Further, mycoplasmas and ureaplasma lack cell walls and so the typical antibiotics don't work for the most part.

If, like me, you've got a macrolide (Azithromycin) resistant strain, you're going to need some heavy duty shit - usually moxiflocaxin, a nasty, side-effect ridden antibiotic from the infamous quinolone group.

For all my SEA brothers out there, know too that many STD strains in the Asia Pacific region are more aggressive and resilient than those found in Europe and Stateside.

It sucks to wear condoms, I know, and I've slipped *once* since getting the all clear.

The WHO shift to the new class of antibiotics will not fix that overall problem of bacterial creativity. In some countries, strains of gonorrhea are already resistant to the newly recommended class of drugs.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned back in 2012 that one of two drugs in the class of antibiotics the WHO now recommends, cephalosporins, was in danger of becoming useless to treat gonorrhea, at least in the U.S, and recommended that doctors stop prescribing it.
