YouTube Shuts Down Comedienne's Channel Because She Questioned Fat Shaming

From the bits shown on CNN, it doesn't sound like she was picking on any particular person, so the bullying argument rings hollow. The video was simply an attack on the concept of "fat shaming" in and of itself, with some criticism toward fat people in general, but not a person in particular.

Youtube seems to be making it clear that such discourse will not be tolerated. How long before expressing a political opinion and calling your opponents names will be considered "bullying."

Part of the original video, and responses, are included in the auto-play video on CNN.

As a former phat phuck, I stand firmly in support of fat shaming.

At my heaviest, I weighed 240lbs. and now I weigh around 180lbs.

It's possible if one really wants it.

There's way too much flak in the air right now (I speak from experience the past month). It seems like there is a massive "shut it down" attempt on just about everything politically incorrect. After Canada my goal is to dig my heels and solidify the defenses, because I don't want to go down in this first wave. There will be many more.

I was just on that thread and missed this important, precedent-setting bit of information.

I think this needs its own thread. Because what is now happening is that any criticism of the wrong group is being redefined as "hate speech." This could have a major effect on the manosphere if it bleeds from YouTube into Blogger/Wordpress.

And beyond that, if this keeps up it will have a major effect on society in general and the future of what we call the free world.

From the comments:
"Removing hate speech isn't censorship, it's part of the EULA."

"Girl, please stop being delusional. You did not break the internet. Youtube took down your video because they don't allow hate speech as part of their terms of use."

"You want to be an asshole, it's your right, but us sane people don't need to allow your hate speech to spread. You're about as funny as Mel Gibson blaming alcohol for his racial rant against Jews."

"Lol no you didn't "break the Internet" you violated youtube's guidelines. Hate speech is hate speech whether you try and disguise it as comedy or not. You're just shooting yourself in the foot by showing zero remorse or willingness to learn. If you're going to call yourself a comedian, come up with some content that's actually funny and not just you standing in front of a camera spewing hate for 5 minutes."

Does anyone understand what's happening here? Entire generations are coming of age with a vastly different idea of what freedom of speech is. The SJWs have succeeded in "reframing" the first amendment.

This is worse that probably anything we've ever discussed here. That includes feminist excesses -- which most people know are ridiculous. But this is getting like a sci-fi horror film where reality itself is changing but most of the people are blind to it.

Once again I'll repeat something I've said: WORDS BEGET THOUGHT. If you start banning words, you start restricting thought and eventually shrinking the paradigm in which thought operates.

You cannot be a surgeon unless you know all those little words that connote body parts. Lack of words = no nuanced ideas. Let that sink in.

Similarly, you cannot be a citizen of a free country without the words to allow you freedom of thought. Once you ban those words, your thought processed change. That's why this move by YouTube -- and others like it -- is so tyrannical. It deliberately restricts our intellect. You can't have progress without the occasional "bad" thought. Or a free country.

As much as I appreciate the gospel of fat-shaming spreading as wide as possible, I couldn't take more than 15 seconds of her video. This 30-year-old woman is trying to act and talk like a teenager.

Damn this bitch is hot! She might have fake tits... but I don't care [Image: smile.gif] But honestly the irony in this is that she was canned because she's a good looking girl that's not down with the narrative. Even though they bitch at Roosh constantly, at the same time they keep him around (Youtube, Facebook, ect) so that the SJW have a reason to bitch. But if a feminine looking women does the same, she's got to be shut down because of her inherent value and how easily she could convert the narrative.

It's crazy how quickly they can turn of you and fuck up you $$$. Unfortunately she'll apologize in order to keep her career going, even though she was right, but went about it the wrong way. I must admit that even for me I'm not sure how is the best way to motivate fat people to loose the weight. And also she's not that funny, but I wouldn't expect more from a good looking female comedian. People have lied to her for her entire career just because of how good she looks, but that's another topic on it's own!

I fat shame myself every time I cheat and overeat. Then I go to the gym because it equals self-discipline and strong willpower.

Some person commented on the fat chick's reply.

Quote:Quote:

Yeah, losing weight is more complex than just putting down the fork for a lot of people. There can emotional and psychological issues tied into that behavior which often need to be addressed before real progress can be made and maintained.

Now I have heard this before, and I actually agree if your are emotionally out of control, I think you do all sorts of shitty destructive things to yourself and others.

But why not seek treatment and help? Not treatment and help to accept being fat. There is plenty of that bullshit.

Seek treatment and help for the issues that drive a person to eat too much and not exercise?

I don't think #healthybody or #bodyacceptance is the right campaign if these people are truly trying to get healthy.

Shouldn't it be #healthymind #findsanity #don'tgiveup?

I do think people reach a point and they just say fuck it and they never recover from that. Well 99% don't. We need people to stop reaching that moment of saying fuck it and then diving into a million calorie carb binge.

I agree she's awful. But I look at it this way: I also considered the bands W.A.S.P. and Gwar pretty awful, but didn't want their records banned back when the PMRC was on a heavy metal witch hunt.

This is the new witch hunt. Shame we don't get Frank Zappa speaking at congressional hearings to make the censors look like the small-minded fools they are.

So, I support her, unfunny jokes, annoying mannerisms and all.

I think we should start a new movement - #StopAlcoholicShaming.

Stop blaming alcoholics for the shitty decisions they bring into their lives. It's genetic, they can't control their alcoholism. Shaming them and arresting them for drunk driving won't stop them from drinking. (fill in the blank)

She really needed to a spokesperson when the "street harassment" bullshit came about.

For the record she not that funny or attractive, but not unfunny/ugly. She's a pro at making some great points. A woman like her HAS power, that's why other women wanted to block her. Imagine if Sofia Vergara started talking about values and how girls in America need to lose weight, and find a man by 21 - these women would lose their shit trying to censor her.

I met a self described socialist Canadian chick in Thailand. She told me that there is a heroin user organization that makes demands to the government for using space, free needles, and other benefits; essentially a junkie trade union.

#stopjunkieshaming will be trending anytime.

And of course the "critical speech is hate speech, and hate speech is not allowed" line only applies to speech against SJWism. Speech in favor of SJWism is permitted as free speech no matter how negative.

Case in point (and I don't mean to divert the thread, but just give an example of SJW's complete hypocrisy on this): Irene Gallo, the creative director at Tor Books who, regarding the Hugo controversy, wrote

There are two extreme right-wing to neo-nazi groups, called the Sad Puppies and the Rabid Puppies respectively, that are calling for the end of social justice in science fiction and fantasy. They are unrepentantly racist, sexist and homophobic. A noisy few but they’ve been able to gather some Gamergate folks around them and elect a slate of bad-to-reprehensible works on this year’s Hugo ballot.

She smeared the authors and other Sad/Rabid puppies as racist, sexist, homophobic neo-nazis and the books they recommended as terrible, despite 1) women and minorities numbered among the Puppies and their supporters, and 2) some of the books the Puppies nominated being Tor books, books from her own company.

The Puppies responded by calling her words wrong and possibly libelous, and asking Tor to rebuke her if this was not Tor's official position. In other words, the Puppies countered speech with speech, in classic free speech style. You are free to say what you want, then take the consequences, including people calling you wrong and a liar.

Comments by Gallo's supporters included:

--"Isn’t it ironic how quickly free-speech-obsessed Internet jerks forget their censorship concerns when it’s an influential woman (particularly one with “SJW values”) that’s being silenced?…"

--"I find it no small irony that both the Sad and Rabid Puppies — who so strongly espouse freedom of speech, would then endeavor to rob that from Irene Gallo unless, gasp, we’re talking about another double-standard in play? It’s almost like women get treated differently in the world and held to different standards… hmm. *strokes beard thoughtfully*…

I stand by Irene Gallo because she is a person who has the right to air her personal sentiments, regardless of whether or not we find them disagreeable. She has that right without being smacked across the nose by her employer in a sanctioned public shaming. I do not agree with Tor’s posturing on this point because it represents a double-standard of sexism and favoritism. I do not agree with Tor because they are opening the tent flap to the worst among us. The publisher is cultivating an invasive species with a letter like that. They are lending them space on the debate floor, turning this whole affair into a clownish, brutal, and bullying mosh pit."

--"So now the Sad Rabid Puppies want someone ousted for something she said. Thought crime! How socially-justicey warriory of them."

So according to SJW's, criticizing what Gallo said is "silencing" her, but kicking someone off Youtube isn't censorship.

(Source for info about the Gallo incident: https://www.blackgate.com/2015/06/10/int...ene-gallo/ )

I hate to take this thread down a couple of rungs on the intellectual ladder...but can anyone tell if they're real or fake?

She herself advertised her own topless scene in a Facebook post, so it's not like I'm outing her here or anything. Her words: "If ya feel the need to see me topless, there they are, and they're awesome..." You'd assume they were real, but you never know.

Her background, I learned, is in dance. She got into acting, then music. Now it's comedy. So she's clearly doing anything to be popular. But you still have to give her credit for taking the anti-SJW route instead of doing an Anne Hathaway or whatever and screaming about ageism and sexism.

I've seen a lot of people sharing this quote on social media over the last week or so and it struck me immediately as a symbol of how we are being told to apply the concept of free speech.

I don't feel like elaborating much on the fallacy of this type of thinking because I think we all agree on that and there's no sense beating a dead horse. That being said, where is the line to be drawn? Progressivism seems to be redefining "common sense" as "agreeing with our beliefs" and by doing that, you are making the censoring of opinions not the same as yours a "right vs wrong" proposition.

The irony that the progressives will share this picture as justifying their censorship of opposing opinions is telling. They can't even see how if the statement was "turned inside out", so-to-speak, they would be furious and cry "double standard" etc etc
