The only other way into the forum if you do not have 20+ distinct rep points is to be PERSONALLY INVITED by an existing member. We trust that the member inviting uses good judgment.

Or if you've at least rolled with a few well known forum members in person and can be vouched for I think that can substitute.

Don't worry Speak, I'm personally inviting you! I just noticed Roosh has never given you a rep point, wtf??

But this could lead to a situation where all the forum's wealth of knowledge is being concentrated amongst a tiny amount of men and not shared with new guys and up and comers. Which would reduce the quality of this forum.

No one recommended "all" the knowledge being off limits, just hater sensitive knowledge.

If Air~BN-B hasn't already spotted Mixx's ad and flagged him for observation, I doubt they will take long. I would DEFINITELY change everything about the ad he mentioned here, price, description etc.

If you understand lawsuit stuff, once they know something is up they have to show they did something to counter it in puritanical, lawyer fearing Murka.

Anyone counting on a lack of whiny, litigious bitches in Murka?

If someone complains later that they knew, or should have known, they have to pay out more to some whiny bitch, or someone actually wronged.

Guys, don't worry about the ad, I have already taken it offline as I am leaving to Colombia in 2 weeks, followed by Poland, and then Montreal for the summer. I cannot host again until Sept./October 2012.

I think every guy that has the privilege of joining because they have 20+ rep points has contributed a ton of knowledge to the forum. We need are own playground where we don't worry about looking over backs for lurkers, trolls etc. I'm all for it.

We will still contribute here of course, but the other forum would be sensitive issues/topics etc.

That's what I call thinking outside the box. Well done. I don't even own a place right now but will look into scooping girls off of AirBnB, or telling my crew to try it out.

A private forum with vetted users plus some monthly subscription fee to weed out the snakes is probably a good idea.

I can set this up.
we don't have to charge though. just allow members with a reputation here.

Rep only = people will start trying to game rep. Rep means a lot more when there is no tangible benefits assigned to it.

I would suggest Roosh sets up a private section where all new threads are by approval only. If someone has something really great to post, it can go up after being reviewed. That way there is good stuff without cutting down user activity in the public section. This is stuff that would not be shared otherwise, so no one is missing out on anything.

From a marketing standpoint, "hidden knowledge" projects a great deal of additional value.

If roosh doesn't want to do it, members should just swap information by email or PM. I certainly have benefited from private info from other members.

As a relative newcomer and serial lurker I'd say that this may not be the best of ideas but it depends how you handle it. As others have said, the new forum may start out as a place for a select group of players from here to discuss 'next level' Game, but what would be the point of returning to Roosh's own forum? Roosh has a wider audience sure but most of the main posters whose opinions you actually care about would probably get a ticket to the new forum anyway.

I appreciate that players don't like to post on here and have the information they provide to be open to all, but I'm one of hundreds of guys who have visited this forum and (while not necessarily contributed a great deal) have learned a lot from just sitting back and absorbing posts from people who are more experienced than myself at Game. I don't have my own blog. I don't repeat the words of what I see here to anyone else in my life. This forum is a huge fountain of knowledge and the main reason why I don't feel like I need to contribute is either because I don't have the wisdom to give, or someone else has already said it for me.

On the other hand, I definitely don't agree with everything that is posted within the forum and keeping it open enables new people to come in and give different insights into topics. I think the real issue that we're dancing around is that this forum may be shortly flooded idiots who go around spouting advice but really know fuck all about actual Game. This will become more and more likely as Roosh's popularity grows, but it's up to us all to pro-actively work together to stop that - not just use an arbitrary rep system as a way of deciding who is worthy of ascension to a higher plane.

I think now that I have 100 rep points, it's fair to ask Roosh that there should be some sort of perks for members as they reach waypoints or milestones.

Good idea, but then it will be a two-tier forum for the haves and have-nots that siphon content from the public forum.

Great post Mixx!

As for Airbnb tightening their rules, they already have. The first time that I used it was back in December when I found a private apartment to rent in Kingston, Jamaica. Basically I did a search and I found a listing that had all of the contact information in the listing, I didn't have to join, I just called the number and was put directly in contact with the property manager.

I recently tried to use Airbnb in the past few weeks to find accommodations in Colombia, now you have to create a profile to contact property owners and their contact info isn't displayed right on the listing page. At least that's how it seems to be working now anyway, I emailed (through Airbnb) a few different owners and non got back to me, guess I wasn't cute enough!

It wouldn't necessarily lead to a drop in quality of the public forum.

It would allow us to post more exciting stuff (pics, details of specific parties and events) on the closed board. This is stuff that will never be posted on the public forums as it is. At the moment there's a lot of self-censorship going on because everything is indexed. Pics is the big one, but other stuff doesn't get posted for the same reason.

It could very well be a net gain with almost no downside. Except providing yet another reason to spend more time here!!

I completely disagree with the idea of separating out some forum members from others and creating an "exclusive" forum area.

It seems all other game forums turn out like this. If continued on this path I think there will soon be a $ fee to enter. I like this forum because the diverse experiences that people share from around the world are completely free.

It would be going backwards to set up exclusivity in any part of the forum, such as when happened after "The Game" and "Mystery Method" hit the shelves. Mystery's forum used to be free until the whole world found out about it and then you had to attend his $10,000 seminars to gain access to it. Keep the information free and flowing. That's what I like.

Hmm.
I dabbled with this a while back..a CS person actually told me about it saying he felt he was doing so much for people and not getting anything back.

He wanted legit people at his house..not just bums. so he started using that site for better quality.

I might have to check it out for traveling..But my places isnt worth any money for me to have anyone over.

Well, as soon as Mixx dropped this data, I signed up on airbnb. Already hosting my first person. Well, the woman looks about 20 years older than her picture, so no interest there, but hey, at least I'm getting some cash out of the deal so no worries. And she even made dinner.

Haha. What a brilliant idea. Even the price you charged was perfect. If you'd asked for more the renter would have demanded/expected fewer restrictions. If you'd asked for much less/nothing you'd be getting freeloading hippies ala couchsurfing - where quality is generally considered to be very low.

I should consider this, but looking at the ads in my city I see it's used almost exclusively by people renting out entire apartments, or people people running formal B&B's from houses. I have a 2BR apartment.

Also, I'm a bit paranoid about being ripped off. How would you reduce the risk of this happening, and also someone eg losing a building access key you supplied them, which is a bitch and expensive to replace.

But, man, it's a good idea. Don't listen to the people saying you're undercharging. Given your conditions (eg No overnight guests - at least other than you!) and selection process I think you've got the right balance.

First post. I've been doing airbnb in Manhattan for over a year now with great success. My main pad in the Village is rockin and I have an extra bedroom so I decided to put it up for $39/night. I did leave out the "perfect for solo female traveler" bit because I'm worried it might have negative affects on my other properties in the city if someone sees that tag line. Does anyone have experience with this situation? Also wondering how the transition would go from hosting to banging. A bad review or experience would not be good for me as this is a nice little side business. One alternative could be to create a separate facebook and open a separate account for my bang listing.

The listing has been up for almost an hour and already have 6 people trying to book (4 dudes, 2 chicks). I feel like if I tweak this right it could be a boon. Anyone else have experience or thoughts on this?

Here's another idea to reduce the chance of publicizing this thread's info. *Make it SEO Unfriendly. Re-name the domains or be cryptic with your text. Example: A-I-R-B-N-B dot com
It makes obvious sense to a human but a search index spider won't register that with the real domain name. Do it soon before it's crawled and indexed.
