Online Game: Is Instagram worth the pain in the ass?

I will try this. The thing I hate most is when I post a picture and get likes and follow request from some +10k photographer and I return the favor by liking some of their photos and following them and they "repay" this few days later with unfollow.

That is why I have follow cop app which tells me who unfollowed me so I can unfollow them back.

Yeah, me too. That is the reason why I do not follow back those big accounts. It is a waste of time. They are fully automated.

When they unfollow me, I block them.

I don't use IG as a pipelining tool, but as a "slow cooking" tool. Will ask for the IG instead of a phone number these days.

If she doesn't have one, I actually take that as a red flag (I'm looking for plates, not wives).

Same, the ones who don't give it out are already wives/girlfriends and only want attention so it's pointless to do anything there. I don't get why so many guys in the manosphere hate ig, the real tragedy is when you have socially inexperienced 18yos asking about this and some boomer on his 3rd divorce says ig is gay and feminine so he needs to avoid it at all cost. Absolute tragedy.

Guys seem stuck on a binary mindset that either you must be a billionaire playboy with mansions or lambos or you get stuck as a bloated soyboy whiteknighting every whale you can find in your daily 10 hour IG sessions.

Why not just post 1 or 2 random pics a week, only use it while you're on the toilet or in a uber ride, use it to expand your social circle, network with nightlife connectors, use ig instead of phone/text so their guard is down, and it lets you screen them while you passively display dhv (no, not 1 hour airbnb mansions) as a cool socially connected guy whos got more going on than work/school, eat, sleep, gym, like 99% of guys she meets.

You get all those benefits for 5 minutes a day and as long as you have 50 followers you're good to go.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. A few years ago I would have agreed wholeheartedly and chimed in on my negative theories towards instagram.

But fact is if you were killing it on Instagram and pulling hotties regularly you wouldn't be complaining so much. If you do it correctly its life changing.

Its just one of those things that you gotta make a decision to sacrifice a little of your dignity in order to compete with the times.

After years of stubbornly refusing to have an IG profile, recently I have finally given up yet another part of my soul and created one.

"sacrificing a little of your dignity in order to compete with the times" is pretty much how I see it.

I have already had success with it within a mere 5 days of using it, and this is with a profile that currently has less than 30 followers.

I have already been added and messaged randomly by girls, and I don't look even close to a male model. All I did was post some good quality photos showcasing my lifestyle (without me even being in the photos myself, the only place they see my face is in my shitty profile pic).

This is not to be ignored, and I am finally on the bandwagon, albeit in my own way and I refuse to become addicted to this shit.

As soon as I find myself in an LTR again my profile probably goes out the window right away, but now that Im looking for girls I might as well have a presence on the platform they hang out at the most, whether I like it or not (I don't, if that wasn't obvious yet).

Emphasis on the bolded. Girls are posting aspects of themselves on their IGs. Through looking at them, you can glean aspects of their personality, With those aspects, one can integrate them into a zero date bang recipe. Girls gets the impression "wow, he really knows who I am!"

The value of dating sites is that all users are (ostentatiously at least) single and in your vicinity.

How do you filter for single girls in your area on Instagram?

If a girl isn't single, in 90% of cases you'll be able to tell through her instagram photos. Location tagging is also the norm now, so it's pretty easy to see if she's in your area or not

It really isn't that easy, I've followed chicks that have no boyfriend in sight and next thing you know they post an engagement picture.

Yes, a lot of them seem to avoid posting pics of their boyfriends because they know that their thirsty male followers won't be as likely to 'like' such pics. Or they'll do a slide composite with the first few pics of just themselves and maybe their friends, and the last pic - which you obviously have to scroll to see - with their boyfriend.

I've explicitly had Instagram models/influencers tell me they won't post relationship pics because they want to appear more available in order to accrue followers.

I've noticed this to be very true as well actually, so the method isn't foolproof. It's usually the girls who are trying to be IG famous and who think they're models that hide the bf because like you said, she knows her male followers don't wanna see that.

But I'd still argue that the majority of the time you should be able to find a sign of a boyfriend either in the bio (putting heart next to initials), her pictures, or tagged pictures. If you really have time, you can even take a look at the Vsco.co or Facebook. But again the method obviously isn't foolproof.

Instagram hides like counts in leaked prototype

This follows Twitter testing the same thing (hiding retweet counts), although in Twitter's case it may have to do with ratio'ing.

Will be a move in the right direction if it happens.

Quote:Quote:

“We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get. During this test, only the person who shares a post will see the total number of likes it gets.” That’s how Instagram describes a seemingly small design change test with massive potential impact on users’ well-being.

Hiding Like counts could reduce herd mentality, where people just Like what’s already got tons of Likes. It could reduce the sense of competition on Instagram, since users won’t compare their own counts with those of more popular friends or superstar creators. And it could encourage creators to post what feels most authentic rather than trying to rack up Likes for everyone to see.

The design change test was spotted by Jane Manchun Wong, the prolific reverse-engineering expert and frequent TechCrunch tipster who has spotted tons of Instagram features before they’re officially confirmed or launched. Wong discovered the design change test in Instagram’s Android code and was able to generate the screenshots above.

You can see on the left that the Instagram feed post lacks a Like count, but still shows a few faces and a name of other people who’ve Liked it. Users are alerted that only they will see their post’s Like counts, and anyone else won’t. Many users delete posts that don’t immediately get “enough” Likes or post to their fake “Finstagram” accounts if they don’t think they’ll be proud of the hearts they collect. Hiding Like counts might get users posting more because they’ll be less self-conscious.

Instagram confirmed to TechCrunch that this design is an internal prototype that’s not visible to the public yet. A spokesperson told us: “We’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.” Other features we’ve reported on in the same phase, such as video calling, soundtracks for Stories and the app’s time well spent dashboard, all went on to receive official launches.

Meanwhile, Wong has also recently spotted several other Instagram prototypes lurking in its Android code. Those include chat thread stickers for Direct messages, augmented reality filters for Direct Video calls, simultaneous co-watching of recommended videos through Direct, karaoke-style lyrics that appear synced to soundtracks in Stories, emoji reactions to feed posts and a shopping bag for commerce.

It appears there’s no plan to hide follower counts on user profiles, which are the true measure of popularity, but also serve a purpose of distinguishing great content creators and assessing their worth to marketers. Hiding Likes could just put more of a spotlight on follower and comment counts. And even if users don’t see Like counts, they still massively impact the feed’s ranking algorithm, so creators will still have to battle for them to be seen.

The change matches a growing belief that Like counts can be counter-productive or even harmful to users’ psyches. Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom told me back in 2016 that getting away from the pressure of Like counts was one impetus for Instagram launching Stories. Last month, Twitter began testing a design that hides retweet counts behind an extra tap to similarly discourage inauthentic competition and herd mentality. And Snapchat has never shown Like counts or even follower counts, which has made it feel less stressful but also less useful for influencers.

Narcissism, envy spiraling and low self-image can all stem from staring at Like counts. They’re a constant reminder of the status hierarchies that have emerged from social networks. For many users, at some point it stopped being fun and started to feel more like working in the heart mines. If Instagram rolls out the feature, it could put the emphasis back on sharing art and self-expression, not trying to win some popularity contest.

Bros, when you’re at a bar, how do you filter for chicks who have boyfriends? You don’t. You make your move and if she’s got one (at least one who she won’t cheat on), she’ll tell you. Until then it’s game on.

Same with IG, except you have the benefit of most (not all) chicks posting pics with their bfs so you know in advance. If she isn’t posting him, assume she’s available.

On a related note, cold DMing influencer chicks on the gram is terribly low ROI. These girls get 100 DMs a day. Unless your IG is killer or she’s already given you interest (liking your pics for example), it isn’t even worth the effort.

Online Game: Is Instagram worth the pain in the ass?

I’ve been out of the IG game since day one. But I’ve realized in the past few months that it’s the current way of getting online bangs. So last week I bought an account with 12,200 followers and am transitioning the images to mine before I switch the name and main photo to one of me. I skipped that whole “spend all your time” BS and will now just use it to look popular and go straight to using for game

My IG isn't particularly huge. It's kind of cool as it shows me doing some particularly cool stuff but it's far from Bilzerian's lifestyle. I personally think it's worth it. FWIW a girl from another country wants to fly out to see me. If I get the bang I'll report back. Only a few people that know me in real life know I'm on there.

The way I see it is I already have one girl that wants to see me if I up my portfolio by showing me as a cool guy that will get more women from other countries to fly to see me. Once I get traveling I could tag places I'm at and regulars will notice, like a celebrity effect. Deep down inside I believe social media is for trash (I'm too busy to give a fuck about your trip to Aruba or how your broke ass rides the bus). But if you want to have an even harder time dating women then abstain from it.

Can you elaborate more on this? I wouldn't mind paying more to make the follower acquisition process instant like this. All of the previous content from the account will now show up in your profile or will you be able to replace with your own photos?

That's a really bad idea. High follower counts with no picture quality/real comments to match looks super sketchy. Girls aren't dumb, they know about fake followers.

Maybe I am new to this but does having a high follower count really matter? I think having good looking pictures of you being in shape with abs maybe doing a couple activities and travel pictures would matter more. The only way I am using IG now is if I meet a girl and she has it and uses that instead of her number other than that I think if the women likes you by the conversation and when you talked to her that will matter more. I see some men with 223k followers and only follow 300 people with women commenting them and they post 2-3 times a week, so maybe it works and then others with 1000 followers and following 1200 with barely any posts (less than 50). Who knows who is actually banging the girls and what is for show.

Having a high follow count AND a cool profile does matter. I am nowhere near 223K and I have already gotten one girl that wants to meet me. I can only imagine it's more pronounced at that level.

You can also do what I posted earlier which is show up at a popular bar or club and get a picture with a hot chick. It's frankly stupid to see people dehumanize others over follower counts but the other option is sitting on the sidelines.

Also I wouldn't be too focused on being that guy that only has ab pictures you really need a cool lifestyle. Your follower count will reflect how people perceive you unless you're known for being the king of nerds like a WoW professional gamer.

The profile i bought had 30 posts with 12000 active and mostly real followers. It was travel photography based. I am actually a photographer for work so I’m uploading about 2 posts per day and am getting real likes and comments from my photos. I am deleting the old photos as I upload new ones so soon they will be all my images. Once they are all my images I will change the profile name from the travel based photo name to my own name and will all all my friends and social circle and then will try to build it legitimately. At that point I’m going to use it to game and add girls so I can DM

Like I posted above, I already got laid from cold adding a girl on IG (I have to add this is in South East Asia so not the hardest place on earth by any means).

My profile at the time had <30 followers and 8 photos (of which none had me in it, Im only seen in the profile pic which isnt even great).

What the 8 photos do have going for them is they're all great quality, taken by me, and they display a cool lifestyle.

Yesterday I transformed my empty profile (ex archery related profile that I didn't want to use anymore but didn't delete) into my personal profile, so now I have photography related and personal one.

Posted my first picture and story and I will go from there. Plan is to show various things I do and present them as interesting even though some of them might not be regarded as really interesting ones (such as archery and bow building for example). It will be sort of a jack of all trades, with a range of different stuff. Read some really good guides and I have plan in my head how it will go from now on.

I have an IG account with some thousands of followers. I used a Tinder account to locate girls near me and added them to IG. Some began to follow me back. I never give them likes. I see their Stories and respond to some of them intelligently, never mentioning their appearance, always appealing to the intellect. I already banged two cuties this way.

If girls don't really take Tinder seriously where you live then this is a good approach. I'm doing the same as of lately; just some small talk on tinder and if I feel she's not ready for a date (yet) we just exchange IG and then I'm just giving it some time and respond to their stories when appropriate. Shows that you're not the needy tinder guy.
