I get that the attitudes and ratios suck in LA. It is the same way in my California beach town. However, LA has a massive population (unlike my town). What if you...

a. Go outside the white 20-25 demographic? On my okcupid account I get tons of attention from hot LA milfs. Unfortunately I am just a little too far away.

b. Get a couple of regular girls to pivot off of? Even if the girls are just cute and not hot. Regulars are like having a safe harbor to come back to. They just make a guy happier.

c. Take advantage of the international airport to cheaply travel on weekends? There are usually flights to Mexico City for around $200 for example.

As other posters have mentioned LA is full of fun stuff to do so you can create a very fun lifestyle. Personally though, the thing that still gets a bit depressing to me in SoCal is the shallowness. How do other guys combat this?

A. Girls under 40 have the same mindset as the 20-25 demographic. Everyone tries to act young/youthful in LA. They all do the same things.

B. This is the easiest. It all depends on your lifestyle but if you want less hassle this is an option, but they are more relationship minded in general.

C. Used to do this a lot. It can get old after a while, but you can have times where you're not even in LA for a weekend in a month very easily.

LA is shallow. You just have to deal with it and be shallow as well.

Putting on my flame suit for this one!

Los Angeles is hands down one of the best cities I have ever lived in. It has absolutely everything I need and more. Surprisingly, it has even better amenities and more activities than London (with much love to my old tribe there).

I really don't understand the complaint that it is fake and shallow. When I go out and meet people they're very friendly to me. Sure, they may not have much interest in getting to know me, but I don't have much interest in getting to know them either beyond the superficial. I just prefer to have people being pleasant to my face in my day to day interactions.

From another thread, here's my own opinion on this fakeness and shallow claim for LA:

People on this site rag about Los Angeles and how terrible and fake it is. In my experience, people here have been astoundingly friendly. I'm married, but women have been very receptive to me. When I was here last, my experience was roughly the same. I never understood the fakeness claim and I think people who make this claim are projecting something. People are always friendly to me even though I may not see them again.

To each their own. Fly out and spend a week or two and see what it is like.

Personally, weather is probably the most important aspect of a city and Miami has it in spades.

Friendly =/= genuine. It's true that people are friendly in LA, but those friendly people often tend to be flaky and insincere. It can be very difficult to forge deeper connections with people, even if they're superficially pleasant. They might be laid back and nice to your face, but that doesn't mean that they actually like you and, in my experience, a lot of those "nice" people won't hesitate to shit on you behind your back. To that end, I totally get where the perception of fakeness comes from regarding LA because I've experienced it as well.

I hear this argument all the time and it confuses me greatly. The opposite of Los Angeles culture would be New England's where you immediately know where everyone stands with you because they're all assholes to your face until they decide to know you deeply.

I don't know about you, but i'm not needy nor do I need to spend my time around others to validate myself and who I am. I prefer a friendly , "Hey bud, how's the day going?" "Good! How about you?" "Excellent! Keep on enjoying the weather!" and just leave it at that. I have enough of my own problems to deal with and have no desire to want to dig deeper into someone else's life.

I don't have a desire to know people beyond the superficial nor do I expect them to like me and vice versa. The only person that really knows me deeply is my wife and I expect to keep it that way.

Don't most people do this? I've talked shit about my friends behind their backs and i've heard shit they say about me behind my back. It's not that big a deal if you're secure in who you are and where you fall in the world.

Really, if you find Los Angeles shallow and fake then you should take a deep look in the mirror and check to see if it is you that is the one that's acting insecure and needy for the validation of an entourage. Learn to enjoy friendly personal encounters without having the need to make them your best friend forever!

Los Angeles isn't shallow or fake, but then again there are a ton of insecure people all around looking for some validation. I've experienced this in every city that i've lived in and it's no different here. At least you won't have to worry about people scowling at you in the streets like I had happen in New England.

On a side note, I joined a retro car club. Met this really cool guy, talked, and sure enough he's the CEO of a mid sized business in town. Week later I got a job working for him. Pretty freaking awesome!

This town has been awesome and I doubt i'll ever leave unless there's an opportunity to make massive money elsewhere. The weather, people, and opportunities that have presented themselves to me have been so bountiful that it makes sitting in traffic not a big deal at all.

For those of you still going to bars and clubs, why do you bother? Even when I was single, these places were always filled with sad and miserable people. I got more success at day time activities. No one talks to anyone in a bar or club anymore, you've got girls with sky high bitch shields either looking for a Chad Thundercock or a clown, the cost to drink at the bar is exorbitant, and the venues' where ever you are, are always too loud to run any real game without shouting in a girl's ear.

All of those negative make night game a losing proposition unless i'm going out with a group of people I already know.

Honolulu (maybe 3 or 4 days but definiately doable)
Vegas
San Diego
SF
Portland
Seattle
Vancouver
Cabo

hell, I've even done Chicago or New Orleans for a weekend trip. Flights are usually under 300 bucks if you plan it right.

@Drazen
Yes I agree that 26-40 year old girls do have a similar mindset to young girls in SoCal. Actually, in my experience its often worse. My point is that they are just a little more available if you are not famous.

@TheBeast1
I am from New England originally. I don't miss the asshole attitudes people sometimes throw initially there, but I do miss that my friends there will show up when I need them. My SoCal friends are for the most part in it for their own (often short term) gain and satisfaction.

Overall, Given the awesome weather here, the attractiveness of women and the amazing outdoor activities, I am pretty happy. And you can get sexy women here, you just have to work a little and go outside of the box of blond 20-25.

Just flew in from NewYork. Weather in LA is a cooler and more comfortable. Go figure!

Got my camper van out of storage and prowling the streets. I'll be around a few days if anyone wants to go out.

What places do you suggest tonight through next week for single 35 guy on a budget?

Oh yeah no hotel. I shower at the gym and sleep in my van. Should be taken into account.

Yes I've fucked girls in it [Image: wink.gif]

Sharkeez in Hermosa Beach if you are good with latinas (mostly thick) interspersed with white surfer girls and random asians. Main Street Santa Monica, probably Circle Bar. You can work the "surfer" angle or something like that, there are a lot of campers parked over there. There will probably be some talent at Townhouse in venice too.

Haha, my wing and I were at Circle Bar and 31ten Lounge yesterday in Santa Monica!

Not gonna lie, there were some very hawt black and white women there. Number closed a slim/thick black shorty and a Dominican shorty who just moved here a week ago from Washington Heights! Trying to set up a day 2 as we speak. Didn't even bother trying to pull back to my place in Studio City. Too far for these women.

Of course, we didn't pull, nor did we see anyone else pull. We saw Tyler from RSD doing outflow game at 2:30 in the barren streets, lol, where there were about 2 women and 30 guys.

Surprise, surprise, mothertruckers!

The quality is here in LA if you look far enough but literally no one outside of multimillionaires, celebrities, actors, producers, directors, and agents are pulling...unless you're willing to do P4P, lol. No thanks!

Winged a buddy at Edison in downtown last night. Plenty of laid back girls and polite pussy. Everyone is so nice here. Even hot girls were nice. It's got to be the weather.

My buddy's match girl was a flat chested Asian but otherwise slamming 8. She hooked me right up with her coworker who was an older 6. I took one for the team but we didn't pull back to the hotel. Got some rich Chinese girls to drive us to the hotel but no dice. They lived in San dimas.

Place was emptying by 1-1:30 and closed at 2. While annoying bc I'm used to startimgnlater I actually like this timeframe. With nowhere else to go it's a very reasonable pull hour if you plan to have a sustainable lifestyle. In New York everyone goes to another club in a group. It's like a marathon just staying awake until girls are ready to pull. Kinda defeats the entire purpose if you're having sex late and sleeping all day to recover.

Haha you saw RSD tyler in person doing game? I went to the RSD summit in Vegas hoping to see all the instructors out. I wanted to see what quality they actually pull. None of them went out at all. The only one who went out was Max bc he ran a boot camp. He was relentless for 3 days. I was like how the fuck is this guy sustaining this? After 3 days he exhaustion and stayed in.

Max is a crazy dude! I've heard nothing but good things about him. Yup, I talked briefly with Tyler on Main St. in Santa Monica. Cool dude but he left mid-convo to approach a girl. Can't blame him. I think he may have been doing a boot camp out there and they just left The Bungalow.

This is pretty typical. You go to a venue and VERY FEW people pull one night stands. You look on a dance floor and think "no one is gonna hook up tonight" and you're probably right. This shouldn't be really shocking. The play is that you get a number, set up a date the week after and then try to bang that way.

Circle Bar is set up as probably the easiest place on the Westside to get a one night stand too. It got blown up though a few years ago when everyone figured it out and now its 70% dudes.

Funny, LA used to be such an easy place to get laid in say 2005 -2006. Cahuenga street was the shit.

And I was uglier back then.

Dare I say it, are the days of easy hooks up gone for most cities?

People, cultures, and attitudes change. I wouldn't be surprised to see a world wide western downward trend of slutty women. They're still out there, but it isn't as fashionable or desirable as it once was.

Just a theory.

I think its "the same, but different" if that makes any sense. I don't think nightlife has changed to the point everyone is saying. Bars are still sausage parties, people are always complaining about not getting laid. Its just how its always been.

To say its impossible to get laid in LA is just insane nonsense. Is it a challenge? Sure. But once you figure out your niche, you'll be good. LA has been invaded by big groups of basic chicks and their orbiters/friends and those are always very hard to crack. You don't get the slutty drinking culture like it once was, but if you have something going for yourself, you can get laid fine.

I loved Tokio. I used to always hit up there, the Three of Clubs, Good Luck Bar, Dragon, Formosa, Jones, and all those similar spots. Really good times.

I agree that it's more difficult in US cities across the board due to ALL women (even 400 pounders with warts!) now having unlimited options (thanks online dating, social media, and smart phones!).

I think women are also scared of being put on blast on social media. One can't be truly anonymous in this day in age.

That being said, LA is still considerably harder than the NYCs and Chicagos of the world. No need to make things harder than they need to be. That's why I'm leaving this dumphole in 3 weeks, baby!

Women have adapted an abundance mindset. "There are a ton of guys that will fuck me, so I don't care if I get fucked or not".

Anyway, on the Westside, the easiest places to get laid right now are Mom's Bar in West LA, Whaler in Venice (Weekends only for both), and Townhouse in Venice (there are certain nights during the weekdays where its ok). If you're in Hollywood, you need to be decently connected or very aggressive. Hanging with promotors and other cool people will probably help your cause greatly, it'll be hard to go in cold.

There's probably more I'm missing, I haven't done well on Main Street in some time nor the promenade area either.

On a side note, has anyone else noted diminishing returns when rolling solo lately? Seems a lot harder to break the ice, I haven't been doing it as much (I haven't been going out that much in general).

As a New Yorker who is cooped up for over half the year due to shitty weather and considering a move to LA, it comes down to this: how bad can all of the other factors be to outweigh sunny t-shirt weather year round? Most guys I know who have moved from NYC to LA love it and are not coming back. Personally I am very much into the outdoors and don't need to be chasing tail all the time.

I think there are plenty of factors, individually, that outweigh the year round t-shirt weather. And collectively, well, even more so.

Personally I do not understand the over emphasis on weather. I grew up in SoCal, haven't lived there in years, do not miss it at all. There are just so many better places in the in U.S., whether it is girls, quality of life, cost of living, logistics, opportunity, taxes, regulations, gun rights, etc etc - ad infinitum really.

CA isn't the best of anything except weather and some attractive beach towns. And that is not a big enough factor to get me to live there when considering all of the bullshit you put up with for that sun.

Whether it is East Coast or anywhere else, you don't need to be cooped up for half a year because of winter. I mean especially in NYC there is no excuse. There is more opportunity to enjoy talking to and seducing a girl in January in NYC than in LA any day of the year.
