around.

If you want to move here, the closer to Main Street you are by Pacific Coast Highway the closer you are to the action but the more expensive it will be. But you are a quick cab ride away as long as you stay in zip code 92648 and I found that moving further away did not impact my game at all.

Newport Beach:
Hands down, the best part of OC in my eyes. Hot girls, not that trashy, college crowd that parties, lots of bars, restaurants, etc. Newport is a lot bigger than people think who haven't been there. You want to live in the Peninsula if you are there to game. Tons of college girls that go to UCI, beach loving girls, etc. A common saying between our friends is that guys move to Newport and never leave. Girls who hit 25 move out because they can't compete with the younger girls. Again, this is in the Peninsula and not other parts of Newport.

For the Peninsula, tons of bars. Malarkey's is a college type bar that always has good talent and gets packed. Rudy's across the street is hit or miss, but people get sloppy here. Lots of USC type folks. Ranchito goes off on Tuesday in the summer for Taco Tuesdays. There is a Sharkeez here but it's pretty trashy. Woody's wharf has the sorority girl crowd on Thursday nights. Lots of other bars too, will have to go around until you find one that you like.

The beach itself is worse than HB or Laguna in terms of crowds. But it's more relaxed and nicer in a sense.

Other parts of Newport are the back bay (useless), by the airport (two clubs – Posch and Ten are there; decent but can get overpopulated with Asians/Persians), Corona del Mar (older chicks move here [25-35], but are generally pretty slutty), Newport Coast (where Kobe, Vanna White, etc. live, very rich but no real game opportunities). Lots of Cougars in Newport outside the Peninsula. Go to Corona Del Mar if you want to game some of them. A dinner at Gulfstream or Bandera on a weekend night and you will see Cougars galore. Another trendy spot is Javier's on PCH in Newport. Again, you are talking about richy rich girls. I've never gone to hit on a girl there. There is a bar at Fashion Island called Muldoon's, but it is a yuppie crowd. Sex can happen from here though.

Irvine:
Welcome to the most ridiculously comfortable, easy and boring city on earth. I moved here to be closer to my job and I had what I thought the girl I wanted to spend a long life with. Well I broke up with her a year ago and Irvine really has nothing to offer the single man. First, everything closes at 8pm outside restaurants and few boring bars. If you wanted to go out in Irvine, just forget it you already lost. There is literally nothing here worth doing.

Next, do you love Asians? Because that's what almost all of Irvine is. Literally you will never comprehend the level of Asians an American city can have until you come here. I live near UCI and you would think having college girls walking around all day in California would be great. Nope, they are nerdy Asian girls that ooze as much femininity and sexuality as a fat opinionated chick with short hair on her period.

But the City is extremely central, has an airport right in it, is very close to Newport for going out, never has a single pothole in the roads, and every store you can imagine is within 5 minutes driving. Also lots of jobs here. If you do want to move here and are renting, I would suggest the Village in Irvine. It is run by the Irvine Company who rules OC, has a very large young population and many social events for the residents. Lots of cute girls live here too. It's not cheap though (1400 for a studio, roughly). But it is walking distance from the Irvine Spectrum, Irvine's biggest mall and one of the bigger malls in OC.

There are only two places that you can even consider going out at night in Irvine, and this is if a bomb hits all other cities and you have to limit yourself to Irvine. First is the District, which has one night time bar – The Auld Dubliner. It's rarely ever good, really ugly people go here. Second is the Yardhouse at the Spectrum. I don't see how many people pick up here though as it's mostly a date place or for the arrested development early 20s folks that want to just keep hanging out with their high school buddies at night.

Costa Mesa:
A neighbor to Irvine and Newport Beach, Costa Mesa would be my second recommendation on where to live after Newport. Cheaper than Newport, it has a lot of bars itself and the only mainstay club in OC. Some night recs are Sutra (only club, but populated with Asians and Persians), Goat Hill (extremely bright bar, but sluts frequent this place), Memphis (restaurant that turns into a mini club, very hipsterish), Scott's (only Thursday nights, other nights it is an upscale seafood restaurant), Mesa (upscale lounge, very LA-ish, actually got a ONS from here on Friday). They built a new 24 hour gym there and apparently a lot of hot girls go there now.

Housing is a lot cheaper than Irvine and Newport, and the girls here are rather cute and fun.

Laguna Beach:
Further south than Newport, it is pretty nice. Never lived here though. They have a few bars that are fun – Ocean Ave on Tuesday nights has 80s night that sometimes attracts really hot white girls. The beach itself is really nice and gets very crowded on weekends. Lots of nice places to take a date too, overlooking the water, etc. Girls tend to be white, rich and artsy.

Other Cities:
Tons of other cities. Generally, the more north you go the more asian it gets. The more south you go the more white it gets. The more east you go the more ghetto it gets with some exceptions (Anaheim Hills). But nightlife lacks in most of these places with the exception of Fullerton, but I've never gone out there. Again, it depends the type of girls you like. If you love Asians, well then stay in North OC. If you love Latinas, Anaheim and Santa Ana may be for you. If you want the blonde slut, beach cities.

Daygame:
Best spots would be the beach during the summer; South coast plaza pretty much anytime, maybe the Irvine Spectrum though that's generally populated with families and high school kids, Fashion Island which is another mall.

Overall:
Irvine is wearing me down. And after about 14 months of going out all the time, I'm getting a bit tired of Newport, which was my destination 95% of the time I went out in OC. But it is a very nice place, very clean for the most part and Newport Beach is really awesome. Costa Mesa is my spot to take dates to, it has a lot of eclectic places that are cheap and if you play the hours right, can get some good deals to make cheap easy dates out of it. You can have a great time living here. Just know that it will never beat the "traffic" that LA gets in terms of opportunities. If I have 10 options on where to go on a Friday night in OC, I have 60 in LA.

And that's what got me thinking of moving back to LA. I'd move to NYC or out of the country in a second, but my work is tied to California. So LA is my next best bet. Hope this helps. Happy to expand on anything or answer any other questions.

Thanks for the Data sheet.

It seems like a place where social circle is vital to get laid. Is it?

Chicks need to be on rotation like a Netflix queue

Solid +1 if I can find the button to rep you slubu.

I lived in the OC for a few years too before settling down here in LA.

Overall comparisons/thoughts between OC and LA:

-more going on and places to go with LA.

-OC is more dead at night, so dead that people are willing to drive 45 min-1 hr to LA. Lots of places close early at around 8 pm with some exceptions

-girls are *slightly* more down to earth

-but that down to earthed-ness means less care on
clothing/appearance

-beach cities are where the white girls are at

-Asians in more north or inner cities,
Westminster: the world's largest mini-Vietnam, go south of Beach Blvd then explore in the side streets.
Artesia: little-India (2nd largest Indian population in US) and Filipino stores/restaurants in the area along Pioneer, on 183rd St, and surrounding areas
Fullerton: has a mini-Koreatown north of Beach Blvd.

Where to stay if you're a visitor:
Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach

Newport Beach - for access to the beach and good/decent nightlife options

Laguna Beach - same as above, stay near the PCH area

Huntington Beach - same as above but you have more access to some of the inner/middle city chicks. Just tell them to go south of Beach Blvd.

Unless you are concentrating in one area, a car/vehicle is *required*

Irvine / UCI:
Totally concur with what slubu said above. Do not even think about living/visiting Irvine if you don't want to be in a soul-sucking vortex.
This city is gaming hell but the UCI campus is one of the few gems this city has to offer. I would recommend day gaming the shit out of the UCI campus and then set up dates in the nearby cities. The campus is very easy to navigate--it's shaped like a circle. Visit only on the weekdays (whenever school is in session) not weekends where it will be dead. You've been warned.

The hottest girls overall are in the non-science/engineering majors (with some exceptions of course) so I would recommend getting a campus map at the Student Center and trolling the areas where Humanities, Social Ecology, Psychology, Arts or any other major not requiring Science and Math is taught. Each area will have a public plaza, sometimes a cafe, or eating places to game--such areas would also be sprinkled around campus and could be places to insta-date.

The campus also has a bar (Anteater Bar) in the Student Center, perhaps an insta-date spot? I would recommend doing the approaches near the bar if you want to transition to the bar.

Then there's the circle road itself, just go around the circle, approach, and then ask where to find such and such and do your ramble. There's also a nice garden in the middle of the circle called Aldrich Park where you can do approaches or a smoke break insta-date.

I have a few more thoughts on downtown Santa Ana / Fullerton but I must run...

I don't think so. It's doable to get ONS and go on dates without social circle. Thinking back to the three best quality girls I banged, one was a neighbor's friend (met her several times before then went out), the other was my brother's girlfriend's friend (just got setup blind date, banged within a few hours), and the third was a random pull from Hurricanes in Huntington Beach. Probably only the first one you would count as social circle.

People here go out to meet other people too, assuming you go to the right spots. You'll see a lot of makeouts (relative to America, obviously not Brazil or anything), people leaving in cabs together, etc.

I agree with G, I too use to live there for like a year. A terrible place to game. Why because it is spread out and crowded. There are too many places for hot girls to hang out. So it is spread thin. Don't get me wrong there are some hot girls. But it is spread thin.

San Diego and Miami is a better choice if your a tourist.

I hate so many things about Orange County that I could write volumes.

But anyone reading this, don't let me hold you back.

The most hate I've seen on this forum is on DC. So, OC vs. DC?

It's really not that bad. I've never gamed in DC but honestly there are a lot of cute girls here, awesome weather, great beaches, etc. There are just better places within 50 miles of OC (i.e. LA).

What a great comprehensive data sheet. I have to agree that the two best spots to meet girls are Newport and Huntington. Another spot that is turning out to be lucrative is downtown Santa Ana, the Orange circle, and downtown Fullerton.

Downtown Santa Ana is picking up. It's got a more latino crowd, and there are some pretty attractive latinas here, although the ghetto facto can be high sometimes. Yost theater attracts the electronic music loving crowd.

Orange circle is a place I've been to once so far, and it's got the same sort of vibe as Costa Mesa, but slightly younger. A lot of Chapman folks end up coming out here.

Downtown Fullerton attracts a lot of CSUF students, asians and latinas. Not my favorite place because if I'm going to go this far I'd rather just go a little farther up and head to LA.

Bumping this excellent data sheet.

After the rain & gloom of EE, I've been missing southern California sunshine. The grass is always greener on the other side...

I'm curious about south orange county. Perhaps an untapped virgin bubble? Would love to see data on Laguna Nigel, San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, etc.

Last year a buddy took me to a Vietnamese coffee shop somewhere down there in which the jaded-looking waitresses wore bikinis. Am I right that that area is good for checking the Vietnamese square without having to leave the US?

Good datasheet!

OC is actually a good place for girls. It just requires a lot of driving around and knowing where to go.

I actually think North OC is underrated. There are lots of hot and open girls of all races up there. It is also more gritty, crowded and fun than South OC which is entirely residential. Downtown Fullerton is a great place to go out. There are a lot of attractive college girls there.

Places like San Clemente, Laguna Niguel, etc are only good if you grew up in the area and have a social network. This is FoxNews country. The only nightlife is scattered random bars/restaurants far from each other. And in those bars people are hanging out with their same friends from high school. The quality can be very high sometimes. But be warned that people in south county are really really boring people.

If you are a stranger then as Slubu recommended it is good to hit up Newport, Huntington, and Laguna. Newport and Laguna are more classy. Huntington is trashier and sluttier.

Slubu mentioned Hurricanes and he is right about it. Across the street from it, there is Black Bull Chop House which usually has beautiful women inside, definitely the best talent on Main Street.

I've spent plenty of time in both places. Orange County and D.C. don't belong in the same sentence.

Just to add some helpful info. Here is a list of different ethnicities and the cities they are concentrated:

Vietnamese -- Westminster, Garden Grove

Mexican -- all over North OC, but mostly concentrated in Santa Ana

Korean, Chinese - concentrated in Irvine, Buena Park and scattered all around

Persian -- concentrated in Irvine and scattered around South OC

Arabs (Lebanese and Palestinian especially) -- concentrated in Anaheim, esp on Brookhurst Ave and a few in Huntington

Jews -- lots in Irvine and Newport Beach, but scattered in South OC too

White all-American WASPs - Concentrated in South OC and the beach cities like Newport and Laguna and Huntington, pretty strong presence in Irvine, and then scattered (though in big numbers) in North OC

I need to stay in Anaheim to visit some friends but I noticed that many of the well-located hotels are also near Disneyland, which jacks up the price on them. How can I find a decent hotel in Anaheim that isn't affected by the Disneyland location premium?

I used to live in Irvine when i was younger, and still visit in the winters. Overall this datasheet gives a great rundown on the atmosphere there. It's not a city-vibe at all; some comments from my side:

Newport Beach:
Hands down, the best part of OC in my eyes. Hot girls, not that trashy, college crowd that parties, lots of bars, restaurants, etc. Newport is a lot bigger than people think who haven't been there. You want to live in the Peninsula if you are there to game. Tons of college girls that go to UCI, beach loving girls, etc. A common saying between our friends is that guys move to Newport and never leave. Girls who hit 25 move out because they can't compete with the younger girls.

Agree w/ this 100%, i thought OC was boring as hell till i came here. i came for a big University High School reunion and it was pretty wild, the girls were high-end but still like to get and act trashy, just the way i like it.

Irvine:
Welcome to the most ridiculously comfortable, easy and boring city on earth. If you wanted to go out in Irvine, just forget it you already lost. There is literally nothing here worth doing.

Next, do you love Asians? Because that's what almost all of Irvine is. Literally you will never comprehend the level of Asians an American city can have until you come here.

This cracked me up to no end. #1 clarification: these are all KOREANS that he's talking about. literally at least 50% of Irvine asians are Korean. There are certain parks/lakes where you will not see another white soul. Sadly they only seem to make for good eye candy.
At first i never really realized how many Asians are really in Irvine till i got out and re-visited. it's pretty much heaven but, you'll have a lot of competition, so you better have a stunning golden body / flowing hair, or a complete hippie, to get their attention. Even i would be ignored unless i was talking for at least 5 minutes - having friends there for social proof is essential to their trust.

All in all just know that OC is good for house parties when parents are away. If youre going around cruising for bars/clubs, it'll of course seem like a desert. I always said that Singapore is a combination of Hong Kong + Irvine.

Wanted to spit some OC knowledge outside of the Newport Penninsula scene which really is the epicenter for traditional night game and beach surfer lifestyle game which are pretty much one in the same. There is one alternative lifestyle in OC that will reap massive high quality pussy.

OC Lifestyle Game In Easy Steps:

The hot white, white washed Asian and sometimes Persian OC girls dig this lifestyle that are usually all from upper middle class to rich families either on the coast or in suburbs like Tustin are into this lifestyle and there are many 8s. This lifestyle is similar to what I would think hot suburban Dallas chick would love.

- Love the Angels and the Ducks as a diehard fan (more so the Angels, probably an 80/20 split as far as hot chicks fan ratio between the two)
- Love offroading, dirt biking
- Own a big pick up truck
- Know alot about fixing cars and being handy
- Be jacked
- Know how to ride a horse well.
- Love country music and wear cowboy hats, boots, and plaids out to venues like In Cahoots
- Learn to LOVE the Stagecoach festival
- Start a country band and be the lead singer (I am not kidding - even if you suck I don't think there is much competition in OC and you will have groupies galore)
- Attend a mega new age church (there are many in OC teaming with Evangelist church sluts)
- Love guns and own guns (big shotguns and rifles are a must) and going to shoot and offroad out in the desert
- Love the River and going on floats or with a boat on it
- Love American beer and whiskey.
- Have some tattoos, but not too many to throw off your conservative baddass vibe
- Love to wear the color black with white trim or lettering including black flat brimmed hats or alternatively an Angels hat
- Get really into MMA.
- Wear Arnette's or aviator sunglasses your choice. Probably better to have both.
- Wear a gigantic black watch.
- Be tan or get a fake spray tan (not kidding this is SoCal being pale here is like having a disease).
- Know Las Vegas like the back of your hand and go at least 4 times a year inviting mixed girl/guy groups with you to build social relationships and social proof.
- Leverage Instagram to show off your lifestyle. This isn't a big anonymous city. You need social proof. Often times lots of it.

These points will get you the east wealthy suburb and ocean city conservative pussy that is actually extremely good. Lots of 8s that eat healthy, don't party too much, fitness freaks, and are extremely family oriented. I can't bag on these chicks or this scene at all, it just isn't a lifestyle I would be able to get toward the top of the food chain at easily.

Travesty you forgot wearing seashell necklaces and raising your truck. Your comment about church sluts is hilarious. I've always said that's such an OC thing - the hardcore Christian girl who screws around.

I agree with Travesty, but let me qualify his list by saying those things apply to a distinct OC subculture, although it is a pretty big one. This same culture can be found in the Inland Empire. In fact there is a lot of cultural exchange between Orange County and Riverside / San Bernardino Counties, although the former looks down on the latter. A lot of hot girls who go to Cal State Fullerton or Orange Coast College will be into this stuff.

There are classier scenes though.

For example, big preppy scene among the wealthy where really hot girls are groomed to be trophy wives. This is centered in Newport and Laguna Beach.

And a corporate yuppie scene for strivers centered around Irvine and Newport.

^ That rich yuppy scene is about knowing families with money, being a USC, Pepperdine, USD, Loyola Marymount alumn and is much harder to crack especially if you don't have the $ to keep up on the restaurants they go to and the trips they take. If you had that much money moving away from OC would be a much better bet. The corporate one you mention is just subpar and meh.

For the average man the Newport surfer lifestyle or the OC conservative bro are the ones most easily accomplished by the average guy who is stuck there because of family, personal issues, or a work opportunity.

Oh I agree - the preppy scene is something you're usually born into or have to work very hard to break into. The corporate yuppie scene actually has some cuties, but again you gotta be in that world of OC business / law / healthcare / engineering.

I was just trying to paint a picture of the landscape, with all its different parts. We are historians in a sense here at the rooshforum.
