Did you see any Blacks guys there??? I'm curious about how Black men are received in Belarus.

Im curious to know

a) when last you travelled past the limits of your own city and if you even have an updated passport

b) if the answer is "yes, them white hoes will suck your dick as you step off the plane" if it will encourage you to get your passport updated and travel somewhere so you can report on it

If it means we may finally get a contribution from you other than yet another question about how you may do in XXXX country as a black man or a comment about how you once fucked an Swedish girl in 1979, then yes, you will be treated like a God in Belarus.

They get MTV, they get few tourists, and even fewer black men. If you can speak just a little Russian or you can use the internet and pipeline, you will kill it because they would not have even probably met a black man if they never travelled.

Now what now? What are you plans sir? Is it going to make one iota of difference? Will you research this yourself seriously? Or are you going to kick back and wait for yet another thread to troll with the yet another similar fucking question about race again?

Every single fucking post from you is the same shit.

I have a sneaking suspicion he mines data from this forum to go elsewhere (online and otherwise) and tells about how he "knows" a bro in country X that is slaying the bitches. Either way, a troll is a troll. At least Indian troll had character.

I wanted to go to Belarus back in '05 and backed out after reading the visa requirements. I want to go but if the language barrier is a bitch......

As for bribes that doesn't bother me. If a couple Roubles goes that far think what a few grand in greenbacks would do if you actually did something real bad? The door swings both ways. Personally I like the freedom of having a choice of avoiding the legal system altogether.

I know, I know it's wrong. But when in Rome.......

I'm not so sure about Belarus.
If you check out the reports on International Sex Guide (http://www.internationalsexguide.info/), you'll see some less than spectacular reviews.

Also, it has a 32% obesity rate (compared to Ukraine's 19%, Poland 18 %, Moldova 13%).

On the other hand...the crisis is making things cheaper, and it is very isolated.
Hmmm...

Bud, I just checked that forum out. Its for men looking for escorts and paid pussy. Now I got no problem with fellas who decide to pay for it, Im saving the hookers for when I am married or in my 50's, but the paid pussy scene is always going to be very different from the sort of travel we are talking about.

The women, culturally, are very similar to Ukrainian and Russian women. They see fewer tourists and foreigners though. Minsk is no world city, but it is off the beaten track and as I say, a hidden gem

I definitely agree that Belarus is likely a hidden gem. I've been mentioning it on the 'Streets Paved with Pussy' thread.

It is far more untouched than the Baltics...and the talent level is about as good as it gets.

No time like 'hard times' to check out an FSU country...I've been thinking of checkin it out myself.

FSU = Former Soviet Union

Personally, I make a distinction between FSU countries and the Communist Bloc countries (Balkans, Central Europe). FSU countries are more untouched, raw, and with greater language barriers.

I'm throwing around going march or April. Seems the visa stuff isn't that bad, if you stay at a hotel they do all the invite etc, I was all over the Belarus website and a few others reading up on Belarus last night, sounds fun and interesting and everyone says the younger generation has a good chance of speaking English. Men go to work and women hit college for degrees and languages.

I haven't been myself but this is what I've heard first-hand:

Things are getting more grim there by the day. The rate of inflation is over 80% YTD, with the price of staples like oatmeal rising by near 30% in October alone.

More and more people can't afford basic necessities. The police and the KGB are brutally cracking down on protesters. The situation on the ground is tense.

The upside of this is that hard currency will get you further than ever.

None of this should stop you from going, but be prepared to witness serious hardship. It won't be a comfortable trip. In terms of accommodation you can certainly find something cheaper than the hotels, but if you don't speak Russian it may be tricky to navigate lettings, etc. Your visa also requires that you find somewhere to live within a certain number of days (5 days or similar) - which gives you limited time to search for a place if you're planning to stay longer.

As long as you're from anywhere other than Belarus you'll be considered exotic and girls will certainly give you a lot of time and be curious about you. Just keep in mind that English is not widespread at all so you're best off learning some basic Russian before going.

Meat is hard to buy because due to the xrate it's all being sold to Russia, banks won't sell usd for rubles because people are trying to dump their rubles. Black market for usd is almost 2x what the official rate is. Russia just declined a 1.2 billion dollar loan that Belarus wanted, now they are waiting for IMF and EU to approve a loan..... Probably won't happen unless they sell state owned companies, and fix human rights problems. Seems like all of the prices I am seeing online are in usd not rubles. [Image: sad.gif]

Lumiere, have you ever been to Belarus ? Getting a visa should not be that difficult. I wonder if Belarus is dangerous though.

From what I've heard the crime rate is relatively low (apart from the usual stuff like pickpocketing, etc.). It's a police state with tough penalties so the place is likely locked down.

I'd be more wary of credit card fraud or having your online credentials stolen when using insecure machines / networks.

What's the deal with that passportplayers website? Can't really access it as you have to be an invited member, anyone a member and confirm if it's good? I don't understand why they keep it members only, surely just means less info is shared.

Best Places in Minsk

-Clubs

NEXT

Night Club "NEXT" in Minsk Belarus It is premium-class club, the only one in Minsk, where every single client is pure VIP. “Next” means fresh breath into Minsk night life. Large dance flour, elegant bar, modern interior, up-to-date music, original show-programme and hospitable atmosphere – that is all about “Next” club.

Kirova Str., 13 (3rd floor in Crown Plaza Hotel)
Tel: +375 17 218-34-35, +375 44 718-77-77
Alkatraz

So, you pay, and then get frisked by ersatz prison guards on the way in. The tiny dance floor is heaving with young ladies trying to get a good place in front of the large mirror, and the waitresses dress in prison-issue hot pants. The major novelty, which can be good fun if you`re with a group of people, is found in the private drinking rooms, which have iron bars and can be locked. The music is always funky, and generally of the grin-inducing variety. A rare treat, where people really have fun.
Nezavisimosty Ave, 25 (beneath the Trade Unions Culture Palace)
Tel: (+375-17) 226 06 45
Barberry

It`s so damn loud in this so-called industrial club that it`s tempting to write this review in capital letters so you can hear it. Quite good fun, although it can fill up with single males drinking champagne solitaire, and generally enjoying their leather waistcoats. This is the hardest techno venue in town, featuring the double-edged curiosity that is friendly and appalling service. Note, a ticket bought at the Madison club next door (see below) gets you into this place for free.
Timiryazeva 9
Tel: (+375-17) 226 06 45
Madison

After dishing out the steep admission fee (also valid for the Blindage club next door - see above), cross the bridge over the psychedelic pond to enter the bar and dancing area. Late Saturday night, we found a rather upscale and meek audience, not really into partying to the mainstream music. More than just a club, Madison also entertains with 10 bowling lanes, computer games and of course a florist.

Timiryazeva 9
Tel: (+375-17) 219 00 10
Africa

Africa" is a fresh African style nightclub. Africa Club is a disco with the original design, three bars, VIP-zone, and a large dance floor. Capacity of the club is around 1000. Main music kinds are house, electro, techno. Almost every night is a special party with some different program and music style. Disco is technically well equipped. Powerful sound and the lights allow you to enjoy the club atmosphere. The main feature of the Africa Club is the interior, which makes us feel like we're on the hot climate continent (palm trees, drawings, sculptures, natural materials). Average enter fee on the weekend - 15 usd.

Timeriazeva Str., 9
Tel: +375 17 307 47 90, +375 29 360 76 06
Overtime

The face controll makes this place filled with good-looking people; no prostitutes, the biggest bar in Minsk, nice music. The entrance fee is 10-15 USD. They often do not let you in because the club is overcrowded or some special party is held.

Pobediteley Ave., 4
Tel: (+375-17) 203 02 24
West-World Club

Minsk`s most popular nightclub is a veritable monster of a semicircular affair with a bar at either end and podiums for semi-erotic dancing. At about 24:00 the place goes ballistic and fills nightly to capacity with a whole range of characters, from the elegant prostitutes at the bar to the 40-something divorcees hell-bent on having a good time until the sun comes up. If you run out of money, just nip downstairs to the casino where a 24-hour currency exchange will happily provide you with more roubles to waste. Ghastly, fun, and yet ever-so essential.

Storozhevskaya 15
Tel: (+375-17) 239 17 98
Yula

The three principal reasons for any self-respecting idiot to visit are (in no particular order) 1: to pick up a bit of totty. 2: to play pool on one of two tables in the lobby. 3: to marvel at the little cakes and biscuits dancing in an erotic manner around their little silver poles on the stage.

P Dog-

"Is Belarus the sort of place where bribing cops and officials as a foreigner is common?"

I met a dude that was teaching English in Poland and has traveled all over Eastern Europe. He said he bribed the immigration officers at the border to get into Belarus. I don't remember how much money it was but not that much. He said he saw tons of beautiful women though.

I would think economic failure would mean more value for the $, can anyone explain why places are charging 15USD to get into a club? Sure I understand the old "keep the rif raf out" and charge at the door, but that seems a bit steep for a third world country.

and go to Hotels.com, or kayak where the cheapest hotel is 180USD? thats nuts, I understand foreign products are going to be more expensive to buy for locals, it seems like instead of using their devalued currency they are charging in USD's.

There appear to be a handful of ex-Soviet hotels that won't appear on the major travel sites. If you walk into these places with dollars you can usually score some cheap rooms - less than $50usd. I've stayed in places like these - they are huge, from the Brezhnev era/70's and complete throwbacks to the Red days.

In the mean time, he'll just continue to drag down good threads like the Lviv and Latvia thread with his narcissistic racial spouting. You never hear the bitchin and complaining about this shit from black guys that actually get laid. Anyone with real game doesn't waste time whining about cultural issues that arent likely to change.
