I'm a 20 year old American and being cool is #1. In fact we started cool in the 50's with James Dean in Rebel Without a Cause and Marlon Brando in The Wild One. So who the fuck in our soy latent society would you consider cool in that same kind of classic way?

At first I was going to say Trump, but while he's the #1 most outstanding man in public life, I don't think cool quite captures him. Cool has only been a thing for a few decades. It requires a certain ironic detachment. Someone who's sincere and straightforward can't really be cool like the Fonz. Even movie stars like Jimmy Stewart or John Wayne weren't really "cool". They were handsome, suave, sexy, masculine, brave, bold, etc., but cool just wasn't something people sought.

I would also say that only young guys count for the sake of the OPs question. I would say they should be widely known.

The best example I can think of is Justin Beiber, even though he is soy as hell. Milo is cool, but he's only niche famous. Even his coolness is campy and gay, not like the Fonz. Maybe PewDeePie is cool? I can't watch him for more than a few seconds, so I don't know.

My conclusion is that baby boomer style coolness is passe, and together with that, the upcoming generation of young, famous men are too soy to be cool.

I've seen it said that a cool vibe is important for good game, but maybe this terminology is obsolete. The right vibe is clearly important, but cool is probably no longer the right word.

You are right. Re-reading the OP again, it's likely a flaming gay guy.

No straight guy would want to know the answer to a dumb question like this, even if someone happened to know what Gosling was like on a personal level. I would rather want to know what color Red the Canadian Feminist's panties are than if Ryan Gosling is sweet.
