I finally was able to pick up my new Zegna suit today.

Congratulations. Zegna suits are superb, top quality. Zegna, Brioni and Kiton are the top of the top (I'd add Pal Zileri Sartorial to the list). For suits I go for Pal Zileri, which are bit cheaper. As a side note, I made a real-estate deal with Grupo Forall (Pal Zileri) a few years ago and had the opportunity to visit their factory in Vincenza, I learned there that they also fabricate for Zilli and Zegna ..... they produce the finest quality clothing, and this is defined by their simple label: Made in Italy.

Funny, I just bought a gorgeous Pal Zileri shirt at 70% sale in Eastern Europe. I never knew this brand before.

I guess the best place to get these brands on sale remain Milan from the 10th to the end of July. What do you think?

I was In Milan around the 15th of August last year and most shops were closed for the summer...

Well, I've been told that on the whole prices are a bit cheaper in Milan than in Paris, so yes, Milan might be a good option. If you don't have access to the private sales, best is to show up 48 hours before the beginning of the sales, no salesclerk in his right mind would refuse to sell you goods at sales prices even if the sales have not begun, and furthermore there is more stock. That said, I know well the guy who runs the Pal Zileri store in Paris and he told me that since one year, his sales clerks die out of boredom. People have no money. So during the first days of the sales, stock is nowadays usually still significant.

Classic Oxfords. Don't know if there is a Weston store where you live (I know there is one in NYC), but they have this kind of classic model. Weston is high-quality shoes (crafted by using traditional shoemaking techniques), but still humanly priced, at least compared to Berluti, ect.

Personally, I like my shoes classic, but nonetheless with a contemporary design, like the Weston Oxfords from the "Graphic" or "Conti" lines.

Bout time I should post on this thread. I get complimented on what I wear by girls all the time, although to be fair the competition amongst young dudes is pitifully weak.

Here's a few of my favourites from my wardrobe:

Desert Boots

[Image: Windsor-Smith-Desert-Boot-3558-52361-1-product.jpg]

I have this exact pair minus the red stitching on the side. They're great to wear in the Fall and Winter and girls love them. When every other dude on campus is dressing like a 12 year old wearing Vans, a pair of these will set you apart.

I don't own a pair of these yet, but I know these Bass Buckingham Shoes in Navy will look great.

Slim Khaki Chino's

This colour of slim pants just innately looks good. They're a great way to add a little class to your wardrobe without looking out of place on campus.

Dark Slim Jeans

These are a must for young guys. I have the pair of Levi's 511's in Rigid Dragon pictured above, which I think is superior to dark blue shades (not as classy) and jet black (too indie rock niche if you're only getting one pair).

If you're young and wear jeans in 2013, they must be slim to skinny or you will be instantly pegged as lame. Just make sure they're not gay dude wearing girl jeans skinny and you got room for your junk. None of that spray on tight shit.

Pea Coat

I got this on sale from Urban Outfitters online for $69. Checkout the 2nd pic to see how good it looks buttoned up, though I personally wouldn't have done the bottom one up like they did in the pic.

Red Gingham Shirt (minus the tie)

[Image: 1334571609.225867046.additional.02.original.jpg]

This gets more compliments than anything else I wear. Random dudes will tell me that they like the shirt, and I catch girls checking it out every time I rock it. I think the shades of red work well with my dark skin.

Blue Gingham Shirt

I bought this exact shirt to try and replicate the success of my red one (also because it was on sale). While it still looks great, it doesn't the strong reaction that my red gingham does which could be because of the colours go with your skin tone. YMMV

I have generic pale red and pale blue oxford shirts as well. I've found that wearing either of those or either of my gingham's under my pea coat always goes down well and that is the only time I'd ever do the top bottom on them up, doing so otherwise looks too hipster.

Band and Graphic Tees

I have a few band tee's and a couple graphics as well. As long as the design and fit is good and you've got a decent pair of pants and shoes on with them college aged guys can wear these to their hearts content. Riot Society in particular have some a few graphic tee's which SWPL college girls just love.

Dope style for the younger players, PDog. I dont doubt the ladies are digging it!

In the end I went with these To Boot New York's. The shop I use had some Tom Fords that are exactly the same style/colour so we compared them "mano e mano" in the store.

The Tom Fords were significantly heavier and had the telltale signs of being handmade. So in other words the sole was better. The top leather it was difficult to tell, even for the associate who knows shoes well. He just wanted me to try the Tom Fords for fun (and they were on sale for 50% off, so $1000+HST). Lets face it, shoes are all about comfort and your own particular style and needs.

The TBNY's were perfect for that. Very happy so far.

I have some Toppys on my Churches, and my loafers are being re soled as I write this. I am having trouble deciding to Toppy these new wingtips or not.

I just bought a white/off white linen blazer. I'm kind of on the fence about it. It was $5 so no big deal if I can't work it.

it looks like this, but with narrower pinstripes:

any ideas on how to wear it?

I have those faragamo kicks in your post laner. I got them at Harry Rosen in Vancouver. $700 and I got em for $350. Harry Rosen has some crazy deals when they shuffle out last seasons inventory, I'd really recommend you guys check em out when summer starts approaching, go buy up the spring line for 50%+ off. They do all tailoring for you too, and are awesome on exchanges/repairs. One of my collars stitching was falling apart just a bit and they just said "come in tomorrow" and when I went in they had a new shirt tailored for me and good to go.

-this ad paid for you by Harry Rosen
(nah not really.)

This thread made me spin my wardrobe around, so thanks gentlemen. From shirts/jeans/hoods to blazers/fitted shirts/dress shoes. This thread right here made it happen, cheers.

Edit: oh one thing about Harry rosen, they get paid commission so some of the people in the store can be total sharks. Just a word of warning. (if you live in Vancouver I'd recommend looking up Moe, a young Arab guy in the Hugo boss section. He is really helpful/knowledgable and actually wanted to help me make a nice wardrobe while being as cost efficient as possible. He also took down my number and just sends me a text when their is big sales on for the styles I like. Stand up guy.)

Those Ferregamos are beautiful. I think them and Gucci have the nicest leather of all the main brands. The comfort right out of the gate is amazing.

I agree 100% about Harry Rosen. The customer service is amazing. In fact I just got a call on Monday about a private sale and made an appointment with my salesman for Tuesday. Public sale I believe starts this weekend.

Also I had bought a suit from them at full price, and two weeks later I get a call from my guy and he says to come down as he has $450 for me to spend as my suit went on sale and he credited my account the difference. That is what keeps me coming back.

There is also a Harry Rosen in Montreal.

It's right on Peel downtown across from Ferreira Cafe (pretty smooth spot too, fly girl bartenders for sure).

Picked up some Prada loafers there last summer.

Just blew a few hundred dollars on new gear at MBK mall in Bangkok, here's what I picked up:

Two pairs of Diesel jean shorts at $20 a pair
[Image: 204.jpg]

Two pairs of Vans shorts at $12 a pair
[Image: 205.jpg]

Three Fred Perry golf shirts at $8 each
[Image: 206.jpg]

Random cheap tees at $4 each
[Image: 207.jpg]

Diesel jeans at $25, (OGNORCAL, these better get me laid!)

G Star jeans at $30, not sure I like them so much though
[Image: 209.jpg]

Not sure what brand this is but I liked the jeans, $30
[Image: 210.jpg]

A bunch of CK underwear for about $2.50 each
[Image: 211.jpg]

Two pleather Dolce and Gabbana jacets at $65 each
[Image: 212.jpg]

Two Canada Goose winter coats, I had them wrapped up to squeeze into my suit case. This was the best buy I made, they ran me about $75 each and I could probably sell them for over $300 back home. : http://www.canada-goose.com/
[Image: 213.jpg]

So I beefed up the wardrobe a bit today for a reasonable price, I could have probably found better deals if I shopped around but to be honest I hate shopping. I'm well aware that this sin't the best quality gear, mostly knock off and with my luck it will all fall apart at the seams shortly after I wear it but I think I did alright today. Going to head out tonight to pick up some knock off watches, electronics and sun glasses before heading home later.

^ i would have shopped at siam paragon at H&M instead.

why bother with the $4 tees? you lose value when people see you wear them because it shows you lack style and funds.

you also bought 5 pairs of knock-off jeans. why not 2 pairs of higher quality legit jeans instead?

In SEA it doesn't really matter if what you wear is fake or legitimate, for Asian chicks anything westerns wear is authentic.

From their point of view in the west we have higher life standard than them, so why would we bother buying cheap nasty counterfeit copies when they earning a third of our salaries do the effort to buy quality original ones?

I will be wearing this gear in small, industrial backwater towns on the Canadian Prairies, people there have no sense of style or fashion so it doesn't really matter. The tees I will likely wear to the gym or at work (under coveralls), any pair of jeans I ever wear lasts about 6 months before the crotch blows out of them, so I don't bother with expensive ones.

Not all SEA chicks come straight from the rice field.

Why do you think that the upscale malls in JKT, KL, BKK, ect are full of stores of high-end italian or french brands and that the alleys are swarming with upper-class girls who shop at places like that ???

Go to glam "in" clubs in Jakarta like Immigrant, Dragonfly or Blowfish, and believe me, most girls there will be VERY good at gauging what you wear, and perfectly know the difference between a Boss and a Zara or H&M shirt .... fake or cheap will take you nowhere with the "high value targets" in SEA.

One of my Indonesian ex-GFs sent me an email recently, saying that if I can find a Hermes Jane Birkin bag in Paris for less than 15 000 €, she will IMMEDIATLY send me the money to buy it. Not all girls come from the kampung.

Get your self a pair of good selvedged denim jeans. Don't wash them for a year and they look the business. If you blow the ass out of them just patch them up.

They can only get better looking with age.

Here's some more shit I bought in BKK today:

two collapesable metal baton beating sticks at $3 each and a mini amplifier thing for $12
[Image: 001_3.jpg]

Two pairs of fake ass Ray bans ($3 each), some Beat by Dre headphones ($12) and some boner pills ($5 for four Cialis) and valium (70 cents each)

tissot and Tag Huer watches, about $17 each
[Image: 003_4.jpg]

Two big ass U-Boat watches, $40 each
[Image: 004_4.jpg]

Samsonite luggage, stowaway and carry-on, $130 for both
[Image: 001_4.jpg]

Like I say, I'm aware that this stuff isn't the best quality and may not be the coolest gear but whatever, I got some cheap shit that will look half decent in the cities I'll be living in over the next few months. I just wanted to give some of the guys an example of the kind of gear you can pick up in BKK for cheap.

Emech, no suits, I already have two that I bought in Colombia and that's enough for now, got one shirt though.

Man, you missunderstood me, I didn't say that they can't distinguish cheap nasty imitation from original stuff, just from my experience they assume that we westerns were legit clothes just because we are western. In those countries you mention people are even more alienated and branded than we are. Anyway, I confessed I travelled light of luggage and bought stuff there in the markets and they didn't run away from me nor showed any objection in getting laid with me because of the clothes (no pros, no p4p, just average girls, mostly university students). That's my experience, yours may be different.

P.S.: For your own security, stay the hell away from any woman who is willing to pay 15.000 $ in a bag

Thanks for your concern, but it's R, one of Suharto's granddaughter. Compared to her, Abramovitch is a broke trailer trash.

Higher class girls often are the ones I end up spending the least amount of money on (not because they pay - I always call the shots - but simply because they don't care about dinning, ect, they just want to enjoy the ride, have fun, and be sexually satisfied) and they put out some of the best uninhibited and UNCOMPLICATED sex.

Obviouly, my experience is different. Maybe we didn't frequent the same social circles in SEA.

To reiterate, the high value targets (and not the "average girls, mostly university students") in SEA are very very very fashion-conscious. Dress with cheap or fake and your sex-appeal will plummet.
