You left a few things out there tough guy. Khabib and his team have been saying for a while that Conor is chicken and ducking fights yet he's been pretty damn active aside from his hiatus to box Floyd Mayweather and enjoy his $100million payday. On the other hand, Khabib is notorious for getting injured, not cutting weight properly and pulling out of fights. Lobov simply defending his bro saying Conor shows up when it's time to fight, unlike Khabib. But that's all trash talk and part of the sport to hype things up so who cares.

However, Khabib did not handle things "1 on 1" in the hotel, he had his whole crew behind him when he put his hands on Artem Lobov, who was solo. And who knows what else was said.

Also, if you go back a few months, some Dagastanis (where Khabib's from) were hasseling Lobov at a club about Conor running from a Khabib fight. Russia MMA fighter Rasul Misarez was also there, helped Lobov to diffuse the situation. Later Rasul was beaten pretty badly by the Dagastani thugs. Unsure how close they were with Khabib but could be relevant in the events that just took place.

That being said, what Conor did was stupid as he ended up hurting other people who had nothing to do their beef and I wouldn't have personally handled it that way. But flying into another country a day after your friend gets bullied to confront the guys who did it is hardly weak and definitely shows loyalty. Message sent: run up on my friend alone with a bunch of dudes - expect the same in return.

What would you have done if you were in the shoes of:
1) Lobov... would you fight 10 guys at once?
2) Mcgregor.. would you sit back and do nothing after your good friend got circled and slapped?

I'll be honest with you guys, back in the day if some fighter from another camp brought all his dudes to come punk one of our fighters like in the video, we probably would have jump their asses next chance we got as well. That would have been crossing the line. Had he just gone over to him to talk one on one, we would have let that slide.

Here is the thing though, back then, all camps were afraid to fuck with other camps. It's like prized racing greyhounds thinking about fighting another team of prized racing greyhounds. It's just tooooo risky. It fucks up the money and jail isn't cheap either. Our heavyweights could possibly even kill the other teams 160 pounders, put someone in a coma, etc. Their team likely has heavyweights too.

You are talking about 1%ers fighting other 1%ers. Nothing good can come from that.

Fights between MMA camps are rare and for a very good reason. This newer generation of fighters though might be alot more likely to brawl though, especially since they have alot more money than we did lol. Most of us had day jobs back then.

I also want to say that promoting a upcoming fight with trash talk used to not be taken so seriously either. That dude getting bent out of shape because the other fighter called him a pussy, is pretty salty and unprofessional. If he truly did not like that a phone call to explain the boundaries of what is acceptable to promote the fight would have been better. Not this weak shit of surrounding him with his entire team and barking him down. That's foul.

My camp had a rival camp. We used to trash talk about each other like this too to generate hype etc.. The most we ever did was mean mug each other at the events. That's it.

I haven't figured all this out exactly but there seems to be some sort of personality types that are more appealed to Conor McGregor style of basically just being a loud cocky badmouth with extreme confidence while being at the top.

Then you have people that don't like him at all. I have some engineer friends who are interested in MMA that are very practical, logical and perhaps not the most social and extroverted people and they hate him and guys like Floyd Mayweather Jr. I don't think they can relate to people like that because they're not types that speak so highly of themselves.

Then there's the type that is kind of neutral to him and just blabber about shit like this because they like a bit of gossip, drama and to be social and talk about this kind of shit with their friends or joke around.

And I think that if you got a brand in business you can't try to appeal to all of those. If you try to chase and appeal to all types of personality types you'll probably end up with less money than if you focus on one. Can't be cocky, confident, funny, humble and likeable all at the same time...

When you make huge money suddenly, then it's better to take a step back and take a breather, maybe eat some humble pie that balances you, spend time with friends who tell you the truth, spend time with family who will also tell you the truth.

Some of the most balanced celebs take time and go on non-celebrity fueled bike trips, travel incognito in poor areas, are hiking and going hunting in the woods. When you are surrounded by private jets, cocaine and sycophants, then you can quickly lose any footing to sanity.

This will likely just cost him money, but it was completely unnecessary.

And as far as money goes - those sports stars often forget that even billionaires are on a budget - their budget is just just 5-30 mio $/ per month. (it's extremely high, but it's still a budget) For athletes you have to take into account that the money has to last a lifetime while the most profitable career is usually over in their 30s or 40s. So that means that they cannot live like a double-digit billionaire while having 5% of the long-term earning power of a billionaire.

McGregor simply lost that footing with reality. But maybe he can find it again.

Yeah, I wouldn't call myself low iq as I am a month away from graduating and becoming a software engineer but I do support Conor more than I do a lot of other fighters because I'm an extreme extrovert and engage in quite a bit of british/locker-room style banter and I have found myself rubbing a certain type of person the wrong way in the past if I'm not careful with what I say. That's a big reason for why I like guys like Dana and Trump as well, I would change it if I could but honestly I've just changed who I interact with and I don't get too casual with the introverted type anymore if I think they wouldn't appreciate it. Also getting into a couple terribly stupid one-on-one street fights half a year ago with fully grown way bigger men and avoiding any legal and physical consequences (although my knees, forehead and arms were all scraped up from shooting doubles on the road) has curbed my carelessness with random confrontation and made me firmly plan to live the rest of my life without getting into a street fight, I do relate to guys like Bisping and Conor despite not holding a candle to their fighting prowess because I have gotten into similar trouble and I hope Conor gets out of this well on the other end.

I'm sure some here think I'm despicable or a blowhard or an idiot and they are probably all true but I have stayed out of trouble for a while and made changes and I know I can manage it for the rest of my life, I can't fully curtail and change my nature but I'm also young enough where I think it might just be the aggression, non-risk-aversion and competitiveness that mellows over time. The UFC had to cancel one or two bouts because one or more of the participating fighters was injured when McGregor slammed the dolly into the van window. He's on video doing it. There's also a video from inside the van of the fighters vocalizing being injured. This is going to cost him a lot of money. A lot.

If I were White, I might let him off the hook by making him sign a contract that guarantees he does something like two fights a year against the opponent and at the place of the UFC's choosing. The UFC will take a bigger cut of the door than they normally do. And, he has to sign a stricter code of conduct with severe financial penalties for failure to comply.

This is actually a gold mine for the UFC if it plays it right.
