Gentlemen,
I am leaving for Bogata in roughly one week. I have done zero recent research in regards to gaming as that is not my number one reason for going.
Rottenapple wrote about indigenous people using medicine etc awhile back and that will be my main focus.
It's my intention to hang out in Bogata for a bit and make my way to the Amazon to partake in an Ayuasca ceremony (or several) and go from there.
I have a more involved plan that I prefer to keep private for now but of course I want to meet up with whomever is around and see and do what there is to see and do as long as it doesn't conflict with my number one priority.
For years I have had chronic fatigue, it's only after drinking a ton of coffee am I able to get into the gym. I always feel lethargic.
I believe the reason for this is because I've done some pretty extensive damage to my microbiome (the trillion or so bacteria that live in the gut and everywhere else) through overuse of antibiotics and environmental factors that are poisoning all of us every day.
I believe I can rebuild my microbiome.
This has been what my book that I've been working on for the past many months is about.
I just found out that a person very close to me has cancer yesterday. I believe I can heal this person through a fecal matter transplant (from me after my gut is repopulated) and that is why I am doing this now instead of in a few months like I originally planned.
If you want to ask clarifying questions go ahead, but please leave disparaging comments to yourself.
If anyone has advice, or tips let me know, I'll go through relevant threads this week and hopefully have a game plan before touching down (and some chicks pipelined).
F

From what I'm reading on the forum and from my own experiences, you can't go wrong in Bogota, or any Colombian city, for that matter. Is bigbootyluvr the only forum member who has ever struggled in Colombia? I'm also curious about the same thing you wrote about in your original post as although I make it into the gym every day, it takes a gallon of diet green tea for me to do so. No exaggeration.

Have you considered on going on a multi-day fast? Like 3 days. I believe it's been recently shown that it can reset your immune system.
I'd be more concerned about your health than banging girls; I mean there is no doubt you will be successful.

I didn't mean to sound so serious in the first post.
I have to say, I'm really excited about this. It's going to be about 6 weeks I think, maybe more depending.

Dalbroker,
I've been researching food extensively for this book I'm working on. I believe the beginning and end of health problems resides in 2 things, the microbiome and eating to support it.
Your own cells are outnumbered 10 to 1 by cells that have completely different DNA than your own.
Anxiety and Depression are regulated by gaba receptors that a certain strain of bacteria is responsible for forming in the brain.
Your energy levels are determined by the byproducts certain strains of bacteria produce when breaking down resistant starch.
All of this has to do with how well the mitochondria perform.
This is just two strains of over a 1000 that reside in the gut.
This all has to do with the Gut-Brain axis and how the two work together.
The water you currently drink kills off your microbiome (fluoride).
The diet most people eat is absent resistant starch so it dies off.
A single round of antibiotics was shown to affect 78% of metabolites.
A single round of antibiotics will wipe out 100s of strains.
I've done the fasting and the various diets, I've been on the Wahls protocol for months now while adding resistant starch. I haven't had a drink in 10 months.
I sent off a stool sample to ubiome.com and even compared to most Americans my microbiome is decimated.
This is what I need to heal myself.

Also whats the deal for best online resource in Colombia/Ecuador? Tinder? Colombiancupid?
I don't want to be one of these spoon fed dudes but I'm kind of on a time sensitive thing here.

I'll be following this for sure. Woke up feeling like dogshit today. Face feels heavy, can't concentrate, feel like sleeping even though I just woke up. Pretty normal day for me really.
Been on tons of antibiotics and have had stomach problems for years. Had endoscopy and everything came back negative but I have very little trust in doctors.
Anyways, good luck brother. Have fun.

South America's Montazumas revenge will clean your bowels up to 15 times a day. Almost just as powerful as local Indian street cuisine which has a 25 to 1 pooping ratio.
All kidding aside, good luck buddy and keep us posted.

Fisto,
Couldn't agree more about the importance of a healthy microbiome. I'm looking forward to reading about how everything goes. Best of luck!

Very interesting info about fecal transplants; glad you mentioned it. I have a friend with ulcerative colitis and it sounds like it's good for that disease.
I'll be somewhere in Colombia during this time: Medellin, Barranquilla, Bucaramanga or Pereira. It'd be cool to meet up with you if you have plans to visit any of these cities.

Fisto, very curious in your mention of anti-biotics kill your gut.
I ask because I took a round of anti-biotics in January, had the runs ever since then.
I've taken a flora bacteria pill almost everyday for the last month along with my regular fish oil.
Strangely enough I had an organic sandwich from a healthstore and an entire pack of 80% cacao dark chocolate sunday night.
I'm not joking in saying I haven't gone taken a dump since sunday night, and I've had at least 10 meals and plenty of water since then.
I'm hoping my gut is coming back to normal.
