I have heard this guy may do a lot to end Mexico's drug war. If that is the case, more people will be happy to stay there.

Lots of socialists don't end up being socialists after they win. Roger Douglas in New Zealand was a great example.

Mexico is actually more advanced than many American think. They have a GDP slightly smaller than Russia and are projected to overtake Russia in the future. San Diego is already planning to buy water from the Rosarito desalination plant. Mexico is expanding its relations with China to be more independent. There are now more Chinese tourists in Tijuana than American.

Right, it's interesting how many Americans think of Mexico as a "shit----," and in a lot of ways, especially in regards to criminality, it absolutely is, but in regards to financial development, when compared to much of the world, it's a fairly wealthy country. It just looks bad on the economic front when compared to countries like the U.S.

Close the border. Deport invaders. Stop all aid to Mexico. Shut down welfare and heavily tax US dollars legal immigrants send to Mexico. Slap tariffs on to Mexican exports. If the cartels want to get really nasty, respond with military force. But most of all, let Mexico deal with its personal affairs. It should be free to choose to remain third world with strong man rulers.
