Zimmermans actions both before and after he made the national stage show, if nothing else, a severe lack of indiscretion in his actions. This guy has demonstrated repeatedly that he has trouble with anger, lacks self control, and/or made it to adulthood without realising that actions have consequences.
The background of a teenager who's now dead don't weigh as heavily when only one action resulted in his being shot. With Zimmerman we can look at his actions over the past decade and say he has a tendency, for whatever reason, to end up in avoidably bad situations.
If you are going to impose your will on the world, you must have control over what you believe.
