I like the idea of timing her response, but asking if she's single can be pretty direct, and might give your intention away too soon if you haven't already qualified her; she won't feel like she has to qualify if you let her know that you're already into her. And, she must qualify because she needs to feel like she's earned the right to hang with you.
It would be cool to figure out a way to get this info out of her indirectly.
One way is to tell a story or do a roleplay. If you think she might have a boyfriend, you can make up a story about a female friend of yours who was in an un-happy relationship, but took the path of least resistance and didn't break up with the guy until it was too late, wasting a precious year of her life on the guy. Or something like that.
Then, you can read her body language to see how she reacts to the story. You can ask her questions that would elicit responses from her that might give away info about how she would act in that situation.
Also, when you talk about the story you can implicitly let her know that it is OK in your world to "cheat" in an un-happy relationship, so long as the other party doesn't find out, then she won't feel ashamed or slutty when she does it with you.
This also reinforces an us-against-the-world bond between you and her.

My standard go-to response to "i have a boyfriend" or its variant is to reply with "you are saying that like it is the greatest thing you've ever done in your life"
Field tested, motherfucker approved.
It has never once failed me in shutting american bitches up.
In certain occasions they even become more forward towards me. Especially, if i follow that verbal delivery with a body language IOD and a new focus on their friends instead.
Give it a go.

1st Post. Been lurking for a couple of months.
Girl: "I have a boyfriend."
You: "You wanna fool around anyway?"
Very Bold, Makes your intentions clear. Limited success.
Two weeks back, I was traveling out of state for work. Had been in this area about 2 months ago; met a chick at a bar and swooped her back to my hotel room. Bang! Had a fling for about a week then left town. Hit her up when I came back to town, told her to come by after re-building comfort...
Got this:
Girl: "I have a boyfriend now."
Me: "Don't invite him. He won't have any fun."
Led to round 2! When we woke up in the morning she had half a dozen missed calls and a bunch of messages from said boyfriend. I pulled a line from this thread as I lay in bed:
"I hope he's not the jealous type."
Led to a morning blowjob before I went to work. Thanks rooshvforum!

This is a really good line and I fully intend to use it, but as far as I can remember, I've only heard the boyfriend/husband excuse three times in my life. One time, I was in South Beach and I saw some girl sitting by herself eyefucking me. I approached her and it turned out she was from the north part of my state. A few minutes into the conversation, I told her what Jersey Shore town I was from and she abruptly said she was married. Who knows what the deal was. My community doesn't always have the best reputation. Another time, I was in Diablitos in Playa del Carmen (The guy working the door there is convinced that I am Eminem for some reason. He could easily go online and do a side by side). The bar there is kind of a horseshoe shape and I went to the part that is to the right of the entrance. I saw a real quality girl on the other side of the bar and told the bartender to send her a drink. A couple of minutes later, I went over to talk to her and she immediately told me that she was engaged and showed me a huge rock on her left hand ring finger. The only other time was when I was with another forum member and I saw some girl who was on the phone and didn't feel like waiting for her to hang up so I approached her. She told me, "My boyfriend's gonna be pissed." Whatever the hell that means. I think that was the only time the forum member or I was rejected the whole night and we were approaching constantly. For whatever reason, the boyfriend thing isn't much of a problem for me.

Excellent line I've also been using for years and I'm sure many players have.
It instantly makes them question their current LTR and girls are EXPERTS at finding fault with anything.

Her: "I have a boyfriend"
You: "Is he getting the job done!?"
Sexual frame, makes her realise just how shit her 'two pumps and a squirt' boyfriend actually is. Sets the frame that you actually know what you're doing.

A few months ago I started banging this married 8.5 - 9 but before that early in my first approach, she threw out that she was married. Instead of changing direction I full steamed ahead like she literally didn't say shit. Jump forward a few months later she stated that she used it as sort of a shit test and thought I would be thrown off. My ideology now is don't ask and if they mention it, don't pay it any mind. Unless the guy is standing behind.

I like this line. I usually say 'is it serious?'
But I think 'are you happy?' is more resonant

I've thrown out "Are you going to marry this guy?" Seems to rattle them a little bit and catch their attention.
The trick to these interactions is to keep it light and playful. If you come across too harsh or serious you'll probably weird her out. Women can't think on their feet like men do. They stick to canned rejections like some men stick with canned openers.

I've actually been using the:
"I'm not asking for your hand in marriage" line.
(Courtesy of Travesty444 I think)
BUT the last few times girls have been like "I.. Don't think so.." Or "I'm pretty loyal.." But generally after a smile or blushy laugh.
Now I realize this is frame related and I need to follow up well. I was thinking of just escalating for an instadate next time anyways along the lines of "it's just coffee." Something to try I think. I'm making progress but trying to take it up a notch.
Suggestions?

When you push past the initial rejection you put her on the defensive. In her mind she's thinking "Wait I just turned him down and he's still pushing". Her tiny little logic circuit overloads and she defaults to using her emotional mind. She turns on her "emotional feelers" and tries to read you. So what vibe you project at her is very important. It's the difference between her smiling and laughing or crying rape at the top of her lungs.
When you keep it light and fun she latches onto that vibe and let's you continue to control the interaction. You have to steer her emotionally where you want.
Every interaction with a woman is an insta-date. By the time you get her to the bar for a drink you've probably done 3 insta-dates with her and know her life story already.
I don't think women have gotten much sluttier it's just that the dating process has been greatly accelerated and streamlined.
A guy knows within 5 minutes if a girl is girlfriend material. A girl known within 5 minutes if a guy is "bang worthy".
Work on your insta-date skills fellas. It's crucial these days.

Would the dynamics be different if the chick is actually married as opposed to just having a bf?

You guys are awesome, was at a club last night and went to approach a chick standing with her two friends. We dance and talk and I shoot her a few compliments. Finally I go to number close as I could see her friends were not going to let her leave. She says "I'm sorry I have a boyfriend" I respond " and I have a gold fish so what" She fucking loved it, laughed and damn near changed her whole demeanor and took the number. continued dancing with me until her friends pulled her away. I could hear them saying your boyfriend is going to kill you haha.

I like Heartiste's response to the "I have a boyfriend line."
Girl: I have a boyfriend.
Me: I have three aunts, two cousins, one uncle, and a poodle named Rex, what else you got?

This is golden shit guys, but can you expand on how to mine its potential?
Say, she takes a long ass time to reply, you feel like she might stray. What next? Do you drop the issue and never mention it again and game like normal? Or do you mine the issue further for exploitation? (I always thought talking about her rel is beta, but what do I know)

I've just had this happen to me. Met a girl for drinks and 45 minutes in she tells me she has a boyfriend. She dropped it very innocuously and I just ignored it. I decided to use the 'when are you getting married line' another 15 minutes in after she dropped it a second time. While the line did have it's effect in reframing and turning on her emotional side, for future situations I would definitely continue ignoring.
Acknowledging the presence of a boyfriend brings his presence to your interaction and while it can be taken to your advantage, it inevitably places guiltiness on her conscience. And I would rather have her in the frame that I am completely controlling the interaction, that all responsibility lies with me.
