Will Trump really run for re-election in 2020 ? (What if he does not)

Yes, I am 100% sure that he will. His ego is too large to not even try.

Will Trump really run for re-election in 2020 ? (What if he does not)

Trump has placed himself solidly as a target of the legacy establishments of both parties while effectively taking over the GOP through an ideological purge which sacrificed the House while solidifying his Senate. He's gained a bit more leverage where it counts if he keeps Presidenting while if he steps down he's made enough enemies to ruin his and his family's legacies if he doesn't follow through on Great Again.
The projects Trump quit as a business man, he quit because the downside of continuing outweighed the upside. It was a matter of throwing in the towel or actually losing by continuing to burn capital and influence. Now that he's in politics the math is different. He has to preserve his influence and his power by getting re-elected or the Deep State et al which had been indifferent to him as a businessman will bury him and his family.

You know there's a site called PredictIt where you can bet on whether or not Trump will win in 2020. For the people who think he won't then put er up.
I honestly don't know if he will run again or not. I don't even know if he will win because like I said in the Trump thread if someone were to outextreme him (whether left or right) he could lose. Or if the GOP decides to stab him in the back and place Pence in then of course he'll lose.
What we can do is take care of ourselves, our family, our friends, and the RVF community. We can learn new skills and relocate to safer places to buy more time.
@BB
"When I speak of his family I don't mean their potential political careers. I mean that if Trump quits, his family is going to be hounded, harassed, and prosecuted. Trump, his family, and what he stands for is going to be subject to the left's intense hate for a long time and he has to destroy his enemies in a way quitting doesn't allow."
Agreed, only exception is if he's with the elites. Time will tell because if Trump doesn't turn things around and the media doesn't incite the left to attack him once he's out of office then the right got suckered. Look at George W Bush, the man the media hated and now he gets heralded for being Never Trump.

This does not deserve even a mention, let alone a thread.

OP and various commenters: You guys really worry for a living.
He WILL run again, for President Donald J. Trump knows exactly what is at stake here and he considers it his ordained responsibility to safe what is left of America from the gender bending Marxist rabble hell bent on destroying it.
Oh, and by the way... as always... HE WILL WIN! Which means WE WILL WIN.
Now with all due respect: I suggest everyone STFU and instead focus on helping President Trump to maximize what remains of his first term. Wining about negligible and purely hypothetical issues should be grounds for a temporary ban. And I'm only half joking here esteemed gentlemen.
We are facing a serious, powerful, deeply embedded, and determined enemy, and who by the way is not abiding by any rules. There is zero margin for error and failure is not an option. So instead of wondering what may happen or not, I suggest that everyone take concerted action instead to make a difference in your own lives and the people you care for.
Look at our venerable host Sir. Roosh The Brass Balled: he's effectively embraced the black pill and is going far and beyond what could be expected to get the word out and warn as many young men as possible about the dim reality that is looming directly ahead. Roosh is doing this knowing full well that his life may completely and irrevocably be destroyed for doing this. But just like President Trump (blessed be his name) he has accepted this responsibility and is willing to take this all the way, no matter where it leads.
BTW, if you have not listened to Roosh's past two webcasts I strongly recommend you do so. I thought I knew what was going on after years of contributing here. But the past two episodes were huge eye openers for me.
I think I made my point and apologize in advance for my candor. But I'm an old dog who has been around the block a few times, thus it is my self imposed duty to occasionally kick you young bucks in the ass and point you in the right direction.
We CAN and we WILL win this. But it will take all we've got and then some. So let's quit screwing around and instead get busy.
MAGA!

I have to say the trash talking and belittling that goes on is depressing. The OP is posing a very relevant question and I do believe he has some insights into Trump's character. Now since you've all been waiting for what I have to say here goes.
Trump did not win big in 2016. He lost by over 3 million votes and 2 percentage points. Yes, I know we do not elect Presidents by popular votes, I taught history for a while. He won because of razor thin victories in states like MI, WI, and PA. Rust Belt states that have both been hurting and ignored since the 1970s. The Globalists and their lackeys in politics and the press went ballistic over their surprising loss in 2016 and have worked both diligently and viciously to overturn this election. They have all but accomplished this in the midterms of 2018 which were not lackluster but a complete disaster for the GOP. If you have the time and the inclination do a district by district analysis of the Congressional elections and you will see that most of the districts the Democrats flipped will be extremely difficult to flip back. New England is solid and apparently permanently blue. Will the last Republican in NY, NJ, IL and CA please turn out the lights. Suburban women, particularly white women have turned the tide in the suburbs in favor of the Democrats. Additionally you have big business like GM with their recent announcements of cutbacks, and the Feds apparent desire to raise rates until there is another recession as looming crises the President must face. Guys make no mistake about it. Brexit and Trump shook the Globalists to their core. They are fighting back and winning. Trump is going to need a Johnny Unitas like 4th quarter comeback to salvage his Presidency. As for the rest of the Republican Party they are not called the Stupid Party for nothing. It looks very bad for 2020 and whatever happens Trump's enemies will never give him any quarter as long as he's still breathing.

If Trump doesn't start serious swamp draining he will be ruined by a communist revenge plot the day he leaves office. Reputation, finances, and I honestly think they will imprison him on some bullshit charge.
While I'm dissapointed in many ways by Trump, keep in mind he kept Hillary out. It is still way too early to give up on Trump, but at this point everyone needs to be working on contingency plans.

Of course he will run. Only reason he wouldn't is that if his life or that of his immediate family members were threatened. IIRC this happened to Ross Perot, whose daughter;s life was threatened by the Bush clan/deep state. I don't think it's going to happen to Trump though, because he's got part of the deep state in his camp, they've got his back.
Trump won big, the score was 304 to 227. That was the final score, and the only one that matters. I think he will win again, by a narrower score, because the Dems candidate can't possibly be as bad as the crooked witch.

Initially I was in the the camp that Trump would only do one term out of choice as he would accomplish so much and then grow boerd of the job. Now, with a split Congress, I switch positions to see him run for 2020 so he can retake both houses and finish off his checklist.

911, great post. I also think that Trump will run and win. However, the DS have their claws in him now via the various swamp creatures in his cabinet. He no longer poses as big a threat to their interests as he did in 2016.
Think Jack Nicholson at the end of Cuckoo's Nest. That's essentially what happened to Trump, in my opinion.
