Date lab set up a nice guy who wrote a song about bacon with an asian girl. What he said before the date was interesting:

I'll take her if he doesn't. I think he's looking for the "one" and turns down everything else. Can't read thee rest of the article to know for sure.

It's funny how the commentators are trying to psychoanalyze every single action or word uttered. The female reactions are always amusing in these, they ALWAYS take the side of the female. The betas follow suit. Yet another reason beta men need to be shamed more in public for female pandering and less-than-manly behavior.

She has great hair, a decent body from what I can, but a rather average face. I've noticed that white guys, particularly the nerdy ones over-rate Asian women. Basically *any* Asian women is hot to them. Some of my Chinese co-workers always chuckle about this, and I don't think it's sour grapes because they have some wives/GFs that are actually quite good looking. The girl in the article is cute but that's it.

BTW: I love these Date Lab posts. I wonder, do any other major newspapers have a similar feature?

In general, I think girls and people generally go into dating totally the wrong way. As soon as they've committed to going on a date, they feel this great pressure to make it work. You're told to overlook the other person's flaws or mismatches, and like them regardless. Girls are way better off going on more dates instead of going on a few and "trying to make it work." Absent sex, there are plenty of cute girls who I just wouldn't enjoy as company.

Speed dating, in theory if not reality, is a great idea. The biggest flaw is its paucity of quality.

I think this girl is attractive, and he was definitely drawn to her personality. He appreciated that he didn't have to try to carry the conversation, and that she pretty much took that duty off his hands. It's actually HER schedule that's making it tough to hook up again, and he may already be growing tired of trying. On the other hand, she's interested and wants him to make it happen. I think he can bang this chick. She actually felt that ever elusive "spark." The only reason she didn't give the date a 5 was because he didn't go romantic enough after they left the restaurant. He shouldn't try to arrange the perfect date. Just get some quick face time over a drink, and don't let too much time pass. If a chick thinks you're wishy-washy, she'll go cold on you.

The commenters were pretty much talking out of their asses, and totally ignoring his assessment of her and the date. One commenter said he should just "shut up and listen to her," when that's pretty much all he did, and he said so. Another said he should "draw her out more," when again, he didn't have to do that. Just because he wasn't jumping up and down for joy, he got ripped. I will say this...he finally found a chick that is very un-D.C. like. She's attractive enough. He needs to make this happen.

I think it's a lot in part due to the whole myspace/facebook phenomenon. People got so used to listing their favorite music genres and everyone started taking it so seriously (girls far more so than guys). The betas react by validating themselves with their favorite types of music in fear of being rejected by women who don't share theirs...

Today, you've got the hipsters who disown any artist that isn't underground or indie... or whatever... because to them it's only cool if they're the only one who knows about it.
