Weightlifting is not a panacea for attraction problems

Weightlifting is not a panacea for attraction problems

Weightlifting may not be a panacea for attraction problems if you have internal issues that affect your communication with women, but it sure as hell is not going to hurt you in attracting women. Sorry to the guys who are not in shape, but there is a primal attraction when most women notice a guy with broad shoulders, chest and arms. Not to mention the benefits it gives to your posture that gives you a commanding presence either walking down the street or entering a room.

Guys who have this, know what women say to them when they are balls deep inside of them...

Weightlifting is not a panacea for attraction problems

Today I'd say I had my first instance of a girl attracted to me because of some size. Maybe I had a bit of a pump going on.

I was working out at the gym and couple of girls who apparently didn't know about the separate entrance for classes came up to the front door. I opened the door to explain it to them.

The girl I spoke to had this wide-eyed partly smiling look of "whoa" when I opened the door.

Unfortunately she was very fat. To give you an idea, she looked like a fatter version of Meghan Trainor.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

Genuinely get called 'too big' by most girls, but if I dieted down and was leaner I'm sure that'd stop. I'm training and eating to fulfil a childhood dream of competing in strongman though, so it'll have to wait.

What I've noticed, though, is that leaner guys only look like they train in clothes if they have some out of proportion, more developed upper body part -- like traps, chest, lats -- but only one.

Aesthetically balanced, proportionate guys that look like Greek statues in their underwear essentially disappear in clothing, where as a guy with one, odd, stuck-out muscle-group will be called 'muscular' even if they're skinny.

I too attract fat girls like a donut shop. It's a nightmare.

Edit: me at 18% according to caliper measurement -- not attractive to women, but oddly I get lots of deference from guys:

That's me, yep. At this body fat level I'm around 295lbs at 6'1''. I'm 41 y/o, with a lifetime of compound exercises and rugby behind me.

Did 'roids between 2001 - 2003 but stopped, got over shutdown and never went back on -- I do use ghrp-6 and sermorelin to fix tendon injuries nowadays, but that's it.

I get numerous 'you're too big' comments off girls, but they still act submissive around me, especially younger girls at the clubs where I work the door.

Impressive physique there mate. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be interested to know more about where you were when you started out, and how you've progressed over the years. I'm sure we'd all learn a lot.

Snorse is a tank. Good shit man.

To be fair, you are legitimately big so if you think you're too big that's whatever. My comment was mostly targeted at dudes who never lift and are afraid of getting "too big."

Cheers H1N1,

I'm not particularly lean, mind you -- I have been in the past at much lighter weights. I certainly don't fit the 'aesthetic' category -- have a big/wide waist nowadays. My nickname at my door job is 'bear'.

I started as a 17 y/o seemingly ectomorph, and didn't really pack appreciable mass on until my mid 20's. I've gone up and down over the years. As mentioned, I always wanted to compete in strongman, since childhood, so I'm working on that now.

I'll make a thread soon.

Looking forward to the thread Snorse. 20+ years in the lifting game i'm sure you have some great stuff to share. I'd love to hear your opinion and experience on PED's since you got shutdown also. In ways i'm glad I didn't venture to the dark side.

Well done on the physique...you don't look 41.

Don't get me wrong, shutdown is somewhat inevitable, but largely reversible. I just hated having to go through it in the circumstances I was in (I'll explain what happened when I make a thread) and once I was over it I never had the urge to go back on and have to pct again.

I will say, if I could have found guys like Chris (Good Looking Loser) circa 2003, I'd have had a much easier time dealing with life post heavy steroid-use!

I pretty much do everything I can to increase natural testosterone, keep my insulin sensitivity and promote gh production. I have access to lots of supplements and supplement research as I run a supplement company for a living.

I try everything that I think has potential, and over the years I've found a few things to swear by. Not gonna spam you with my shit, don't worry! I'll stop derailing the thread now, too!

Thanks for the kind words. I get told I don't look 41 all the time -- training is the fountain of youth. Age is atrophy, training is hypertrophy -- stop using those systems and they degenerate and take you with them!

Hey Rick,

Before writing the post is their one or two things you would add to this list for natural test boosting:

-ZMA
-Nuts
-Good regular deep sleep
-Sunshine
-Tall wide upright posture like your balls are anvils
-Checking out hot women and think about dominating them
-Hot sweaty monkey sex with attractive younger women
-Winning and become more skilled at things (especially hobbies with a danger factor: shooting, surfing, motorcycles, martial arts)

I tried L-Arginine and one other thing that seemed to do jack shit for my test. Always willing to experiment with more though. Something that may or not be obvious?

I'd add a few things:

Start workouts with compound movements. Once you're warmed up, do two sets with a weight that you can barely get 5 reps on. Get mad focused and build up an inner picture of yourself hauling, pressing or squatting that shit through the ceiling. Go for 99% RPE at least twice a week on at least two of those lifts.

After those you can do what ever kind of workout you like, just don't overdo it.

Break any fast (overnight or any period without access to food) with a protein/fat meal without carbs.

Controversial and seemingly counter to mass-building, but don't sleep on a full stomach, and don't sleep on carbs.

Take at least 5 tablespoons of coconut oil daily.

D-aspartic acid -- take it for 2 weeks then take 6-8 weeks off it. It shuts down LH fairly quickly otherwise.

Creatine at 40g per day alongside 4-5 liters of water.

Get free-range eggs. Find a farm that keeps a cockerel, and make sure you eat any eggs that have blood in them -- just cook them well. Eat at least 12 eggs a day.

I've seen some bloggers in the manosphere recommending raw eggs. Raw eggs contain avidin -- mammals utilize biotin and the two cancel each other out. Heat destroys avidin. Don't eat raw eggs.

Sleep with a fan on, keep body temp down at night. Use a sleep mask.

Ok thanks Rick,

Got these checked just didn't mention:

- Creatine
- Coconut oil
- Eggs
- Protein/Fat meals
- Cold room (that has come natural for some reason to me - never needed to be told just felt right)

I guess sleeping mask helps you not break sleep easier so less waking in the middle of the night?

Anything you need to get off of after two weeks (D-aspartic) sounds a bit strong my taste. I don't have the will power to time substances that strong/sensitive. Biggest reason why I never juiced and never will, don't have the discipline or enough desire for that.

Would you mind expanding on this Snorse?

Is there anything you would recommend for muscular injuries (lower back / glute pain to be exact, with tightness down one leg) other than yoga, massage and trying to strengthen supporting muscles?

Getting back to the original point of the thread - of course weightlifting is not a panacea for attraction problems. Neither is style, grooming, body language or conversation. But they are all part of the jigsaw, you need to work on every facet of yourself and your life, weightlifting is just a great place to start and brings a multitude of additional benefits.

295lbs at 6ft 1 is monstrous, very impressive. I don't think I've ever met anyone north of 260lbs (apart from obese Walmart-golf-kart Americans - but they don't count, I mean in-shape people) in real life. What are your lifts like?

Ha! Not a problem, I will do it this weekend and get some pics taken that give a more honest look at the shape I'm in.

Yes, I'm (very) big and have a lot of muscle mass, but I'm carrying a fair amount of bloat and fat, and I'm working hard to correct fairly bad (but improving) anterior pelvic tilt along with slight kyphosis (which has come on since starting to work from a laptop full-time, I believe).

Will make a thread on peptides/injuries now, as that could be helpful I believe.

I think I'd better make/post some videos, rather than stating them. Will get on it. They aren't bad, by most standards.

Rick

**edit** Here's a 3x300kg (660lb) deadlift from earlier this year. I was a tiny bit smaller/lighter here and am lifting better now.

^ Whatever happened to Snorse? I was prepared to write and record some strings for his songs free of charge during some Quartet time I'd booked for December, but he vanished before I heard anything. He hasn't logged on since... huh, the 21st of August last year... interesting.

Now I'm curious. Did anyone ever connect with him via his Facebook?
