Medically certified emotional support animal.

What a crock of shit. It's a fucking gerbil, not a seeing eye dog.

If it really was medically certified, the airline was obligated to let it onboard. I think not doing so is ADA violation, just like not letting a seeing eye dog onboard.

Of course, it appears that 'she says' it was certified and probably was not.

As I recall (don't have time this morning to delve into it), ADA only formally recognizes dogs and (get this) miniature horses as legitimate service animals for the law's purposes.

Found out the latter when I saw a guy walking a Shetland pony (with a service animal vest on it) inside the grocery store and complained to the manager. Turns out it was valid, and so there was nothing they could do about it - except follow the competing Health Department regulations and throw away all the food within a 20-foot radius if the thing crapped on the floor. The horse guy is apparently a smug asshole about it, knowing it offends people but that he's protected by the law.

Given the growing number of stories of outrageous abuse of the "service animal" concept, I would not be surprised to see a crackdown in the near future. The abusers have so diluted the term that it's almost synonymous with "purse pet" anymore - a selfish indulgence or fashion accessory. Which is unfortunate for those who have a legitimate need for a legitimately-trained seeing-eye or seizure dog or the like.

I'll bet the employee was sick of her and told her to flush it down the toilet to be lulzy.

She concluded that she finally had an excuse to kill something. The only question is whether she was getting off on obeying a male or using Pebbles as a pawn to harm an employee.

Something doesn't smell right about this. A hamster could easily qualify as an emotional support animal (ESA) (not to be confused with a service animal)if properly documented. She probably showed up with the hamster and claimed he was an ESA without having bothered to investigate in advance what the documents required are (primarily a note from a mental health professional prescribing the ESA and a health cert for the animal). The airline would NOT have rejected the animal if she had that. They would however call bullshit if she just showed up and said he an an ESA.

If this really happened at all then she likely flushed him in a fit of tantrum

An emotional support animal is far from a service animal. The qualifications can be bought online in 5 minutes (same for service animals, really). The distinguishing factor is an animal that provides a service or just an animal you like to carry around. The websites implore you to not take advantage of the situation.

I've a friend that lost 95% of his hearing due to an IED strike and he has a Serval Cat as a service animal. He suffers from PTSD and startles easily. The cat has tremendous hearing and alerts him to anyone entering the room or coming near him. So, weird animals can also be service animals (like the horse above).

But, Emotional Support Animal, literally means nothing. It's a friggin' made up term for chicks that want to carry animals around.

By the way, in order to take an animal on a plane, you need a current (1 week or less) health certificate denoting all the animal's vaccinations. You have to notify the airline 48 hours in advance. If the animal is large you cannot sit in coach unless you buy an extra seat. I usually take the hit and sit in first class. You need the animal's training certificate (not sure how the fuck this would work with a hamster). You also need to check with where you are going, assuming you're flying out of the country, with their laws and regulations regarding animals coming into the country. If you don't do this, your animal will be quarantined for 6 weeks or more.

It's against the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for the airline (or anyone) to ask you what the animal is for. That's like I have to prove to you I'm handicapped, which doesn't work. My health is not any of your business.

When you get these clowns trying to take peacocks and hamsters onto planes (which obviously isn't very much emotional support, since she flushed it down the toilet, wtf?), it just muddies the waters for everyone.

Flushing a live animal in to a chemical toilet is pretty grim, if you think about it.

The cunt could have easily rented a car. Airport rent a cars never run out.

She just couldn't swing the obscene last minute costs and one way fee to do so.

Book a bus ticket or release the little guy into the wild. The hamster would have died in a day or two anyway. I hope someone arrests her for animal abuse.

I'm waiting for an alligator support animal. Then for someone to try to board an airline with a 12ft long alligator.

Maybe not killing them, but there are plenty of cases of women abandoning babies, like leaving them in front of hospitals.

And in my case, after the divorce my ex-wife effectively disowned my daughter. She really didn't have the maternal gene.

BTW, veering off-topic I suppose, but this just randomly popped into my google news:

This is standard issue red pill. Women present themselves as kinder and more loving with men for the advantages it gives them. They are very canny about keeping the facade up.

Put them in pressure filled situation and they forget to keep their lies straight, speak candidly about how they feel, and scare the rest of us.

We have seen this before because I know I posted this on the forum at least once.

Officers found Nicole Elizabeth Huey, 29, at the wheel with a hamster on her lap. Huey told officers she was headed to a local store, and got out of her car, leaving the hamster on the dashboard. Three officers chased the loose hamster before one could trap it with a container made from an evidence tube. Huey was arrested on an accusation of DUII and taken to the Washington County Jail. Neither Huey nor the hamster was injured during the incident. Huey reportedly told officers she had no one to retrieve the hamster and they “should just kill it.”

I was once helping a family member, the sweetest, kindest appearing granny you could meet, sell her house. She had moved out already and was in an apartment that didn't allow pets. She had a couple of cats who had been her constant companions for about a decade, and she hadn't done anything about them before moving, so we left them on the property and fed them daily.

Not a good situation. So I said to her, we really need to do something for those cats, thinking about selling them or giving them to someone. She said, "Oh, I know, I would be fine with putting them to sleep."

I was inwardly horrified. She was just like a chick who has moved on to another relationship and her ex is now a non person. I just didn't know women were capable of this with their holy cats.

She was definitely stressed out about the house.

Put them under stress and watch the demons come out.

Not exactly true. If youre claiming its an ESA you have to provide a letter from a mental health professional. Its in effect a prescription for the ESA. The airlines will ask you for this.

There is no training requirement/ certificate component for traveling with an ESA.

Well if she killed the hamster before getting on the flight she obviously didn't need an emotional support animal to fly, did she?

Other than that, all airlines already allow women to carry emotional support hamsters - the ones in their heads.
