I'm starting a sales job this week and am willing to put the time outside work to succeed. I am wondering if I should approach every day in order to build my social skills to be better at sales. I will he in a SDR position and am looking go he the best. Would approaching be worth my time to be a better salesman? I don't game like I use to due to some other issues that can be another thread in itself. But now I have my life in tact to where I can balance things out a bit

I don't necessarily work in sales, but many of my family members do and all the guys in my family with the best sales records also have the best game. If anything, game is about presenting the best possible version of yourself to people and I strongly believe that people only buy things from people that they like. If you become a cooler, more socially-adept you, you will be a better salesman. Regardless, I reccomend approaching just because talking to girls feels like nothing when you know you could land in any city with a bag of items and sell them to people.
Experience: I upsell my private language students on more lessons.
I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

They both help one another, sure.
For me it was the other way around. I came to game because I had to learn sales for my job, so I read any decent book I could get my hands on, and one book mentioned that every salesman should check out "The Game" by Strauss.
I read it in one sitting, then debriefed my boss about how it could help us the next day. Plus we both got interested in game, and he actually boned up as well and used it to find, court, and marry his wife the year after that.

Great question.
Let me throw a monkey wrench in your plans.
Don't get distracted.
What you need to do is become an expert in your sales organization's and your job's pay structure, and work like the most ruthless motherfucker they have ever seen on what pays the most. I have no idea what your system is but if you aren't on some kind of performance based compensation you aren't in sales. Study it, figure out its tricks and ins and outs.
Asking should I ____________________ anything other than should I go for whatever pays the most is a distraction from your only purpose in sales. I know that this is hard to understand but you are going to be bombarded inside and out with bullshit which has NOTHING to do with your sales, including your question in this thread.
Let me give you two examples. Some places have scaled commissions that once you meet some numbers you get higher rates etc. Maybe at your place after you sell the 5th doorbell you get a 5% raise in the rest of the months commissions. You need to scheme the system and work hard to get to that 5th as fast as possible. Another example from a friend of mine, he told me there was a used car at his car dealer that did not sell for 400 days, and he put a $1500 minimum commission on it, and every salesmen on his team showed it to every person who walked in regardless of what they asked for and it was sold the SAME DAY. It was the same piece of shit car, but the structure was there to motivate the sales guys. If you arent "gaming" your structure you aren't thinking.
Let's face it, whatever corporate bs you have to put up with you are selling your time and services and energy for $x,xxx per month. Do the math and make the most of it and stop getting distracted with the 10,000 things around you.
When you know these things in and out, you will already know that approaching girls has nothing directly whatsoever to do with your next paycheck.

I'm in Sales. I basically develop new business for a fast growing finance and accounting consulting firm. My story is sprinkled in many threads I started and posts. I haven't however written about my sales career trajectory by itself. I got into it after a career in Finance that would have been much more boring.
Out of all jobs I have had this one has enhanced my game most and given me the most satisfaction.

I participated in some street level marketing with a client I've been offering some services to recently. It involved stopping people on the street and inviting them to a marketing event the next day.
Having experience running day-game definitely made it easier and made me a lot more confident.

Game IS sales.
You have to sell yourself to bitches.
You = #1 alpha compared to the rest of the cucked ass niggas around if you want a ONS. If you want a LTR, you have to sell yourself as a good long term mate.
I've never seen a shitty salesman with a hot girl; and have never seen a good salesman with an ugly girl.

I work in my second sales company now. Sales is be persistent, convince and build rapport and trust. Good products help. How do you leverage your time as best for the greatest output? There are some sales that look for short term money, or you plan that customers buy regular by you. The repeat business. This brings in some of your commission and gives you time to look for new customers.
For game, sales is also about self presentation, be on point, build trust, understand what the customer needs, not directly what he wants. I know sales people that are not players at all, I doubt that they can use game well. On the other hand, be in sales make you speak in front of all kind of people. CEO, Technical engineers, maintenance guys, depends on your product, sometimes I pop in a meeting and you have 10 people sitting there and want to be convinced by you. You also get shit test, bla bla you are to expensive, competitor X can do this and that.
So be aware of your appearance, persistent and handle shit test, confident. When you can transfer this, sales can give you some interaction with game.
We will stand tall in the sunshine
With the truth upon our side
And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride
For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

Definitely does. In sales there are two key aspects. Hunting (and landing the deal) & then Maintenance / Renewals (the LTR aspect which yields the long-term ROI).

I work as an engineering consultant. I do design work, consultation, customer service and sales. It's performance based commission.
Learning game helped me understand communication at a deeper level and just general human interaction. When I took a long sales assessment test I was pegged as a top level performer without any formalized sales training. My boss (VP) is a no nonsense kind of guy and said since they implemented that test they haven't seen a new hire score so high. Recently we hired on another inside sales engineer and I took a look at his scores and they were pretty underwhelming - in fact the lot of people we were looking to hire were the same.
When I was interviewing I answered some standard questions and then started asking the CEO of the company questions about the job, the company etc. Once he got comfortable with me asking him questions I started to steer the conversation more personal - asked him how long he was there, what he liked about it, if his children were in the same industry and naturally he started talking a lot more. We then chatted about hobbies and other aspects of our lives and I was mirroring him quite a bit but not excessively.
I wasn't over eager but acted excited and I got a good vibe from the guy- he was a bit more old school and I knew I could be a bit more straight up with him.
One question he asked is if I had a high level of sales experience outside of my typical customer service jobs in high school/college and if I didn't what could I relate it to the most. I asked him if I could speak candidly and he said sure - I laughed a little bit and said "I know it's probably not the most professional thing to say but I believe my experience with women has taught me quite a bit about sales. It's a very similar process from meeting a woman to being with her long term."
His reaction was great- he lit up like a light bulb and laughed and said he appreciated the straight answer.
Toward the end he mentioned my assessment score and said it was really good and said he hopes I'm not just good at taking tests. I said its pretty easy to see that I'm not just a good test taker- he asked me how he would be able to see that. I told him - "isn't an interview a sale? I'm selling myself to you but I'm also making sure from my end that you are a good fit for me."
I broke down our entire interaction - from the first handshake all the way to this moment. I told him about me looking him in the eye, being upbeat but not too eager, talking about my technical experience but making sure I didn't lose his interest in the process, my body language during the interview process, pacing/leading/mirroring, how I started asking him professional questions that lead into personal questions and how I noticed that made him comfortable with me, the funny candid answer about women and just the overall positive mindset during the whole process. He just nodded his head and laughed and thanked me for my time.
Next morning I got a call from the company with an offer of employment.
TLDR: every aspect of life has game and sales intertwined.
