I've followed all the rules and created an account on Poloniex. I'm still somewhat confused, can I start trading in some bitcoin for PASA?

So you have a wallet linked to an account?

PASA is the name of Pascal accounts. Pascal (PASC) is the currency. You can trade that on Poloniex with BTC.

I've got 1 account with zero balance. I've not linked any wallets to PASA. The Poloniex website isn't letting me access the created account, just goes back to log in screen

The thing I dont get is, if the transaction fee is .001, then its not really scalable. If it gets to bitcoin level thats a lot of money at .001, so I don't see how this would work.

That's only for subsequent transactions within a block.

The first transaction is always free, and there are only a few minutes between blocks.

I read that measure is to combat spam. It can be changed in the future once transaction sizes increase. The network is currently set up for an "average" user.

I've got the basics down now, whats good number of Pascals to shoot for when they're at $5US a pop, 100?

It seems according to the graphic that it's inferior to XRB because of the fee. Also, XRB can scale way past 7000 by using sharding, to more in the 100,000 range.

Read this analysis on further scaling XRB past 7000 transactions per second.

That depends entirely on you, dude.
What percentage of your stack is that?

I don’t really have percentage. I’m just spending a few grand and then sitting on most of them

I am completely undecided what I am doing with this stuff. I keep going back and forth on whether to sell it or not.

What are other people doing?

Sold mine today for a minor gain for the following reasons:

1. Exchange integration is more complicated than most coins. Exchanges will take the path of least resistance, so the development team will either have to pay big bucks to get listed, or win a vote, or the volume will have to increase significantly on Poloniex for another exchange to take on the burden of the integration.

In the short term, winning a vote is probably their best shot. In the last Kucoin vote, the #1 and #2 coins were listed. The #7 coin was also listed, but that may have been for other reasons. Pascal Coin may have to place #1 in the next vote in order to get listed, since their integration is harder. If the image in the above tweet is accurate, they would also be competing in a much tougher field. Their community is growing, but it's still not that big. I don't want to bet on the outcome of the contest, because if they don't win or at least place, the price will almost certainly go down.

2. Users have to buy wallets, which is a bottleneck for adoption. Their current solution is a bot that gives free wallets on their Discord channel. Not exactly scalable. The wallet is also complicated to use. I think they're working on a new wallet for a better user experience, but I'm not sure when that's coming out or if it will deliver what's promised. One of the two main devs jumped on the Discord the other night, and was talking about a bunch of other crazy new features, but not the wallet. Devs sometimes focus on the fun features rather than the most crucial ones, which is a common pitfall.

3. I think the Raiblocks hype train is slowing down, and this market is fickle. By the time Pascal Coin gets their shit together, people will be onto the next new thing. I think they're doing a really good job, but I'm not betting on it all coming together in a short time frame. There's also the very real possibility that Raiblocks shits the bed when it hits Binance, which would also weaken the investment case for Pascal Coin.

4. I talked to an engineering friend last night about the Safebox technology, which he called "squashing" the blockchain. Apparently there are tradeoffs when doing such a squash, and Bitcoin was looking at doing something similar. Need to do more research on that point, but who knows how Pascal Coin will perform when it gets to scale.

5. There are a lot of ICOs going on right now, so I'm putting my money elsewhere for now. If Pascal Coin does hit, I think it will be a longer hold.

My poloniex verification has been pending for weeks now, doesn't even seem worth it because getting mass trading at this rate will never happen
