I'm glad the manosphere didn't exist when I was in my late teens/early twenties, I like to read some of it now though.

I found this stuff over a year ago at 21 and still wonder if it's going to do any long term damage. Sometimes I think just reading manosphere articles can straight up salt my game and make it take longer to warm up than if I spent all day dicking around with friends or even reading old books.

I found it at roughly three years ago at 18. I think the problem stems from the fact that, the younger you are, the less experience you have with women and the less developed opinions you have of your own. When you read the manosphere without strong opinions of your own making, you tend to adopt manosphere opinions instead of cross checking what you read with what you've seen.
Not everyone on the manosphere has the correct opinion or a realistic one - some are angry at women and others are afraid (false rape accusation, etc). It's good to take a break from it all and just go by what your eyes show you and decide from there.
I have not seen much of or heard much of the bad deeds of various women before I encountered the manosphere. That doesn't mean that it does not exist, just that maybe it doesn't happen as often or that there are other variables which are not seen or discussed.

That and feminism mainly exist online. Turn off your computer and they disappear.
No not really.
I see it on nights out in the northern towns/cities of England.

Haha.. Some kid asked me to pull a flat tire off so he could get a new one the other day. They think it's so easy which it is unless you cant do it. So.. Instead of charging them I play a game where I say " ok here's the stuff" and give them the tools and I walk back in my office.. They look at them and ask my employees to do it after a few minutes every time .
So , it ain't worth shit moneywise but you're uncapable and unwilling to do it? Hmm..... This experiment of mine is ongoing indefinitely. My price for this will be set at 50 dollars.
What if one of them asked you to show them how, instead of just doing it for them?

They kept being debbie downer's and brought down threads. Overly dismissive towards other forum members and not in a joking way.
Monte Cassino apparently gave some decent advice it seems - but to me it looks like an advanced troll - one who gives decent advice at first to cover tracks for prolonged trolling.

I think what scotian is saying is that reading too much 'manosphere' at a young age can permanently sour you towards women, instead of seeing the lighter side of things. Kind of ruin your innocence at an age when many of us were very impressionable.
I like to read Giovanny's posts for a more optimistic view on women/life.

Kind of off-topic, but I thought about starting a thread on tire-changing game. I've done this for women a few times, and they always get this awed look on their faces. Especially when the flat is stuck and you need to kick it a few times to get it loose.
Once went on a date with a girl, and the date was going awful until I had to change a flat tire. Somehow I ended up banging that same night.

Walderschmidt and Sabra nailed it and I share similar opinions/concerns regarding what the manosphere and to a lesser extent PUA/game can do to a young guy. At thirty years old, I have enough life experience to sift through some of the BS but even still I notice that reading this forum and ROK (really the only PUA/manosphere blogs I read) has had some effects on my outlook on women, both good and bad.
The good:
-I'm getting better at closing the deal with women, I could always open them and even get them into my bed but there were times where I couldn't seal the deal, LMR techniques do work.
-Way less oneitis, I've learned the benefits of playing the field more.
-Rise in standards, instead of just picking up the first skank to come my way as I usually did before (and some times still do), I often hold out for something better.
-Less fat chicks, closely related to the above. I'm in a 12 step fat girl recovery program but the odd relapse still happens.
-I'm more concerned with health, fitness and style and am working on all three.
The bad:
-I've developed an irrational disdain for women from English speaking countries, they're not all that bad and they're usually easy.
-I sometimes over think game related situations, instead of going with the flow like I used to, I find myself analyzing situations when I shouldn't be or putting too much effort into gaming a girl.
-I've pretty much given up on the idea of marriage, not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.
Of course, there's more but overall I would say that RVF/ROK is a positive thing, I enjoy reading and participating but the young guys have to keep in mind that reading too much into this stuff can leave them paranoid and jaded when they should be out enjoying some of the best years of their lives. Go out and enjoy the young sluts boys, make mistakes and learn from them, then in another ten years or so you can be cranky old poon hounds and bitch and whine about women like the rest of us.

good post Scotian, the bad really stands out for me as it's something I'm experiencing, but I'm less on the woman hate as I know how easy these english girls give out in comparison to our european counterparts.

The manosphere has improved my life in many ways, I don't see how you can be jaded or misguided as you can discern what is helpful and what isn't. I am 22 yrs old.
This forum is an invaluable resource for a young guy like me, to gain advice from older men about life is something I find hard to express in words but I am very grateful.
Life is a game to me now.

I read that some of you say that Reading the manosphere you lost the inocence...the inocence of what? It's what happens in real life..
It's like santa Claus for the clindren...they have the inocence till they discover that their parents where santa at the end..
