Do your professions or hobbies have any impact on if women find you attractive?

Say, for example, if a man likes writing and he even publishes books and poetry, will this have any effect on the way women perceive him? Also, on a related note, are there any "beta" jobs or hobbies a man can have that will make him look weak or feminine?

Do your professions or hobbies have any impact on if women find you attractive?

The short answer is yes.

If I describe someone as a writer. That's what someone will expect, the stereotypes of a writer. Someone will fill in the blanks and make assumptions. If he quotes Hawthorne, references Mark Twain, or subtly acts out a snippet from Faust. It's because he's a writer.

Now imagine if the person I am describing was a carpenter, a plumber, a lumberjack, or a welder. It doesn't make his references less witty, appropriate or charming objectively. But with the proper audience that comes as a welcomed surprise, attractive by ways of mystria - how does he know this - where did he learn. This effect would be lost on the wrong audience. It's all about context. I digress.

If you dont have a "manly" or "alpha" profession, and especially if you feel insecure about it. Remain mysterious until the attraction hooks are set. Until the woman is intrigued and invested. Treat their inquiry as a small slight, like what you do isn't who you are. Deflect - "I'm a criminal" when they ask what kind "I steal women's hearts, but I'm looking to retire". Just because they ask for information doesn't mean they deserve it. Ask anyone in the know, information has a cost, it's not free. Just because someone asks doesn't mean you should tell them, that is a people pleasing behavior and it won't help you garner a woman's attraction at least initially.

If you're talking about the medium to long term. It doesn't matter. Do you have dough? Is she trying to jump your bones every night? Are you being a man and making her feel like a woman? If the answer is yes then it doesn't matter. What does matter is that you're confident and happy with who you are and you love yourself for your accomplishments while always striving to be more and better. That should be your primary goal, and as a secondary effect you will garner the affection of women..

If you're opening with, or getting opened by "so what do you do" and not making them laugh or trapping their thoughts with mystery and intrigue I think you're doing it wrong.

Do your professions or hobbies have any impact on if women find you attractive?

Meh... it's been written about but I'll write about it again...

1. Professions like lawyer, dentist, doctor, accountant, financial planner, teacher, salesman, realtor, banker, insurance executive, engineer, IT professional, investor, etc. don't really get those panties wet. At least if you lead with it. ("Hi, I"m Hank. I'm a lawyer. I'm so important. What I do is so high profile. I'm practically on MSNBC every night. I have so many cases.") Younger women are pretty "meh" to professions that are upper middle class but relatively boring. Most women only enjoy the perks that come with a decent profession -- nice dinners, fancy gym, big house, disposable income, etc. But...

2. Professions like MMA fighter, tattoo artist, DJ, promoter, bartender, professional athlete, musician, etc. - those will get you laid. For two reasons. First, women are physically attracted to those kinds of men. Second of all, those types of men are around hot women all the time. Women don't give a shit if these guys are poor. They'll suck the skin off their dicks every week while often latching onto a beta bux. Her dentist fiancé might bring in $250k a year and treat her right, but like, the MMA fighter is, like, so hot. And he has tattoos!!!!

3. Your contributions to society mean nothing to women. You can win a Nobel Peace Prize, cure cancer, and end poverty in Somalia, and she'd still rather suck off the bartender with tattoo sleeves. Women give zero fucks about your contributions to society. If your goal is to contribute to society, do it for yourself, not to pickup chicks. It doesn't help (although it's personally meaningful).

4. In terms of hobbies... yes, they affect your ability to pool poon...

Hobbies women are attracted to: hunting, cooking, camping, hiking, MMA / BJJ / kickboxing, mountain climbing, cars, music, cycling, fishing, bodybuilding / the gym, sports, kayaking, woodworking, home improvement projects, motorcycles, off-roading, guns, skiing, snowboarding, tattoos, Crossfit, etc. Basically, anything either creative or physically challenging. Eventually she will want to do your hobbies with you, if she's into you.

Hobbies that turn women off: video games (sports games with friends are the exception), MMORPGs, anime, sitting around and texting all day, television, spending all day on the internet, watching porn, wearing gay shit like pink shirts / pussy hats ("but you're such a good ally! However, I'll be fucking your friend in the bathroom..."), complaining, talking about your depression / health problems, not having hobbies, weird shit like stamp / coin collecting, comic books, etc. Hobbies that are passive and she can't do them with you.

Hobbies that are neutral: art, ballet, opera, literature, wine / beer / spirits, interior design (when done right can get ginas flowing, though), writing, church / scripture (though I've observed most women find my faith to be attractive; most of my girlfriends eventually ask to attend church with me), politics, "foodie" (can go either way -- if you're fat, works against you, if you're fit, they'll find it sexy that you know all the good restaurants to eat at), running (most girls like guys who are a bit beefier but some don't), vaping, etc.

Bottom line: your professional life doesn't have much an effect on your dating life. Hobbies that are active, dangerous, or creative attract women. Hobbies that are passive make women think you're a dork. Other hobbies should be for you -- if she's into you, she'll think it's cool. If she thinks you're a dork, she'll think your hobbies are dorky.

I'm sure if you were a top notch chess player, loved building WWII airplane models or were into computer programming, these aren't hobbies that would exactly get it wet.

On the other hand, hobbies like being a competitive surfer or a cross-fit guy might. So yeah, certain ones can have a negative impact. At least at first.

Hank I usually agree with you but this time I’ll disagree. I work for a well known oil and gas company and every time I tell girls where I work, their eyes light up and I can tell they’re impressed. The high quality girls put me in the boyfriend/husband material category and assume I make good money because of where I work. I’ve gotten tons of dates and bangs because I had instant DHV for telling girls where I worked.

The low quality skanks will always prefer to fuck the bartender, DJ, tattoo artist etc. The high quality wifey material girls won’t go for those guys, they will always prefer the guys with a high power, well paying job/career.

^Interesting point which begs the question to OP: What's your goal? To bang tomorrow's skank or find a wife?

It all depends what you're trying to achieve.

I think it was in the Business Review where I read that white collar men are very likely to have had less sex than blue collar men in the preceding two weeks.

The article didn’t go into the issues we discuss on this forum nor did it suggest hypergamy doesn’t exist. It said that the lack of time and porn use are factors of white collar men’s withdrawal from the SMP.

Hank's reply is solid but it doesn't end there.

Bukowski was an ugly poet who worked at the post office but once he became famous women threw themselves at him.

Also, you can be a lawyer, dentist, something boring, but if you obtain a leadership position in that role, even temporarily such as speaking at a conference, you are now attractive.

Eh, I'm an attorney and make a good bit of money. I also have some random local and internet fame for high profile cases.

I've found it doesn't really impress younger girls, like ones in their early 20s. If I mention it too early, it's like the only value I bring to the table is my law degree and cash.

For sure, it helps me bring in older women (30s+), but they're still more likely to blow the bartender with tattoos in the bathroom and then ask me if I want to be their boyfriend.

Hank I’ll agree with you about the early 20’s girls. Usually they’re either in college or fresh out of college and care more about having a good time than they do about settling down. But once a girl is out of college and enters her mid twenties (23-27 years old), they care more about a guys career than they do if he can make her vagina tingle and make her pass out during sex. Again, this is for the wifey material girls that come from good families and have good jobs. Those are the girls I’m after.

I used to work in restaurants and nightclubs as a bartender. Yea we hooked up with a lot of girls, but most of those girls were your typical club rat or low quality skanks who loved to do cocaine in the bathroom.

Now that I have a great career and make a ton of money, I hook up with more girls now and the quality has gotten better as well. All girls are attracted to money and power.

There's a reason "civil war reenactment" and "magic tricks" are stereotyped pussy-dryers.

With that said, kaotic likes to point out: show, don't tell, your DHVs. I'd be hesitant to even let most women know what my hobbies are. If she's vibing with me, she'll fill in her own blanks with hobbies that turn her on.

Do your professions or hobbies have any impact on if women find you attractive?

I know it’s been said before and it’s common sense, but above all women are attracted to confidence. There’s a certain confidence that established men with money project, and women love it. I’ve always been a confident guy, but the further I’ve progressed in my career and more money I’ve made, my confidence and demeanor are off the charts compared to when I was young and broke. Women can sense this.

Some of my bartender friends are broke as hell, but are confident and can hook up with the best of them. But the type of women the bartender attracts will be a lot different than the type of women I attract. To each his own.

Hank post nailed it, but to summarize things up:

Younger girls just want to have fun. So do hobbies that are fun and interesting and exciting and dangerous.

Older girls (or girls in general) want status. So do hobbies that give you high status. Or achieve high status in your hobby.

I made a thread about this a few months ago, but Cobra sums it up. No matter what you do, you can attract women, all about your end game.
