That's no good. You need a lot of protein in the AM, that shake is just a shit ton of fructose with maybe 8g of protein. If you want to spike your insulin and store some fat, you've got the right idea.
Try this.
1 litre of water upon waking
3 pan fried eggs
2 packets of oatmeal
1 scoop protein powder mixed in 8 ounces of milk.
Eating a real breakfast is a habit. It's not always appealing but it gets the metabolism rolling in the morning and supplies your body with nutrients after it's been unfed for 8 hours.
Real food that requires real digestive effort will stimulate the metabolism and get your body out of fat-fuck mode. A smoothie doesn't have the same effect.

I disagree with steelex. If you can skip breakfast and fast (intermittent fasting) I would. Meaning if you don't need the extra calories, macro nutrients. I've gotten shredded IFing for 2 years. Havn't touched breakfast for the full 2 years I was IFing. Now a days I do eat breakfast because i'm huge now and need the extra calories. I actually have a hard time finding "clean" calories in a days time. So now i'll throw in some "dirty food" just to hit my daily caloric intake to maintain.

My point S3K2, was that he got to 225+ lbs just eating two meals a day, which is a strong indicator of a slow and busted metabolism. I think the IF works pretty well if you already have a fairly fast metabolism.
In the OP's case, it would atleast seem to me that he needs to stimulate his metabolism via exercise and constant digestive effort from whole foods and a high protein diet.
I have several people I've helped diet down from 280-300lb fatties down into the low 200's. The one thing they had in common was that at first they ate two meals a day and not much protein. Usually their caloric intake was surprisingly low considering how fat they were. When we went to 4-6 meals a day, at the same calories but radically different macros, they started losing 10-15 lbs a month.
