Default is only declared by countries and not by vultures or Risk Rating agencies like S&P or Moody. We paid on time in what can be called a chess like move, forcing BONY to have the money as legally once deposited belongs to the creditors and BONY acts as payable agent. So either disobey Judge or face multiple court appeals. Brilliant!!
It is under negotiation at the moment and there might be a final solution, one that doesnt risk RUFO; but in no way Argentina will have default like in 2001. Even if there is no settlement, technical default would be only for few months and since we dont need external aid for bigger projects and only small amounts of money were asked for specific things, then there is no risk. If this is the only solution in order to avoid activating RUFO before end december 2014 triggering court appeals for no less than 250 billion then come default.
But if there is a real solution, then go for it, bloody vultures!
So, all of you trying to find desperate women, this is no wasteland.
Plus, I read somewhere that the city is expensive for tourists in dollars, so maybe there are cheaper locations.
if you come here, dont expect desperate women unless they are barrio girls or hookers.
If you want quality you will have to deal and dance with social circles which is not what one expects for a one night stand.
If you decide to stay you will see this country is not bad at all, have better qualities than most asian countries or any other latin american country.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

On the first point, Buenos Aires is actually a bargain now for people with $$. Using the street rate, BA is 37% cheaper than Bangkok and half the price of Bogota! http://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living...rency=ARSX
On the second point, we will see. When the Argentine peso becomes toilette paper, the women may become a little less frigid. It's in their best interest lol.

Why is Argentina better than most latin american countries?
Chile seems to be more stable and prosperous while Brazil has better looking women.
Mmmmmm, and those colombianas? Bootyful.

Hmm, I used to live there.
My impression is that the elite of the country being totally corrupt and incompetent is closer to the truth.
You have no chance of even being in the running for a general election unless you stole / lied / fucked your way to the top of a large pyramidal corrupt 'elite' class.
And when I say 'elite', what I really mean is parasitic.
