Radio Stations Pull 'Baby Its Cold Outside' Over "Rape Song" Claims

It is a shame younger guys will never know how the world was before it became so easy to travel. When it took more effort, there were fewer people willing to do it. [...] I'm not even touching meeting entire cities full of women without smart phones, no apps and didn't even get to meet foreigners very often. And of course, much lower notch counts.

I remember those days well. Two decades ago, I was making too much money doing too little work in silicon valley during the first dot-com boom, and the only girl I could get to date me in the bay area was a land whale. There were other people thirsty enough to go for her; not me, thank you very much.

So, one thing led to another and I soon decided to go to Latin America to see if I could do better. And, indeed, a beautiful girl was in my bed passionately making out with me within two months of touchdown (She’s still my Facebook friend today to boot).

This was before online game was a thing, and long before feminists and SJWs got butthurt over men learning how to seduce women. Comparing the posts from women in the USA (whining about rape and misogyny) and the women in Latin America (seductive posts, lots of innuendo; the only Latina who whined about “rape” was this young stoner loser) on my Facebook feed, I still think it’s easier to get laid in Latin America, but it will take longer than it did back when no one knew about game and it was impossible to find resources online about getting laid abroad.

Edit: To go back to the original topic, I do not think anyone reasonable would want this old seduction song, which yes, was co-written by a woman, to be banned as a “rape” song. Too bad today’s SJWs and bitter ugly harpy feminists are not reasonable people.

I can't fucking believe it. The SJW Left became the Religious Right when they were bitching about Metal Music. Some of the Pearls before Swine strips in the last week made fun of this.

I just realized today marks the 25th anniversary of the death of Frank Zappa. How appropriate.

Zappa was the poster boy when it came to getting banned. Back in the 1980s, he fought the good fight against the PMRC, who were doing then to rock music what the SJWs are doing now to just about everything.

Here is one of his most offensive songs, "Jewish Princess." Not only was it banned in radio, but it earned him the wrath of the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) who demanded an apology. Of course, Zappa refused.

Damn, I had a Jewish college roommate who loved this song - never knew about the ADL bitching! I think my roommate eventually found his Jewish princess.[Image: lol.gif]

Here's something only the music geeks will care about. There actually was a precedent for the type of ban "Baby, It's Cold Outiside" just got.

It happened nearly 50 years ago to one-hit wonder group called The Neon Philharmonic, whose only hit, Morning Girl," offended legions with its morning-after story about a girl who just lost her virginity and is feeling emotionally traumatized.

The lines that set off alarm bells are in the second verse and allude to both coercion and regret:

"Mornin' girl, was that you last night?
Crying on the radio
Beggin' for a way to go
To go back where love wasn't jumbled so"

I'm surprised there is no reference to this anywhere on the Web. Maybe it's just not general knowledge. I only learned of this song's banning from an old disc jockey who was barred from playing it on his radio station.

Anyway, the song made it to #17 in the spring of 1969. The lyrical thrust (heh) might make you think you're getting Rolling Stones raunch, but it's a sophisticated-sounding "baroque pop" number. Here is the original mono single mix:

The CBC stated they will be playing baby its cold outside.

I find it funny that a government run media company (A Canadian one too) has reinstated it but the private ones are still banning it

Several media outlets, including The Hill, are reporting that Kentucky radio station WAKY played "Baby, It's Cold Outside" for two straight hours to protest the song's banning by other stations.

Earlier in the thread, I wrote that the best way to make a piece of music the most famous song in the world is to try and ban it, because everyone wants forbidden fruit.

Looks like that's what happened here. The idiot censors took an obscure holiday song, attempted it stamp it out of existence for unrealistic, paranoid reasons, and now it's reaching people who never even would have cared about it.

Great job, SJWs!

Breaking news as of today 12/18/18! Billboard Magazine is reporting that Dean Martin's version of "Baby, It's Cold Outside" just hit the Top Ten on the Digital Song Sales Chart.

That's not the Holiday Chart, mind you. On that chart, he's now at #2, just behind Mariah Carey and her perennial "All I Want For Christmas Is You." Martin is in the Top Ten on the general Digital Sales Chart. His version of the song just saw a 70 percent surge in sales in the past few weeks.

Should I repeat my comment a third time that if you want to make a song popular, just ban it? Guess I just did.

If anyone cares, the woman singing along with Dean Martin on this duet is the obscure Marilyn Maxwell, not Doris Day as most assume (source).

There's only one solution to this. We have to fight back. We must band together and protest "I saw mommy kissing santa clause" and have it banned from all radio stations. It obviously promotes female hypergamy, adultery, cuckoldry and all around general sluttery thereby breaking apart families and destroying our nation. [Image: tard.gif]

If you're gonna do a Rape Song, you might as well do it properly. GG Allin didn't beat around the bush....

There's a live video that gets reuploaded and pulled every now and then where he's singing stark naked. He chases a girl through the crowd with a microphone in one hand and his dick in the other screaming "I'M GONNA RAPE YOU!"

Now THAT'S a Rape Song.

There is nothing wrong with the lyrics of the song. I hope 2 Live Crew does a cover of it and gives it their own "reinterpretation". At least that would give people something to be offending about.

Have yourself a Nasty Christmas!

Having said that, the choreography of the original is very cringey by today's standards. The guy is continually grabbing the girl by her elbow to stop her from leaving. If you were doing this, particularly on campus, you are setting yourself up.
