He was given a triumph and adopted into the Julian clan and was renamed Germanicus Julius Caesar. He had a reputation for honesty, loyalty, patriotism, and being an inspiring leader to his soldiers. He died under mysterious circumstances and it's believed he was poisoned on the orders of senior level leadership in the Roman government jealous and fearful of his popularity and power.
