Nice, thanks. And it's perfectly situated due to proximity to the beach and clubs or what other factors?
What are the best sites to find places and what should I expect to pay?

How important is it to do a lot of planning in advance for finding a place to stay? I might just put off the decision and book a hostel for my first night at least.
Man, being able to bring girls back is expensive. The difference between a private apartment/hotel and a hostel is pretty huge ha. Damnitttt

Check out compartoapto. Pretty sure they have that in brazil. You'll probably end up having a room mate but it beats the hell out of a hostel or paying 80 reaiis to bring a girl back to your hotel.

I lived in Rio for 3 months in 2010 during the world cup. Great experience. Actually, I was living in Leblon a block or two from Melt. Seriously, take everything you hear about Rio with a grain of salt...or in this case sand. A lot of guys who get "lucky" with girls there are hooking up with girls from the favelas or lower class areas. Seriously, go see where some of these girls live...most are pretty poor and just out to hook up for fun and maybe get some money out of it. Don't get me wrong, there are cute girls in the favelas, but I seriously doubt people who go to Rio for like two weeks are banging model type girls. Your upper middle class 8s and above don't hook up with tourists and random gringos because they know the stigma that's attached to it and their reputation. They know that millions come a year for the P4P scene. Gringo guys, if they're not in Rio for work or with their families, or least with other foreign girls in their group, generally are treated with suspicion as sex tourists. Walk around Copacabana and its' not hard to see why.
I'm not saying that you can't get some action, but it's not as easy as your think. Yes, it's easy to get make outs in the club. It's not uncommon to get 15 - 20 in a good night. Brazilians love kissing and it's more of a sport or like shaking hands in the clubs. They'll flirt with you, touch you and be super friendly. Many gringo guys think then she's ready to go home with them because American and Western European women are so cold and robotic in comparison. However, this is not the case... very few, what I will call quality girls, will go home with a gringo they've just met. You have a better shot if you're there for a couple months or so, get into their circle, etc.
You're chances are better if you go to a club with a lot of money and get a table and a few bottles of overpriced vodka. That improves your odds because you'll at least attract attention and some money girls. More goes a long way in a city like Rio.

I feel like a lot of these sex tourism stigmas and difficulties can be erased with a creative backstory, decent game, good location, and and somewhat of a bank roll.
I feel like difficulties meeting women anywhere in the world can be solved if you have these things.
