1- Get in shape
2- If you're going to university either take computer science, medicine or law.
2b- If you're not going to university, learn a trade/skill or something related with oriental healthcare.
3- Read Millionaire Fast lane, 48 Laws of Power, Art of War and Arnie's biography.
4- Learn to be alone.
5- Learn another language (as long as it's not french).
6- Join a political party / masonry.

Reasoning:
1- Self explanatory. "Mens sana in corpore sano"
2- Engineering jobs are nice, but you will most likely end up working for another guys. COmputer science will make you learn how to code properly and create your app or whatever makes money. Medicine it is self explanatory: Be an implant surgeon or a dick doctor and you will make tons of money(im not joking). Law, be a good shark and make more money.
2b - Learning a trade will save you money from going to university and will be able to easily set your own gig. Tons of money are still to be made in accupunture and asian stuff like that. There is a growing market for this stuff. Remember, when people are sick, they will try EVERYTHING. Nobody wants to die.
3- Learn how to build your path to success, and ride a Lambo on that path. Perseverance, strength and strategy. You will need these skills.
4- Knowing how to be alone without freaking out is one of the most invaluable skills a man can learn.
5- You already know english, which is great. Another would be better. I would take Spanish.
6- Meet new people with different horizons.

And offcourse, meet ladies and WIOAMTBFI

I really do not see myself in 9-5 job. I hate that I have to wake up for school and arrive in time and stay until a certain hour.

Labor work isn't very fascinating to me either. [Image: biggrin.gif]

I understand but I do not see that happening easily, my parents are very keen that I get a college degree.

- Travesty444

I think myself as that kind of person, I even had some minor facebook success while I was 15 and earned couple of grands of it by dealing with facebook pages, but I stopped with that and sold all the pages, now as I think of it that maybe has been a mistake.

- TravellingSoldier

When you put it like that it sounds very easy to travel but I really know that my parents would be very opposed to that and that I'm not even sure that I'm capable just going in another country trying to get a job without knowing anyone and going alone.

- YMG

I was thinking of going to study abroad but only option was Dennmark because it has absolutely free colleges, I just have to get a side job which is fairl easy to get and pay rent and food. But it is hard for me to make that decision and just travel there alone, I'm very attached in the place I'm currently living, I just do not have balls to do that. Maybe I should find them beacuse it isn't too late but... [Image: biggrin.gif]

I know how to make basic web pages so I could try and get on with that?

Thanks everyone for this many advices, I really appreciate it. [Image: smile.gif]

You said in your last reply that your parents want you to get a college degree, and that your parents would be opposed to you traveling... Along with you fact that you're "very attached" to the place you're currently living.

From what I can see, you were coddled as a child and maybe have a hard time making independent decisions. At this point in time the best thing for you to do would in fact be to travel. Besides the fact that your parents are most likely the parents that want their kids to get a degree simply to be educated vs. actually making a career in something you like... I wouldn't listen to them.

If you want to go to college and get a degree for something legitamte like a doctorate, or law, or something specific then by all means. However our parents still hold college to a standard of it being something of real value. That may have been true when they were growing up as school was not as easily accessible and degrees had merit then.. Now not so much.

I think you need to make some of your own decisions. Maybe try doing some developing like you said and see if you can make enough money to travel on the freelance work.

Whatever you do good luck and I meant no disrespect to you or your parents, just trying to tell it like I see it. Too many of my friends are scared because their parents didn't expose them to the world. Sometimes you have to disobey your parents man.

I am in a similar situation to OP. 18 and I really don't see myself in a 9 to 5. Being ''average" scares me, and all advice I get from family is "go to college, get good job, get married, retire". Family is willing to support me for undergrad on the condition I have a good GPA, meaning tuition and room and board. But if I decide to not go to/delay college, I'd be out of the house immediately with no support in any way.

I want to travel, learn a third language, fuck, explore online business opportunities, etc. My family wouldn't support this and I'm starting to think I'm crazy for even considering passing on such a 'surefire' college plan that is laid out right in front of me. But I have such a strong desire to get out of my current situation and explore the world (and its women) and I know this feeling of wanderlust will continue till I die, basically . Any input from you guys would be awesome. I've got some shit to figure out and RVF can give the best advice on the internet.

Having been to your country, I would say invest in your country. Tourism will only rise in the next few years in your homeland, save money to open up some sort of business catering too tourists.
Making money may not be easy, so you might have to leave for a few years and go somewhere like the oil sands etc.

I know a few Croatians who got tired of Canada and moved back to Croatia, I don't blame them.

Learn at least one other foreign language.

I did that when I was 18, so if I was 18 again I'd learn at least two.

"There are an estimated 120 million French speakers throughout Africa"

I'd argue that French in Africa is like English in Europe.. Basically the middle ground (2nd language) that a large population knows. In combination with knowing English and learning some Arabic you'd probably be fine in the majority of the countries there. French is still important IMO.

Also, there's the fact that its a really easy language to learn if you speak English and Spanish... So why not? ;D

1. Go to the best school you can get into.
2. Get engineering degree. Abuse Adderall.
3. Be a functioning alcoholic and have sex with every girl.
4. Come out at 22 realizing that college was useless but you were an alcoholic and had sex with a lot of girls.
5. Bitch about how college was useless. Forgetting you did more drugs and had sex with a sh*tton of girls. Don't understand how you're still alive.
6. Use said engineering degree (preferably mechanical, those fuckers can do anything) to go into any industry you want to.

I think the idea is to party your ass off and bang a lot of girls while still giving yourself a solid career path afterwards.

Sorry, hungover doing homework my mind is all jumbled.

The point is college has a lot of hot girls. And if you play it right you can set yourself up to have a career afterwards.

Otherwise I'd start a business and party my ass off.

French used to be the Lingua Franca of the world.
It is still spoken widely in Africa and other countries across the world.
it may not be what it once was but it is still a common second language and therefore useful.

I'd rather know Spanish first though.

It also depends where you want to travel/work/live.

OP does not speak Spanish.
OP is (very probably) a white guy.
OP (very) probably has zero (or negative) interest in Africa and he would be better served with arabic anyways. Most of French africa, which starts in the "southern part of north africa" is, in the first place: A shit whole. In second place: at war. In third place: Very racist towards white people. I don' think OP will go there for pussy or business, but to each it's own.

It's just my recommendation. Everyone is free to learn whatever they want. In my case, I would only learn french (from scratch) if I were to go to France for studies, work or business.
And yes, I already know a bit of french and will learn more in the future, because being a native latin language speaker (and I speak portuguese natively and spanish fluently) it would take less effort from my part to achieve a good level of proficiency. In my opinion it will be more challenging for OP, and without any additional benefits.

- Sign up for the reserves, be it police, military, Navy.

- Go to university if there is a specific trade or actual career/business related skill that you want to invest in. Avoid all the humanities bullshit like the plague. You are usually thrown into an environment with lots of women and different people, it can help build your social capital. If you go to a business university you can make some decent contacts with people with connections.

- Work and live abroad, even if its teaching english; you will get money and have freedom and see that the East can actually offer a young Western man more than the West actually does.

- Get into game, get your heartbroken, get screwed over by people you thought were close to you. Ultimately get to the point when you realise that all this shit, money, women, Facebook, is just mere decorations. Finding yourself is the most important thing and not the naff eat pray and fuck kind of finding yourself although after having sex with over 15 women, it will no longer be some sort of gold on a pedestal no longer.

Geniunely building yourself up as a strong man is what you are aiming for. If that comes by joining the services, traveling and making something of yourself as an immigrant in the East. or mastering a trade or business then so be it. Its a very rewarding feeling and no one can take it away from you no matter what.

I do have to agree with you. Target the languages with the most native speakers. I was never trying to argue that French was more useful than Mandarin, Chinese or Arabic.

However, let the OP speak for himself. You're writing off Africa based entirely on assumption which BTW is and will be a great place for new business. Also, you wrote off Africa but then go on to say that Arabic is a useful language... Do you know which continent has the most native Arabic speakers?

If you "don't see yourself in a 9 to 5 job" then get to work NOW on your own business.

Anyone can start an online business. Maybe you can freelance or build your own website of some kind.

The harsh, cold truth is that the world doesn't give a shit about you. The world only cares about what value you can create for it. A business or lifestyle doesn't build itself. It's all down to you. This truth can be quite liberating if you look at it in the right way.

No need to go too crazy with the business stuff though. At your age you should make sure to travel around, party a lot and bang lots of random teenage chicks. You don't appreciate teenage pussy until you are much older.

University path
You are an EU citizen simply be virtue of being a Croatian citizen and your English seems good. Quite frankly, no-one outside of Croatia (and perhaps the Balkans) will look at a degree from a Croatian university; go to Scotland where university on an undergraduate level is free for British citizens living in Scotland and EEA citizens everywhere. Alternatively, go to France, Germany but you'd have to learn French and/or German before doing that.

At university study (or read as we say in the UK) something you're interested in but nothing stupid; be practical. A degree in Mid-3rd Century Art History won't get you anywhere nor will an Engineering degree if you fail maths. At university, concentrate on graduating with honours but continue to game, work-out, etc.

Once you're out of university work for a few years, quite, start a business and the rest is history.

Alternatively, you could start a business right after graduating or maybe even get a fellowship at a university which allows you to get a post-graduate degree while getting paid in some sort of way.

I'd recommend this just in case everything fails; you'll have a degree to fall back-on. Furthermore, most investors (which you will probably need to start a business) will look favourably at a degree; it'll give them confidence in an odd sort of way.

Straight-to-work path
Do everything you possibly can! Become a freelancer and write five-hundred-word articles for $3.00, write shitty e-books on how to get rich fast (with a pseudonym of course), become a Croatian language tutor in some other country (you could even claim to speak Serbian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Bosnian). Make friends, get investors and start a business. In fact, investors are not necessary in all cases; you could start an online business like an online store for example. You could even learn how to code.

You can PM me.

Oh yes, I'm so privileged you literally can't even.

tbh I would take some of these things with a grain of salt. Sure its true you don't need college but you really do. you don't learn shit thats true however you meet people, probably smarter people, more experienced people, talented etc.. and they (hopefully your good at managing people) will be your life long connection to getting somewhere in life. My best advice to you is find a real life mentor who you want to be or is at least better than you 10x and fly like the wind.

Adam says to God, "God, why did you make women so soft ?"
God says, "So that you will like them."
Adam says to God, "God, why did you make women so warm and cuddly?"
God says, "So that you will like them."
Adam says to God, "But, God, why did you make them so stupid?"
God says, "So that they will like you"

Grain of salt here, as I'm only 20, but you should be aware that a 9-5 is a hell of a lot of work for those "average" people you seem to be looking down on. If you don't want to work a 9-5, you're going to have to be willing to work 24 hours a day to make shit happen. No one wants to be average, but must people are because they aren't willing to work. The desire to not be average isn't even .00001 percent of what it takes.
