Some people are so damaged that they'll take negative attention over no attention any day and they will continue pissing off their significant other to get it because of their severe abandonment issues. I dated a girl like that last year and going out on the town with my boys while she stayed at home was like the bataan fucking deathmarch for her. When I dumped her, she weasled her way into my room and wouldn't leave until campus police got called on her (I had nothing to do with it, one of her concerned friends did).

The best part is, if you tell them to leave, they'll never fucking do it. They define themselves through that relationship and they're more than willing to put up with abuse to keep it.
