I've got the conch now, Piggy!

You want to know the only thing you can assume about a broken down old man? It's that he's a survivor.

Class envy. Heh. How many of these people were upper class and how many were putting down next month's rent and bill money "cuz yolooooooo!!!!".

The public will judge a man by what he lifts, but those close to him will judge him by what he carries.

Exactly - true upper class disappeared probably even while seeing what was happening. The Magnises card holders are wannabes and working individuals who overpaid for a product that under-delivered in the usual Facebook-Instagram way of making something very mundane look cool and high-class.

They tapped into that spirit while unfortunately being veritable morons and assholes - and I mean the organizers.

I wish some guys there would have decided to play feral, paint their bodies and go Lord of The Flies for show. But I guess that they were too pissed, since they spent too much money on crap like that. They have to chalk it off to experience.

And they will laugh about it and tell it all their friends.

Exactly, these guys are not real upperclass - some are wannabes and some are just new money show-offs. I have more 'class' in my little finger than all of these people. This is what this thread is all about.

The real upper-class has more taste and are not crass and vulgar like these guys. Those are the people that care about society and the average guy, instead of trying to lord it over us mere mortals a la "Look at me in my Yacht in the bahamas with these instagram hoes".

If this Billy McFarland guy is from Short Hils, then he has money out the ass. I used to tutor kids in that neighborhood. It's a lot of (((old))) money, big league (((old)))) money. It's the sorta neighborhood where you meet those people out and about and you assume they're nice working class people, then you go to their houses and you're like

Elevators and shit in their fucking houses cuz they're too rich to walk around.

I'm not surprised he pulled this shit. He has that classic sociopathic smile. That smile does not reach his eyes and is clearly forced as hell.

He looks like that Bug guy in Men in Black who wears other people's skin; take your eyes off of him for a second and he's draining your essence out of you like a cheap juicebox.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

That is the impression I had about him. He was certainly well-connected and knew plenty of folk, so came from money. An indicator is sometimes the fact that he started out as an "enterpreneur" at age 13. Some families encourage that as people with money start companies to make more money.

Often the so-called rags to riches stories are from guys like that or Bill Gates whose father was worth 100 mio. + and the connections he had were even 10 times better than his money.

It is just good that his stupid showmanship career is probably over. No one will entrust him with any major project ever.

As for his smile - I met quite a few salesmen like that. They would sell you any crap that might even ruin you, but they don't care, so long as they make a buck.

The pics showed awesome beach cabanas and celebs. And every music festival I've ever been too is really well put together - the logistics and event handling is top notch. There was really no reason for the kids to doubt that the pics were all fakes.

I think some of the celebs deserve a lawsuit for promoting this - Ja-Rule and Bella Hadid. High-time some of those bullshit celebs shoulder some responsibility rather than just rake in cash for doing nothing. They have a responsibility to their fans and to their brand. They have a responsiblity to do their due diligence for the things they rep. This just shows how big of a whore they really are.

Celebrities are used to promotes products and services because it gives some level of credibility.

These celebrities were paid in advance to promotes this because they never do shit for free, a collective lawsuit should be done and they should face the consequences.

This could set some type of wacky precedent because I'd be willing to bet that no celebrities actually got paid to promote this. I bet they just got offered free travel and tickets to put this on their social media.

Aloha!

That would still be considered payment.

One of my loose friends from business school bought tickets for the second weekend a while ago. He's not a total chump, actually pulls very decent tail on the regular (in fact he pulled a few strippers from couchsurfing game) I suspect this is what happened in his case, and maybe some others like him:

Guy in his late 20s works his ass off, like 80 hours a week, week after week in some thankless but reasonably paying job. Wants to just blow his mind on some ready made fun package. Sees how awesome coachella is or has been to it himself. Sees the names, "big" names associated with this festival, what the amount paid can get him (in the description at least), says F it and plunks down the money. Quick impulse buy because he doesn't have the time and is too stressed out to really dig into something like this.

A lot of people make decisions like this because they sincerely don't have the time to dig deep, suspect foul play, notice inconsistencies in the video etc...

At least he didn't go down there and waste a weekend and lose his luggage. Knowing this guy though, if he HAD gone down, he almost definitely would have scored survivor pussy like a champ and probably came home feeling good about himself as a man.

That would still be considered payment.

Miss Pepsi Jenner got paid 250.000$ for early promotion in 2016. She deleted all her tweets about this:

http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/mus...story.html

The LA times even made it look like as if she was herself organizing the event. And I doubt that actual professional models did the promo shoots for free as well.

The rest of the celebs - they got free VIP tickets at the price tag of 10.000$-49.900$ each, but I doubt that the IRS would see that as actual payment.

But normally it counts as payment.

I would bet its most of them. But the organizer sold a snow job to all of the talent, the attendees, major corporate backers, etc. Highly unlikely there is a "next year". It could be hard to pull that off from a jail cell. He's either going to get sued beyond oblivion(no future employment), or, face jail time.

Totally, I have a few relatives who are very successful in sales. I can spot that fake smile shit from 2000 miles away. This guy has con man written all over him. Probably jewish, probably loaded out the ass with daddy's money and now probably never trusted again.

Actually that was planned beforehand, but I think it is good for the movie - art imitates life.

Just read that the first major project of the fraudster spling.com raised 400.000$ (he actually got that cash) and the site is already abandoned. Magnises will now fold as well - it was already getting crappy reviews.

This isn't class envy - honestly, a lot of us could've went if we wanted to. This is funny due to the irony of vapid limousine liberal types who say they love and support refugees paying a ton of money to actually experience something akin to a refugee camp.

If anything, they should be thanking McFarland.

Educated at The Pingry School - cost of yearly tuition - 43.000$. His education cost likely over 500.000$. He broke off college.

My thread title change is correct - he is the trust-fund ponzi-entrepreneur.

No wonder the media pushed him left, right and center and he was so well-connected.

I think his trust-fund is in serious danger. His daddy will have to hire the best lawyers and activate his contacts, so that son-wannabe-self-made-billionaire gets off easy.

A trust fund would most likely be untouchable as money is distributed by the trustees and is not legally owned by the beneficiary. He can have $5 in his name and get a $20k check every month.

Seth Rogen & The Lonely Island Making Fyre Festival-Like Movie

Seth Rogen and The Lonely Island are teaming up for a movie about a music festival that goes horribly wrong. Rogen has had some big hits recently – pushing the envelope with hits like Sausage Party and college frat duology Neighbors and Neighbors 2 – and the style of humor he helped to popularize – stoner comedy mixed with absurdist situations and characters – has started to pop up everywhere.

At the same time, comedy trio The Lonely Island – consisting of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone have also been doing their part to change the face of comedy. Having initially found success on SNL, the trio are responsible for 2007’s Hot Rod as well as last year’s Popstar. Rogen and the team have worked together before on hilarious song “Like A Boss”, and now they’re reuniting for a full movie.

With the recent disaster of rapper Ja Rule’s Fyre Festival making headlines, both Rogen and The Lonely Island took to Twitter to reveal that they are in fact, making a movie “about a music festival that goes horribly wrong.” The announcement couldn’t have more perfect timing – so much so that The Lonely Island tweeted further confirmation.

I've met jews with non-jew last names. This is very common in the North East. A lot of people change their names to be more competitive in the rat race.

Not every jew is a (((Stein))) or a (((vich))) there are lots of Smiths, Jones and other Jews with innocuous last names. They put on the local culture like a fancy hat but never change their true identity.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

They can't garnish that check? That seems like a way too easy method of dodging legal judgments.
