I think Samseau said it before, though I may be wrong, that leftism is a disease. It really is.
It's like a virus that doesn't stop until everything in it's path has been destroyed. It's all always hungry. It's always looking to devour its host.
When I was growing up, I vividly remember how American individualism and exceptionalism was pushed. It was all about overcoming the odds. The prevailing belief was that yes, you would fail from time to time.
But at the same time, it was also understood that the great thing about Americans was that we kept getting up again. We did not stop. If you fell, you pulled yourself back up.
You might not be the first man to step on Mars or become President one day, but every single person here in God's country had every ample opportunity to make it to the middle class. While you might not win every basketball tournament or high school football game, those losses provided you a great opportunity for growth to do better next time.
In short,
Americans prided ourselves on overcoming the odds.
Today, with the disease that is leftism having a strangle hold over most of our key institutions,
Americans pride themselves on being a victim.
You want examples of the left eating itself? I'm sure this thread will provide plenty of entertaining material.
How about Symone Sanders, the former press secretary for the failed Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, when she said that ""In my opinion, we don't need white people leading the Democratic Party right now". No pink pussy hats for white women, I guess they're too low on the victim hierarchy chart.
That's still a pretty funny story of the left eating itself though.
How about Rose McGowan getting banned from Twitter for being among the first to call out Harvey Weinstein? Didn't she know that nobody is a bigger victim than the Jews?
That's a pretty funny story of the left eating itself.
How about Bruce Jenner getting hailed as some kind of hero for getting surgery and wearing women's clothing getting bashed when it came out that he supported Trump? Doesn't Bruce know that despite transsexuals being very high on the victim hierarchy chart, supporting "Literally Hitler" will cause your special and precious snowflake status to melt away?
That's a pretty funny story of the left eating itself.
Ok Ok, but these are just "shaking your head" stories of the left eating itself. Stupid people do stupid shit, yeah I get it man, I get it.
You want some real examples that actually matter in the real world of the left eating itself?

The census report which you can download in a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet that the Orange County Register used as its source:

Last year (in 2016), California had 142,932 more residents exit to live in other states than arrive, according to an analysis of a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau, released Wednesday, Nov. 15. This “domestic net outmigration” was the second-largest outflow in the nation behind New York and just ahead of Illinois and New Jersey. And it was up 11 percent (13,699 net departures) vs. 2015.
Lets recap that list of states with the highest exodus for the year 2016:
1. New York
2. California
3. Illionois
4. New Jersey
What government do these states have? Leftist democrat.
And perhaps most intriguingly, why are people leaving these states?
According to The Tax Foundation, there's
a link between taxes and and migration.

Quote:Quote:
There is a relationship between taxes and migration. Individuals move for a variety of factors. Climate, job opportunities, family, among others, impact the decision to relocate. Taxes can influence the decision too.
Tax rates and structure affect a state’s economy; states with less burdensome tax structures and lower rates tend to have better economic growth. Increased job opportunities can result from the better economic growth.
So there's a link between migration and taxes.
What about the policies that these 4 states enact?
In general, the states that people are fleeing from are high taxed liberal states.
How are these people going to vote when they leave to other parts of the USA? While that data is hard to find, Pew Research gives us a little idea:

On an individual level, of course, many people’s political views evolve over the course of their lives. But academic research indicates not only that generations have distinct political identities, but that most people’s basic outlooks and orientations are set fairly early on in life. As one famous longitudinal study of Bennington College women put it, “through late childhood and early adolescence, attitudes are relatively malleable…with the potential for dramatic change possible in late adolescence or early adulthood. But greater stability sets in at some early point, and attitudes tend to be increasingly persistent as people age.”
According to Pew Research, it doesn't seem promising that voting patterns will change when people move from blue states to red states.
Furthermore, you might ask, just where might these people fleeing from New York California, Illinois and New Jersey be moving to? The US Census shows a very clear picture:

Following Idaho for the largest percentage increases in population were: Nevada (2.0 percent), Utah (1.9 percent), Washington (1.7 percent), and Florida along with Arizona (1.6 percent).
Let's recap that list of states with the highest percentage increases in population from July 1, 2016 - July 1, 2017:
1. Nevada
2. Utah
3. Washington
4. Florida
5. Arizona
What governments do all of these states have, with the exception of Washington? Conservative republican states.
What policies do these governments enact, with the exception of Washington? Once again, refer to these two charts that I just showed:
Now, taxes and the left eating itself? Where am I going with all of this? When you dig a little bit deeper into some of the tax policies of these liberal utopias, you get a little better picture. In one example, according to one Californian democratic politician, tax free tampons are a matter of social justice:
Source:
http://reason.com/blog/2016/01/27/tax-free-tampons
Quote:Quote:
"Effectively we are being taxed for being born as women," she said. "AB 1561 is about social justice [and] an opportunity to end an outdated tax that uniquely targets women for a function of their body, a function we don't control and can’t ignore every month of our adult life."
But of course the liberal utopia that is California couldn't just let that tax revenue go down the drain. So, they figured out a solution:

Quote:Quote:
Tampons and other feminine hygiene products are considered “luxury” items by a majority of states, and so are subject to sales taxes. As a result, women who menstruate pay millions each year in taxes that don’t apply to men—and many are demanding reform.
Lawmakers in California say they’ve found a unique solution: getting rid the tax on tampons and making up the budget shortfall by raising a tax on hard alcohol.
“Liquor is a choice and a luxury, and human biology is not,” California State Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia said in a statement last week. “There is no happy hour for menstruation. Our tax code needs to reflect the fact that it’s not ok to tax women for being born women.”
And who are the main consumers of hard alcohol, you might ask? Well according to one study by the US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, they found that while more studies were needed to form a good conclusion:
Source:
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15770116
Quote:Quote:
METHODS:
Drinkers were recruited from randomly selected alcohol outlets in South Los Angeles. Respondents were assessed on sociodemographic characteristics, alcohol use history, drinking patterns, and drinking context among other items in a face-to-face interview with research staff.
RESULTS:
Three hundred twenty-nine drinkers were interviewed, of whom 297 reported drinking MLB, RB, or HL brands of alcohol most often in the past 90 days. This subsample was 88% African-American, 72% male, and 35% unemployed.
So essentially, the left is saying that unemployed African American males are to be taxed more so that females can be taxed less? All in the name of social justice? This is a real world example of the left eating itself. Is this funny anymore?
Conclusion:
Now finding data on what percentage liberals are moving from blue states to red states and what percentage conservatives moving from blue states to red states is hard to find.
However, for a simple minded man like myself, I rationalize that there must be a sizable amount of liberals moving from blue states to red states for the simple fact that so many people are moving from blue states to red states in the first place.
If I'm to believe Pew Research's Academic studies that found that voting patterns are less likely to change the older that people get, I then rationalize that the people who are migrating from blue states to red states are going to bring their voting patterns with them and in some cases vote for the same politicians that made them leave their home state in the first place.
And what is making leftists leave their liberal utopias? If I'm to believe the Tax Foundation that there is indeed a link between taxes and migration, then my simple mind reasons that a part of why Americans are fleeing blue states to red states is because of the tax environment.
Now I'm certainly no tax expert and I probably wouldn't understand 75% of the mumbo jumbo that's written in those tax laws anyways.
However when I see that out of control "social justice" tax laws, like ones which dictate that unemployed African American males in California indirectly pay more taxes because they are lower on the victim hierarchy chart then females, which then helps result in an exodus from liberal states to conservative states where the migrants from liberal states will most likely retain their voting patterns when they arrive in the conservative states............
Well, suddenly, the left eating itself isn't so funny anymore.
